Nice new torch ;) thanks for the video. The only tube I had to bend, I used cerrobend (Woods metal). I suppose pitch works similarly but for some reason it's nearly impossible to find in France (ans for what I know, cerrobend is way less smelly) the mini baritone project is promising, can't wait !
Hi there. Thanx a lot for wonderfull vudeos and a lot of informacion. One question. Do you know if the pitch is the same as juwelers calls chasers pitch? Here in spain it seems imposible to get, but meaby on the internet. All the best.
Hi,...how take off pitch by tube After bending? 1) heating again to remove the big part of pitch....ok But how to remove the pitch that remain in the tube After heating....?
Hi man, other video idea, how do you unstain a clarinet to reveal the beaUtiful grenadilla wood underneath? What do I use, what to do step by step. THANKS☺
I get it from the pitch filled tubes that I get from Allied. I do not know if Ferree's Tools sells it. Also, one of my viewers said that Cerrobend works. I am not familiar with this, but you can check it out.
The vast majority of the pitch drips or burns out when you heat it up. Most of what is left is soot from the fire. If you wash it out and use a brush on the inside, it will almost all be gone.
@@TheBrassandWoodwindShop thank you a lot!! I'll search for it. Im an amateur tecnitian and is knd of hard to achive specialized tool here in Mexico. Many times I handcrafted it all
Here is the link to a video that will answer that question. "Flute Pad Height: How Far Should the Keys Open?" ruclips.net/video/ije0DDVcTX4/видео.html I hope this helps, Art

Can you do a video on soldering on different plated Instruments like nickel and silver? Also have you ever used woods metal instead of pitch?
would ice and wax work as the filling?

I’ve also seen sand used as a filler.

I will try to do this in the near future.
where can I buy french horn lead pipe. One of the places I tried only sells to instrument repair ships. Haven't found any other sources yet.
If you know what leadpipe you need, you can go to a music store and see if they can order one for you. You can also keep looking on ebay or reverb.
Interesting.
Where do i get this pitch??

How easy is it to clean the pitch from the inside of the tube, and do you remove all the pitch from the inside

what material is thath!? can you spell it please? and thank you a lot from México
It is pitch. It is a lot like tar. It smells like a newly paved road. I am sorry, I know some Spanish, but I do not know the translation for it.
