The soundtrack is fuckin awesome. I listen it to it all the time. Was bummed out the limited edition didn't have a physical soundtrack but at least i can listen to it on RUclips music.
You gotta meet the challenge guy at the grassy area in the morning around 7am ish. It's funny how it clicked in my head straight away that I had to meet him in the morning before school because when I was a teenager that's how the gentlemen fighters in my town met up, me included. The scene brought back memories and I thank Yeo for that.
for the fight where you got called out. you fight the dude that you were gonna be in an alliance with. but you had to be there in the morning. otherwise you miss it.
Got to the 5 minute mark in the video and decided to go buy it. Sounds like my kind of game. I'll be coming back to finish the video once I finish the game.
The best review of this game I've seen, excellent job man! The game really clicked with me, really love this delinquent school setting. I remember playing kenka banchou on psp few years back, I was really sad that only one entry of the series was translated into English, now I found something that falls into the same category and looks even more dope, so stocked it's coming to the switch next week!
Damn, this is a hell of a review! You entertained me for 14.47 minutes, congratulations! Your voice's so relaxing. I love it! Thanks to you I'll probably buy the game :D Oh, I was wondering.. what's the name of the anime that you put in the first minutes of the video?
I really like your concluding monologue, simple but true words and well said. Hearing your reflection's of having gone through the game and come out with some new thoughts on life is a bit inspiring, looking forward to playing myself and also look ahead in life
Just finished this game. The ending really feels bittersweet and definitely makes you think. While I wish there was more I could have done like deeper character interactions, I don't think I'd change it - the developer really told his story. I enjoyed watching this video after finishing it. Luckily Tim Rogers gave this project a boost (that's how I found it) BTW I also couldn't find the purple leader behind the bar for a challenge
Here I am, two years after you dropped this video. Mostly because a physical version of this game has been announced for the switch. Lol. But I have to say, this was a nice in depth overview of the game.
great review! i've finished the game at the start of this year, right when i was feeling lost and without purpose (i still am but whatever), and it clicked on me. definitely one of my favorite. i am a fan of the yanki/delinquent genre. i see this game as kind of a play on the yanki/delinquent genre. i guess you could call it post-delinquenitsm or pos-yankiism. while titles like crows and kyou kara ore wa explore the idea of the ideal yanki, i see this as what it means to be a yanki. this game sees the archetypal yanki in a different light, and i love this. an absolute hidden gem.
I adore this game, My Ringo finally had all B's and goes to Judo every Mon, Wend, and Fri, sees his buddy the mechanic for nice kickboxing training, and tries his best at boxing, wakes at 6 50 every day to do his pulls ups.
Randomly, the only line I can think of off the top of my head as a bad translation is the waitress in the cafe. "I'm taking it down." she says every time she walls up; with the expression on her face I expect some kind of random dance to start. But NOPE taking your order down.
Loved this game, as I grew up reading this type of "Nekketsu Shonen manga" back in the 90's, like reading Hareluya Boy or Rokkudanshi Blues, actually most 90's boy manga are mostly about delinquent protagonist, even in sport manga have delinquent protagonist.
Stun Club Soda haha yeah. Sadly nowadays these Yanki protagonist are relegated in satire or comedy stock character. Kinda miss them but on the same time as Onizuka from GTO said "Did I went back in time?" when he start working as a trainee teacher in the first chapter
Only 6 mins in and I’m loving this review very much in depth and has me wanting to get back to the game already.. I picked it up on switch last night and honestly I love it.. the Delinquent genre wasn’t something that I thought was focused enough to even have a genre but I’ve seen it here and there and always enjoy it.. can’t wait to finish this game.. think I’ve been trying to control things too much. I would love any manga/anime delinquent genre suggestions
Yea! It runs pretty deep. I did a video on my favorite delinquent manga if you wanna check that out. But some ones off the top of my head are "kyou kara ore wa" and "Crows"
Man great review. I'm getting this game now especially seeing that it's discounted in eshop. This reminds me of Kenka Bancho. I love that game and would be thrilled if they release one for switch.
Jesus christ I left my last comment a bit early while listening to this video but thought now its over I need to leave another comment, you video content is brilliant! Defiantly keep it up! Subbed! M
@@StunClubSoda Your video as well as the game is awesome! Had today off work so played a bit of Switch this morning/bout 9.30am, floating round the eShop saw this was released today and it immediately caught my attention and for £11 I though what the hell, 10.49pm and Im still hooked! Your line "Of corse would this be an indie game without some bugs? I mean name a more iconic duo than indie games and bugs n'Ill wait..." is just a fantastic quote. Like the game - needs much much more recognition for its wonder, your channel deserves far more subs! Ive subbed if your future videos match the brilliance of this one I can't wait! M
it's on sale now. 5:55 don't we all have to fight for our right to matter. Maybe with words/inactions, but not always kicks. 7:00 what genre isn't supersaturated these days (8:45 so many river city ransom games)? Everything is either an FPS, roguelite/metroidvania, or cliched action/JRPG. There's some good ones out there if we wait long enough. 7:30 lol cigs are good, that made me laugh. But I get the logic it relaxes.
So far put 6 hours into it, all I wanna know is if Ringo can end up with Aiko, I messed up and missed the second tutor session like 2 hours back so I'm screwed till I play it again whenever that is. Loving the game so far, gunna keep pumping hours into it but heard she basically stops existing if you miss the tutoring sadly
Good stuff man sub. Hope you do a video on the genre, to me it seems like its underrated kind of manga for any which way i look and i so tired watching magic or crazy power and over the top fighting anime and mangas to the point that i just want to see an anime where its just a straight up realistic fist fights between too delinquent assholes
Yea, I feel you. Honestly I feel like the genre has been passed by for now, but I hope it makes a comeback. And if you haven't seen it, we did a video on some of the top delinquent manga. Also, thanks!
@@StunClubSoda anytime. Yo you heard that the game is hitting the switch soon? Looks like the Russian is going to get some recondition for his awesome game im happy for em

