Pediatricians Answer Most Commonly Searched Questions About Newborns
“My baby won’t sleep. What should I do?”
“Pray.”
I’m already dying 😂
put your baby safely in bed and take shower. You will be better for baby when you are relaxed and baby will be better after the excerise of crying O:)
@@thetakongpancake1003 they are quoting what the doctor said in the video, they arent actually asking
Theta Kongpancake uhm no...you don’t just leave a newborn baby crying.
@@angeliqueskye7127 absolutely agree. Dont leave a new born crying. BUT STEP AWAY IF YOU ARE ABOUT TO LOSE IT. It is hard and frustrated because you don't know what to do. It's hard to see a baby in distress. OH MAN! I did everything, swaddling her, singing. I had to babywear her for 4+ months. And now she is a 14 month old sometimes I need to do it.
Gladys trust me I know I have a 18 month old but luckily she slept through the night ever since she was born.
I dont have children. I'm not pregnant. I watched the whole video
I hear u 100%%%%
Same
same, i dont even want kids lmao
That's me 100%, I watch everything, I soak up information if I think it sounds interesting and then people wonder why I know so much, it's because I just watch informative videos a lot even though they may not pertain to me at all. If you ever do have a child or someone else has a child, you can share your knowledge now!
Me as well
Both of these doctors seem great, but the one with curly hair just seems absolutely hilarious and relatable!!
Anisha De Souza really?
Anisha De Souza I believe you 😊and am so proud of your family. Please tell your cousin that she did a great job in this video and I hope to be a doctor like her someday.
Savannah Watson I agree so much 😂😂
That burrito hack at the end is A+ 😂🌯
Emily Norbury fr 😭😭😭
The food or the wrapping
I’m 13, why am I watching this
For the future😂
It is good to be well-informed! :)
I'm ten years older and don't have kids. Why am I watching this?
Jakayla Allen same!!!
Lots of teen parents
When my little sister couldn't sleep, my dad would carry her up and down the stairs to get her to sleep. He called it his daily workout
I will never understand why you can't just let a baby cry. Who's it gonna hurt?
Candis Carnegie this isn’t even about crying...
Candis Carnegie
Because a baby can’t talk, and you don’t know if your having an actual problem or not.
@@CC-si3cr It's their form of communication, they can't talk. You should never leave a baby crying, it's like not listening and ignoring a person. Plus, it can hurt their breathing because when you cry, it gets harder to breathe.
@@CC-si3cr
Most moms can't let their babies cry. It's called motherly instinct or just being a responsible mom.
I never let my child cry, because I know she needs me. And even though she's already 6 years old, I still don't let her cry, unless I knów they're crocodile tears (which a baby can't have until 6 months old).
The fact that newborns dreams are memories from in the womb is crazy to me like. WOAH.
Wow, I didn't know that newborns could dream! That's so crazy!
Scientists and doctors believe they can actually dream while IN the womb too!!
Why wouldn’t they? 😊 Also animals dream 😉
Yes babies actually dream at about 22 week in womb as faith said
Lol I’m not even pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant
Lizzy xo don't do it trust me
Margarbie Adams why?
Kyeala Symone having a baby can be really stressful. if you are not ready financially and mentally ill would tell u honestly to wait
Lol
4:04 She’s so confident about what a one-day old baby dreams about.
Am I the only one melting over all the adorable babies?? They are so dang adorable and sweet and soft and smooth and smell like sweet baby
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Me: *watches video despite having a final tomorrow*
J C couldn't agree more
i feel called out
Hope you did well anyways
How did you do?
New moms are going to love this.
My best friend is pregnant, so now I sometimes watch videos like this out of curiosity.
whitfix good friend! Good auntie!
@@Camise100 Thanks! I'm so excited 😁
Awww God bless you, your friend and her soon to be son/daughter. Congratulations! ❤🙏🤗
I’ll be taking the burrito advice thank you very much LOL
She said crying w/out tears is a concern, I thought that they didn't cry with tears before a certain point.
My daughter at least did.
