Maaaannnnnn this is sooooo good! I was scratching my head off trying to simulate crowd... been failing for like a month (considering no Windows PC no amazing knowledge of animation) This tutorial is real goodie. Thank you so so much!
Great tutorial. I understand is not as powerful as Houdini but this is just what I needed. I did in 30 min what in Houdini would take me a day or more. Thanks!
Excellent. Could you expand on this a little and show us how to maybe adjust the MoCap date to get a more unique walk and then a little more on changing the clothing and maybe the faces and hair to ad more unique variation into our crowds.
with it in a few weeks or months if I pour enough ti and effort into it. I'll be watcNice tutorialng many more of your videos for tips and inspiration.
Very good tutorial. Would love to see the solution with integrated thinking particles. The normal particle emitter for example already fails in shooting out particles in different directions (angle).
One important note, make sure your connect object, does not have the weld option ticked or the resulting current state model will not have the right points for the point cache and nothing will happen when you place the point cache on the model.
Top quality tutorial mate thanks for the work! Any ideas on how to expand this system and introduce more mixamo animations for special crowd actions like jumping or climbing obstacles on the same particles?
Thx for that 'Point Cache' infos, Alan !!!! really +++ appreciated as usual when you're doing tut' !!! I remember the last time i really benefit from one of your lesson, was about 'Weights in C4D'... a so so helpful tut' !!! Here again, you bring attention, on something, especially 'Point Cache', which is so efficient and powerful, but almost nobody talk about, regarding character anim' !!! So again, Thx for this info and vid', mate. For sure you must have good reasons, your vid's are precious but way too rare ! ; ) Cheers, buddy.
Awesome tut, i have a football stadium project and i want to generate a crowd, i did it with redshift proxy but i cant randomize the timing between clones and its too heavy project file, can you help me how i can randomize the clones timing and not intersecting with each other, i don't have X-particles plug-in and i didn't use it before :( am stuck in the project
Hi! It seems like you understand X Particles very well! I'm just starting to explore it and while working on what I thought was beginners animation - Flock of birds, I found that things are getting harder then I expected. After running a simulation for a while some birds are starting to turn upside down... Is there a neat way to restrict rotational movements on Y/Z axis so they wouldn't twist upside down? In other cases I would search for up vector, however I also couldn't find it in X-Particles. Thank you in advance and have a nice day!
hi! i cant get right now the x particles so im trying to do this exercise with splines just how you mentioned but, how can i make the characters to be facing the direction where they are running with this spline method? thank you!
Is there any way to make peoples walk cycle different from guy to guy? In a way so it doesnt look like they are walking in the same speed, and in the same time. Thank you by the way, great tutorial.
I´m trying hard.. but my mesh is not green wireframe like yours when the cursor is over..and of coarse is not working...im using r14...so at the point of correction it is not calculating..could you give me a hint? I will be grateful forever!!!! thanks
To be fair you could just use a cloner and a random effector with a pre cached walk cycle object. Obviously not as simple but I am sure there is a tut for it.
@@AshleyGlover Totally could work depending on what you're doing! All the avoidance features and stuff put this a notch above though, plus you can use kill the particles once they leave the scene and the crowd will just keep coming as long as the emitter is going!
its all perfect till min.6.41 after use the connect..after when I select a mesh like you do... its get blu and wireframe but in standing position...outside the running position...please tell me whats going on...thanks
Great tutorial... i have a question? im doing a scene with a guy running with a sword and shield but they do not stick to the mesh im using a character from daz studio my clothes are find but not the accessories i did notice that the items did not have skin deforms to them can you please elaborate if you can..
Hello! Thank you for the tutorial! I followed it and got a nice crowd sim. but when I render it out, character seem to wiggle glitchy type along x axis. Haven't you met such a bug?
THX for the great Tut...BUT I can't seem to bake the animation on the character with the Point Cache Tag. It seems it's caching the animation but when I put it on the solid mesh nothing happens. Any ideas?
if you are adding the point cache to a copy of the mesh, have you made sure it has the exact same point count (be sure to disable 'weld' on the connect object) ?
any of them even if they all are bit similar. But I can tell few tNice tutorialngs changed and also I forgot almost everytNice tutorialng so I guess Im gonna start

Thanks cool tutorial, ill practice for a crowded entrance of a virtual event.
ground in just 17 minutes, amazing.
This is great using it for insect animation

nice clever use of XP!

I agree I'm an old SONY ACID Head.you want complicated try ABLETON and more tourture..with there controller ABELTON PUSH.
Great tut, thanks!! It is a really handy method to adjust animation individually.
I just got the soft soft , man tNice tutorials tutorial is perfect
maaaaan! that's looks like some incredibly crazy magic!!!! I love it! Thanks for sharing that knowledge!

witch is insightful. But u broke it down in simple man's terms. I can't wait to ss around with what you taught and see the different
thank you so much , it worked 🙂
Hi? how can I make the emitting particles to form a shape, like crowd running then go into a shape
Man man man , I learned new things today thank you so much !!!

Im having the same issue right now, have you every figured it out ? :)

Got a notebook and took notes... I’m making it out the hood
good job! i bet you are great at making s! good luck
great tutorial !!
Can I import my softs into soft soft and process without using a mic
Really awesome tutorial! Is there also a way to offset the animation? They are all on the same frame at any one time.
same question here, that would be the icing on the cake
TNice tutorials is simply A to Z on soft

This very good stuff. Great tutorial!
Gtreat tuto! I wander why nothing is enabled when i hit the Store State button on Point cash Tag. Can you please help me?

Thank you! great stuff
Where is the World War Z button in C4D?
jk, great tut
..that would be the MIARMY Plugin, incredible but very expensive program. It's build for Maya originally, but also available for C4D I believe
You're making mistake, buddy... no Miarmy C4d plugin !!
As I understand a similar plug-in is called Anima 2.
@@shazzvizion4160 It's free now lol
best luck!
I did the same way in R13, and it won't work. do you have any suggestion?

That DID the trick!!! Thanks for the quick reply!
Brilliant, was just thinking about trying to use x-particles for this; so now I don't have to try :)
Awesome indeed!!

Can you please show us how to morph one animation with another from Mixamo ?
does it work with Dynamic? I need them to collide, not intersect each other
