The best way to remove background noise is to cover your mic with 2-3 socks.
I've done that before, it's a good method.
Seriously ? Or its a joke ?
+FifaMacho nl het is echtwaar hoor XD
Actually, it's not a joke, it works as a crappy pop filter xD
+Dan Verber "Dude, why does your microphone smell?!" ;)
Even years later, this tutorial has served me (and I bet many other people) pretty damn well. Great job.
Thanks man. I never expected this to get so many views, and I'm always glad to hear that it's helped so many people.
I know a vocal effect invented by The Beatles. It involves duplicating the vocal track, delaying one by a few milliseconds then pan individually to the left and right. It has a resonating effect of some sort.
That's... just basic chorus effect but with a pitching rate of 0. A plugin in FL Studio called "Stereo Enhancer" does just that, and you can control how much you pan it/delay it. It doesn't have a resonating effect, it just makes it sound wide and stereo.

He said balls. Cool effect man. I'm gonna try it out now.

I can't believe this video reached 1000 likes, thank you everyone :)
51TD0wN YOU SOUND EXACTLY LIKE OWNAGE PRANKS!!!
51TD0wN you're welcome.
+51TD0wN can you post a tutorial how to do the voice of clyde from the series arby n the chief? I see that you follow halo maybe you can do it cuz i search it everywhere but i can't find it
+51TD0wN How do you become a voice actor? I can do alot of voices to perfection like the joker from batman, dexter, different black guys (and some women) movie announcer, and alot of different accents.. actually i'm just really good at copying special character's voices so do you make money of it or is just for fun?
+Bredemann100 can you do it for me pls?
Man, I need to do another one of these...
Hey, man! Thanks for the video!
Ever heard of the game Bastion? Would you know to make the voice like the game's narrator?
After hearing the actor's (Logan Cunningham) voice on a normal interview, I realized they used some effects to alter his speech.
I checked it out, I don't see him using a huge amount of effects. I assume he's using the general effects you use to make a track sound cleaner, as well as possibly deepening the pitch. A lot of what makes a voice sound a certain way is the actor.
Do you know how to make the voice effect used by Anthony in the Assassins Creed III music video by Smosh?
I'll look into it.
Alright thanks man
Awesome thanks for the quick tutorial! Audacity was recommended to me by a friend. Haven't downloaded it yet, but I'm creating some missions in a flight sim and am wanting some good, heavy, radio modulation and I think you went over enough of it that I can get what I'm wanting.
Dude, I just found this and your robot voice effect is EXACTLY what I've been looking to do! Thank you so much!
Glad to hear it helped, thanks for watching!
I have really enjoyed in your videos, they are very precise, descriptive and of good quality. I have started with using audacity few days ago and I find your videos really useful. If you got some time or good will in future you should really continue with making of similar videos concerning basic audacity usage, because with this one you have done really great job.
Kind reagards
Those effects are tight!!! Tweaked it enough to sound like Megatron. Appreciate the lesson.
Thank you so much! This was really helpful. New to Audacity so learned a lot!
Dude, right on. Thx for taking the time. To some, it may not seem like much, but the simple tips/tricks are usually the best. That was great, thx again.
there is a channel name "Riddle" his voice is superb. do you have any video or tutorial for that type of effect .if yes then please provide me. thanks and best regards...
I think this is the vocal effect that I've been looking for. Lot of hip hop songs always have this background vocal.
I needed this. One VA to another, thank you SO much
Nice and straight to the point. If you need voice actors for an upcoming project; I wouldn't mind lending a hand.
Awesome, this has helped a lot opening my world to audio editing!
Glad to hear it :)
How simple, yet so cool. You can use this for a phone call effect too since it sounds pretty close.
Thank you bro, I use Audacity so much I found myself trying click/edit on your demonstration! HAHA!
Hahaha!! If I say I'm the one from whom you got the Robot effect, I'll be lying... Yes, I don't know why I wrote the previous line. But thanx for help, great video
hi
Thanks man! I'm gonna be using this for one of my videos.
Ah, thank you for this. I'm customizing a Star Wars droid from the droids you buy at Galaxy's Edge. I want to give him a voice for a custom personality chip.
I did a test recording, to try the radio voice. When I go to Equalization it's just a straight line, no high or low points. What do I do?
you're so awesome for doing this
yooo thanks so much a tip i wasnt looking for but was the most helpful thats bro
Can you teach me how to make a Dragon Roar like Smaug from the Hobbit?
This is such a helpful video! Freakin' sweet!
Super sick! I'm trying to make a voice over of the lego movie and this is a great place to start. If you have any tips to make a voice sound more like the "Everything is Awesome" song I'd love to hear it, too!

Okay, I am sold :-) I am doing Daz3d and Computer animation iClone and need a voice machine to play all the characters. The deep is what I need, but also will have to play both children and female characters unless I can find someone.
Thanks so much for your time
We all need to just 'Sit Down' and watch you work! Amazing Talent 4 sure. KEEP sharing your tricks and talent with us all --It's great learning from you, I used audacity for over 9 years now---Had no idea re: pitch or the Red and Blue EQ .

I appreciate all of the support this video has received, and I will be posting more tutorials to answer your questions. I know I said September before, but the course I took was much more intense than I'd predicted. I'll probably be able to make some videos over the Christmas holidays this year. Happy holidays everyone!
Sure :)
Do you have a script? Or test lines?
Bro! I'm sucking your bulls! I don't know why!? nooooooooo!!!