When they're brand brand new they dont have tears, but after a couple weeks they should and if they do then stop it could mean dehydration
No children
Not pregnant
A virgin
Watched this whole thing
Larray?
Thicky Nicky add 12 to the list
Anybody else get that annoying screaming ad?
Andrea Ramos I did
I did
Me... im scared
Yep
Andrea Ramos yes
I'm having a baby in less than 10 days now (scheduled induction). This helps a lot. Thanks!
ThatOneChick congratulations 🎈🎉🎊
ThatOneChick aw!!! Good luck!!!! I'm praying for you 💕
ALL THE BEST!!💚💚💚💚
Yay! Congratulations. I’m praying that everything goes well. I’m wishing you a smooth and easy delivery and recovery.
my mom ate a lot of animal crackers when she was pregnant with me and even now at age 18 if I smell animal crackers it lights my brain in a different way than other foods do. pretty wild.
Mine is 7 months old where was this video 7 months ago RUclips!? 😂😭😭
Alexaa Mrtz Um..Not here?
22 months for me!!
Valery Nicolle Lemus Sandoval obviously 🤦🏽♀️
Ig she don’t know what sarcastic means 🙄
Alexaa Mrtz I know what sarcastic means but I think you meant “she doesn’t know what sarcasm is” because technically they didn’t mention the definition of sarcastic so me knowing what it *means* is irrelevant if that makes sense
My mother said when I was a baby and wouldn't sleep she would give me a warm bath and a light massage especially the tummy sometimes she would play me soft music from a fisherprice music box . Worked every time Good luck Mummies and daddies
Kay garcia I didn’t sleep fully through the night until I was 7. I also had unexplained pediatric insomnia soooo. But I’m sure works for other babies and parents❤️
Patient: doctor my heart hurts, what should I do?
Me: ( as a doctor) PRAY
Watched this video wanting a baby. Now I just want a burrito.
Stephanie Schwartz right 😂 also, I wrap my burritos like that it works well
Love this video...these two doctors are so awesome
As a new mom who just had a baby 4 days ago this was helpful. Thank you🙂
@Vlogs By Vic thank you honey. My little girl is pretty chill except for when she's hungry
She is still waking up! Good luck and congratulations ❤️
Congratulations Brittney!
I love seeing girls who had a baby recently putting comments on RUclips, it reassure me because it means you guys still have a little bit of time 😂
She said pray..😁Good advice.
Having a baby has changed my life. They are the meaning of life. Nursing my baby is the best feeling I ever ever felt. I never knew love like this existed.
IllyrianPrinces00 tell me more 😍
yes!!! wonderful and very happy for you both
This is such a life saver. Im expecting baby sept 6th. And yes i could just ask my doctor but sometimes the questions slip my mind! Thank you!
I love both of these docs
Can we have more of Dr. Amita pleaseeee?! :D
Thank you!! I have 3 month old twin baby boys and I have had every question that you guys went over 😄
Hows that going?
Mel F. Wow I’m so happy for you congrats that sounds amazing!!
Omg congrats hun. I wish you the best. I have a 7 month old girl and I'm pregnant again 😂
@@MiyiPR Oh my! Thats funny! Congratulations, how far are you??
@@ariviaarts1846 thank you sweetheart. I'm around 8w 7d
My youngest brother is 3 and we always have many newborns in our family. Ive bombarded my mom with all of these baby questions for the last 3 years
It was very helpful thanks.
Thank you!
This was funny and informative thank you! 😂❤️
I’m 9 weeks and this video has calmed my anxiety beyond words lol
İm 34 weeks this was very teaching
Dr. Amita De Souza is so funny 😂
I think I still constantly “cry without tears” 😅
I love the doctor in yellow she's so funny
My baby pulled his cord off! He was annoyed with the peg I guess? 😂
Very helpful to me my daughter is two months !!!
Finally an interesting video
fan. THANK YOU
I only watched this video because I one day hope to become a pediatrician!
me too!
