    Followed your direction and the scones turned out amazing! I added 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips at the point where the buttermilk was being mixed with the dry ingredients (as you said) and the result was bakery quality scones! Thank you! 🙏

    I've become obsessed with making scones during Covid. Your recipe is the first I've come across that is pretty much identical to mine. The only difference is I freeze my butter first and then grate it with a cheese grater. I usually add blueberries to mine and sprinkle some raw sugar on top before baking for that extra crunch. And to make them lemon scones I add lemon rind and lemon juice to the wet ingredients. Great video! 😀

      @BeatrixStein  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for the tips! I’m gonna try sprinkling raw sugar on top!! :)

      How much lemon rind and lemon juice do you add? If you add blueberries to the mixture do you not end up squashing them? I love blueberries but have only the frozen ones to add.

    • @LTandDS
      @LTandDS 3 года назад +2

      Rosie J I use about 1 tbsp each of lemon juice and lemon rind. I often make them with just the rind and they're still lemony.
      I use frozen blueberries. I dust them in flour first and then mix them in just before adding the wet ingredients. And yes some of them do get squished but it gives the scones a nice purply colour!

      There are no rules for eggs in biscuits or scones. :) There are all kinds of recipes, I just happen to prefer the scones that I made (without eggs). My favorite biscuit recipe uses eggs, but I haven’t made the video yet. Yes both have similar texture, but biscuits aren’t sweet like scones. :)

    • @BeatrixStein
      @BeatrixStein  3 года назад +3

      Yes absolutely! You can freeze the scones on the sheet first until they are solid, then transfer them into a ziplocks or containers. You can bake the scones direct from frozen, and you may wanna put extra 2 or 3 minutes to your baking time. :)
