    Statistically, every ten wax packs had one Jordan rookie. So every one million wax packs had 100,000 Jordans, and none got thrown away by Mom! There's an immense supply of this card, as stated, but the demand is even more immense.

    There are less Jordan Rookie Stickers then his Rookie . using 1988 - 1989 fleer which would be his 2nd year card you can pull on average 4 2nd year Jordan's compared to 3 2nd year Jordan stickers. what has disappeared is the set builder or collector .

    Great topic, hence what made me click on this video. I wish the video was longer though and much further analysis was done on population, pricing history and whether the current price is fair for the card. Also keep in mind this card has probably been cracked and regraded many times so the population count may be higher than reality. Will be waiting for part 2 😄

    Like the way you have Fleer Roockie card. Jordan's roockie year was 84-85. His true roockie card is a 1984 Star..which are harder to find and grade than his Fleer 86ml.

    I saw a nicely centered PSA 6 on EBay for $6,000.00. I only collect PSA 8,9, or 10 for all cards but Jordan is an exception. Is a Jordan PSA 6 rookie worth it and will it hold its value years from now. Or are the PSA 9 and 10 so overvalued, once this prices come back to reality, the PSA 6,7,8 will also become more affordable?

    Star 101 is Jordan's real rookie. The only argument against it is the counterfeiting. And it says right in this video the Fleer is most counterfeited card. And the Star is much more rare as well.

      @@ammocan2796 and btw I've spent a lot of time researching this lately because I'm an investor as my regular job and looking to put some money into alternative assets like cards. I've spent time looking at the real and fake Star 101s, it's very easy to tell the difference. I did a test on my friend (who just bought 3 101s) from 6 feet away and he could easily tell, no equipment needed. It's not even close.

    • @freedomfight1933
      @freedomfight1933 2 года назад +2

      @@ammocan2796 the thing about that theory is Beckett is currently the only one grading Star. They didn’t have to do that, because PSA was to lazy and stopped at some point. So why would they be grading it if they want the Fleer to dominate? But I think PSA might start grading Star again with the new management there. And that will be the catalyst for the 101 value to soar. The pop counts are like 200 Star compared to 10k Fleer on any given grade.

    • @ericb4498

      The Jordan Star RC card was counterfeited using the original Star printing plates making the counterfeit identical to the original. The Jordan Fleer RC was not counterfeited w the original Fleer printing plates & easy to distinguish the real from the counterfeit

      @freedomfight1933 9 месяцев назад +1

      @ammocan2796 I wasn't saying the 101 was reprinted by Star, I meant all expensive cards have counterfeits. And the Fleer has a lot more. Believe me you won't find anyone who knows more about the Star 101 than I do. I literally talk to Steve Taft fairly often haha

    I avoid all "rookie cards" (unless I collect them from a pack), I leave those for little men with small members, prices for cards like that are a joke, they are not valuable....a lesson some of you are going to learn the hard way, but good luck with that. Collect the cards you like, but rookie cards are a scam plaguing the hobby for decades, it's not worth it. Peace and Good Luck.

    First off this isnt Michael Jordan's RC. It's his 3rd year card. His actual first card which is his actual RC is the 1984 Star Co. 5x7 Blue Border Court Kings. People need to STOP Pretending his 1986-87 Fleer #57 is his RC. It's pure Blasphemy in the Sports Card Hobby. Give Credit where Credit is Due.

    • @vintagesanctuary
      @vintagesanctuary 2 года назад +1

      The Star Court Kings 5 x 7 is Jordan's true XRC, being a subset card distributed prior to the base set. The Star 101, being the regular issue base set card, is his true RC. By contrast, the 1986 Fleer #57 is Jordan's overproduced 3rd year card. I agree with your assessment that it is pure blasphemy in the sports card hobby, and PSA is complicit with their refusal to grade some of the most historically significant basketball cards of all time!