I love the part about the burrito 😂😂
I LOVE DR. AMITA DE SOUZA! She is so cute, omgosh! ❤🥰 I love the things she says
I have just learnt that there is such a thing as "waiting for umbilical cord to fall off" :-O
It's terrifying making sure you don't pull it off prematurely.
Pray.
My baby is 3 weeks and I have already googled a lot of these?
My mom says I was the best baby ever. I used to "sing" to myself when they left me in my crib to sleep. She would know I was awake cause I started singing again!!
I watched this because I’m bored and a durex ad come on before this. RUclips’s doing the right thing
For Colic- gripewater is worth a try. It's also just good for upset tummies and gassiness.
No it's not. Do not give anything that promises you stuff like that
@@charlietheunicorn4043 I've actually used it with my son. It's perfectly safe, and yes it definitely works for gassiness. I've had other moms tell me personally that it helped when their babies were colicy.
Charlie The Unicorn yeah my baby cried way more after that
yes, and colic is often something upsetting the babies tummy that the mom is eating. so going through elimination diet is good-- start by cutting out dairy and see, then cut out gluten for a week and see, etc etc.
@@olgasavestheday If you are breastfeeding, yes, that is often helpful.
Babies are so precious 😍
yes, let us pray
Dr Amita is pure joy. Is she brazilian or from a brazilian family? Souza is a very common name here.
No she's Indian, D'Souza is also a common surname for Indian Catholics who are from southern India. Plus, she looks Indian, I can tell because I'm from the same region in India
@@adlinkujur2382 oh, got it. Here there's so many families originates by immigrants from all over the world, so it's hard to tell who's brazilian and who's not hahahah
Indian, from Goa. She’s my cousin!
@@biancayumipelissarioka2963 I think that D'Souza name is common amongst Brazilians and and southern Indians because both the places were colonised by the Portuguese and due to it we have their influence. Even our language konkani has Portuguese mixed in it
@@davidpinto6413 I too am from Goa, but I was born and brought up in London...
What about why is my baby not eating or drinking? Should be one of the most common questions!!!!
Except that really isn't very common. If your baby will not eat or drink, you should absolutley see the doctor.
The brown doctor kind of reminds me of Tamera Mowry-Housley
Swaddling helped a lot with my son. It’s not so prevalent in Germany so it took me two months of sleepless nights to finally swaddle him.
I wish this video existed 7 months ago. Would’ve saved me a lot of visits to my sons pediatrician...
Which is better similac or nan for 6-12 months?
ok so I have quite a few siblings and one thing I've learned is that the sound of the vent in a shower has always helped as white noise. Brown noise is also very effective. Praying is also helpful lmao
I'm 13. I don't have any kids. I watched the whole video anyways.
Having a newborn is so hard, being a parent is hard but for some reason this video made want to have another baby lol 🙅🏻♀️
Pray 🤣💀
I gave birth 7 months ago and I'm already pregnant with another one the way hoping this vid gives me some tips I didn't know 🤣
You should absolutley seek out a physical therapist who can help you correct the imbalances pregnancy (especially back to back pregnancies) can cause. It's standard care in most developed countries, but you will need to seek it out on purpose in the US.
“Pray” LMAOOOOOO
Babies probably have nightmares of the birth process! Can you imagine how terrifying it must be for babies to go through being born?
it's not terrifying-- especially when the baby is greeted warmly, without a bunch of bright lights and loud people!
greatCabbageAge238 True, in some examples, especially warm water births are less traumatic, but being pushed through the birth canal, either way must be very painful and the baby wonders what’s going on?
i like your reference to the Le Boyer water bath after birth-- very cool! my babies were all born very peaceful, the body works perfectly with the baby... the squeezing in the birth canal works their lungs so they can take their first breath... it's all very amazingly designed!
Uhhhhhhh Idk about that. Ive read tons and tons of research saying cosleeping is the best and safest way for babies to sleep along with breastfeeding being the best eay to feed a baby
Chelsey Abbott as long as parents arent over weight or under the influence.
