    Record live audio.
    Record computer playback on any Windows Vista or later machine.
    Convert tapes and records into digital recordings or CDs.

    AC3, M4A/M4R (AAC), WMA and other formats supported using optional libraries.
    Cut, copy, splice or mix sounds together.
    Numerous effects including change the speed or pitch of a recording.

    And more! See the complete list of features.
    Audacity is free software, developed by a group of volunteers and distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
    Free software is not just free of cost (like “free beer”). It is free as in freedom (like “free speech”). Free software gives you the freedom to use a program, study how it works, improve it and share it with others. For more information, visit the Free Software Foundation.
    Programs like Audacity are also called open source software, because their source code is available for anyone to study or use. There are thousands of other free and open source programs, including the Firefox web browser, the LibreOffice or Apache OpenOffice office suites and entire Linux-based operating systems such as Ubuntu.
    We welcome donations to support Audacity development. Anyone can contribute to Audacity by helping us with documentation, translations, user support and by testing our latest code.
    Open HUB has statistics on the value of Audacity development. The statistics are set up by us to show only the values of Audacity-specific development, excluding the third-party code libraries Audacity uses.

    If someone can't find Equalizaion, Equalization has been removed from Audacity.
    1.Go to the Effect and click Filter Curve EQ
    2.Manage
    3.Factory Presets
    4.Telephone
    **Sorry for my bad english**

    If you are doing this in 2020, equalization is replaced with GRAPHIC EQ. Now everything is the same
    Hope this helps, but this tutorial really helped me

      okidokie, ain't a thang but a Chicken Wing ;)
      Highlight the track you want to alter and go into effects.
      It's the 13th option on the list called "Filter Curve" go on there and press "Manage" in the lower left.
      Select "Factory Presets" and press "Telephone".
      You're going to want to do it a few times to get the sound just right, but that's it :)

    You can get the same effect with the High Pass filter.

    • @fieryweasel
      @fieryweasel 5 лет назад

      Is there a functional difference between the two?

    • @mosley3485
      @mosley3485 4 года назад +1

      @@fieryweasel Yes, the functional difference is that this isn't a highpass at all. This is a bandpass.
      A highpass removes low frequencies.
      A lowpass removes high frequencies.
      A bandpass removes high and low frequencies, leaving only mids.
      A notch filter removes mid frequencies and leaves the high and low end in tact.
      As you can see in the video, he's using a bandpass to cut away both high and low frequencies.