Ending was pretty lazy IMO.. I feel like Yeo got bored half way through and decided to wrap the story up. Also the music was worth talking about, but considering it was just a bunch of royalty free stuff that Yeo used he shouldn't get much credit beyond choosing what went where.
Game looks interesting but I'm not going to support the dev. The guy was banning people left and right on the steam forum for any negative comments at all about the game. Not going to reward that kind of behavior.
Nice video, but you forgot to mention the kick-ass soundtrack :^)
Dang, I knew I was forgetting something lol

Oh wow, that makes a lot of sense.
Ya but did they fix it now? I mean it's like still going on every morning
@@trrrmac Development for this game is dead pal.
I relate so much to this game I'm also trying to find myself in the world and trust me it is hard but u never know what the future will hold for u
for the fight where you got called out. you fight the dude that you were gonna be in an alliance with. but you had to be there in the morning. otherwise you miss it.
That ending was deep felt like the game had more plot to it and potential
the game taught me that ringo needs to beat kens ass.
A game where you can lift weights to get stronger. I'm sold.
The game came out today on switch and I was thinking about getting it. Now this video really makes me want to get it

Great video. This game deserves more attention.
As a kid who got into a lot of fights in school and is now learning different forms of Boxing, I can safely say this was one enjoyable game

Stun Club Soda You're welcome! I'm talking about the anime showing up at 00:00. And the one at 00:06. thanks!
Slam Dunk and Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism

And it features a one cut camera. A feat previously only accomplished by God of War.
No it doesn't

Thank you for the review. Will give it a go on Switch.
Vitalij Kazackov yea it’s worth it
If I remember correctly when it’s male Japanese delinquents the genre name is Bancho and girl delinquents are sukeban

you should do a review of Shin-Yeo's newest game, Arrest of a Stone Buddha. Fading Afternoon is coming out in 2023