I wouldnt say safest. Your baby can choke on your pillow, sheets or your own body. they cant turn so their little body can be stuck and they suffocate. Cosleeping when theyr 1year old plus, ok, but newborns? Theyre so small.and helpless....leave them in a crib or a bassinet next to your bed without any covers or plushies, just swaddled or in a sleepsack, and always on their back.
Chelsey Abbott yes! Notice they didn’t show the other doctor answer that?! I wonder if she suggested cosleeping and someone didn’t like that answer. My cosleepers have 100% been the best sleepers of my kids.
Confirmation bias
Delaying cord clamping helps with development! Science has shown this to be beneficial!!! And delaying the first bath
Unless you donate the cord blood! They can use the cord blood to help cancer patients so it can be also super beneficial to donate your baby's cord blood. If you donate it, you won't be able to do delayed cord clamping. Just an option!
Baby needs the blood. Donating the blood is cool and all, but that blood brings many benefits to your baby.
Delaying the first bath?
The neon green poop really freaking me out. It was neon!
we don’t care if y’all in the comments aren’t pregnant 😂
kbadddie fr😂
Thank you! Someone had to say it 😂
I just had a baby and I definitely googled the green poop 😂
Jonathan & Abby when my daughter was born and we were getting ready to leave the hospital, my daughter decided to poop, my fiancé was freaking out about the black poop and called a nurse in 😂
I'm 13 and eating, so when I heard the question why is my babies poop green I almost died😂💚
Okay, so you are stalking my search history.
right lol
The today’s version of buzzfeeds video 💖
Memories of womb in their dreams!!😍...
Omg they dream about being in the womb that’s so cute 🥰
Me: *Fully plans on never having children*
Also me: *watching this*
I had colic when I was a baby due to being unable to digest milk. I’m 18 and I get very upset when I see someone eating soft serve at Ikea because I LOVE ice cream, but it causes me severe pain and I basically become an oatmeal dispenser (yeah) when I eat it.
We are having an IUI, I'm the "father". I get the mother will have a connection with sent and recognition, but does anyone know if it will be able to understand on any level me (having no genetic link?)
My question is “do newborns see ghost?” My little brother wasn’t looking at nothing. I swear he can see ghost.
Who else is constantly watching parenting videos even tho they don't have kids?
Why am I watching this I’m still a fetus
Valery Nicolle Lemus Sandoval lmao 😂
Can you Imagine a sleep deprived parent biting the baby's head cuz it smelled like food? Lol!
Singing to your baby
Me:sings ussr anthem to baby
So glad my kid has always slept well 😂😂😂 and no colic but I did google a few of these 😂😂😂🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
I don't have children but I learned how to wrap a burrito from this video
I'm not even married yet lol
Im not a parent, I’m still in school, I’m probably not going to have kids in at least 16 or 17 years.
And I still watched the whole video for some reason
I wish I new some of these things when my baby was a newborn. Overall though, I think I did most :)
Lol my brother's cord didn't fall off until he was 9 weeks old
Blommekind * my little cousin’s cord fell off at only 5 days
Anyone else watching this but it has no relevance to them right now😅
Idk why I’m watching this my son is already 1
I'm 17. It's 4 am. I AM NOT planning to get a baby this soon. I did watch the whole video. And yes, I feel prepared
I am here all week. Try the meatloaf.
Surprisingly early
my sister used a breast pump to pump the milk, so when she went to a party, she could have a few drinks and not worry about the alcohol since shes pumped enough for a few days supply.
ORRRR or you could just not drink. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤔🤷🏾♀️🙄
HOw much did she drink? I mean that's responsible what she did, but having more than one drink isn't good for her either though.
@@MiVidaBellisima yeah just don't drink simple then no trace amount even after pumping. Lots of mum's pump and dump alcohol but trace amounts can still be in the milk.
So.. basically what your saying is your sister is a drunk. And should focus on her baby instead of finding ways to drink..
natalie shepp she provided food for her baby in advance and had a few drinks = drunk and bad mother. OOF.
i have a 10 day old. i deff asks all of these the past week lol #newmomlife
Omg I’m early!!!