Thanks so much for this! it's gonna help a lot
No problem, I'm glad to hear it!
the radio effect was nice, although I don't have use for it now, maybe at some point.
Could you do a Star Wars voices tutorial with Audacity please. Like the simple "roger roger" of a droid or even the Sidious laugh if possible. These tips help out a lot.
you sounded like syn shenron, awesome!!
Thanks for doing this. I'm always looking for better ways to improve my podcast audio. Plus I want to do some voice stuff as well. Do you have more videos like this one?
Hopefully I'll be making more soon, I've just been running into a lot of bad luck recently. From computer problems to illness.
Wow that robot dude voice was jus exactly what I needed to make a song haha Thanks dude.. Subscribed
No problem, thanks :p
Thanks for the tutorial really helped out! Thumbs up for you good sir!
Every bit helps, thanks :)
Hey! Thank you so much for the tips! It's really help me a lot!!
Weeb
thanks, your amazing!
Dude thanks so much! :D
I'm editing voices in a video. I'd like to analyze the parameters of each person's voice and then apply a filter so that it appears to swap voices (by giving adjusting one persons voice to the other person's parameters).
Is this even possible?
Nice Quality Effects :) Good Job
Thanks
So with the RVB effect, it sounds like my mic is underwater and I'm talking through one of those ancient diving suits. I did exactly what the equalisation graph reads and I did the noise reduction too. Any form of solution?
Awesome! Now I will make my own voices for my new movie coming soon on my channel! :)
thanks that was really cool and much helpful,,
No problem, I'm glad to hear it :)
To make a deep electrical voice, you just overdub your voice but you do different pitches of voices then you deepen the vocals.
I'm curious how to extract voices from a tv series or movie so u can use it as a reference like a voice over in some music video or some sort.
very helpful and nice
Good voice... I'll be putting my second book out soon for audition on iTunes and Audible.. take a shot at that.
Awesome imma try and make a monster voice in one of my songs
Appreciate it it was so helpful
Another loyal subscriber 👌😎
Man 51TD0wN id like to ask if you can do a like "mental voice effect" im having a hard time thinking how to do that voice effect. thanks
Thanks, this actually helped me a lot!
Happy to help.
Great effect and tutorial!
Thank you.
Which version of Audacity are you using as I dont have equilization like the one you have ..I have graphic EQ and using AC 2.3.3
Can you use these effects live for streaming or do they all have to be prerecorded?
"hey guys whats going down, this is sit down" lmao! XD
thanks buddy appreciate the tips
The robot voice with your first audio clip! XDDDD lol
Also, awesome tutorial! Really helped out! :)
Thanks, I'm glad to help :)
:) you're welcome
I have two questions: can you put in a video to look at the sound?? And: how do you put audio onto a video??
Thanks For teach us
that robot sound effect is so cool
Thx for the tips
Nice tutorial Spartan!!!!! ;)
I can't believe this is free to download I'm gonna have fun plying with this and now I just have to find way how can I turn voice into a protoss like character
finally! I can find "ultron" voice FX
how did you get started in independent voice acting?
how do you make it so that they talk at once. Like how Fusion Zamasu from DB Super sounds like two Zamasus talking at the same sound
Haha this was really interesting thank you :D I was looking to make my sound quality more professional for some poetry I want to record, but this could still definitely come in handy someday if I need to sound like an evil robot at any point ^_^ thanks for the tutorial!
No problem, I know it's an old video, and could be better made. But clearing the background noise is a great trick for making any audio sound better!
@@51TD0wN - no I think it was great. You explained exactly what you intended to and it's very popular :D
I have this weird paranoia with background noise removal, I always feel like it distorts my vocals even though I _think_ I'm just being paranoid, haha. I ended up trying to just make my environment as silent as possible by recording in a closet or whatever haha. But you're right it can definitely be super helpful for those unavoidable issues, like sometimes if someone decides to do yard work outside for hours and you didn't notice until after you finished recording Y_Y haha
I've had a lot of coffee and said "haha" way too many times in that last comment Y_Y
You're good, and you're absolutely right. Noise removal does damage the quality of your audio, so like you said it's important to make your recording environment as quiet as possible. If you can get it dead silent that's great! I find most people can't though, so it's still good to clear low levels of background noise, since it sounds a lot nicer, and won't affect audio quality much.
awesome and informative thanks =)
I am looking to make a voice over effect that can be used over and over without having to keep making the adjustments and end up messing it up and making it sound different. I want it as a file operation that I can use when ever I want, so that I can just place it over the next recording.
awesome video, can you make one showing how to make your voice sound like its in a stadium? like an announcer! I new to this stuff and trying to make my youtube videos better.
Thanks man, and I'll give that one some serious thought. Sounds like a good video idea.
cool video dude
Thanks man
CAN I ASK YOU PLEASE WHAT LOGICIEL DO YOU RECORD YOUR VOICE AND WHAT MICROPHONE YOU USE FOR THAT PLEASE
Any idea what exactly Star Wars did in Revenge of The Sith movie for the clone troopers helmet? For example "theres been a rebellion sir, dont worry the situation is under control" or "the droids have started up their main power generators". Someone as smart as you might be able to figure it out just by listening to them speak (the clone troopers)
Brilliant!
I really want to know how to make a normal voice sound like a whisper
thanks!
Thanks :)
Unfortunately the best way to produce a whisper is to actually whisper. Whispers have an entirely different sound to them, and there is currently no effect to emulate that. Is there a particular sound clip you wanted to sound like a whisper?
@@51TD0wN emulated whisper? hmmm sounds intriguing
is there a way to make it sound like its coming from a megaphone? or a big speaker??
Is it possible to make something like a crowd at a party, festival, … that is shouting heeeey, hoooooo, heeeey, … (like for example the song "when i snap my fingers - the happy groover" at the end)
this video was great bro, thanks! i recorded a song using audacity (the only one on my youtube if you wanna check it out and see how i couldve improved it) even though i dont have much experience with the program, so im glad it has some special tricks to it that i can learn. Youre awesome! just subscribed :D
