Oh, I don't even bother with collecting the letters on this board - it is SO not worth the 1-Up. Especially since the O is placed out of the way and the G is above those two bees near the end - trying to get the G after coming this far only to be killed by the bees by mis-stepping, or using bad timing in the barrel below them - ouch just thinking about it! By this level, I usually have plenty of extra lives anyway (or if not, I stock up on them before taking on this level), so I spare myself the frustration!
If the checkpoint were in the middle of the bramble area, I would have beaten this level by now. I just cannot keep stabilized in the wind with all of those brambles, and restarting way back with squitter is killing me!
for those struggling with the parrot section, try pushing left and right as _little_ as possible. the parrot only really moves fast when you hold the right or left buttons, and the wind is blowing in that direction. if you don't push left/right, he barely moves with the wind at all. so just tap left/right when necessary, and take it really slow, and it should be easier.
I've read several tips regarding this the wind keeps pushing me into the brambles even lightly tapping or not at all. Especially the direction changes. I'm going to farm more lives and try again.
Years ago I was playing that level trying to get past the horrible parrot section. Stayed up until about 5 in the morning and couldn't do it. I too have gone from "wft, this is impossible" to completing the parrot part several times in a row. Tap the left and right directions instead of holding them, it gives you time to adjust to the wind. Take your time, it's actually a good idea to first chill in the same spot to get a feel for it. Once you feel in control, you can advance carefully, it's totally doable. The level I've struggled the most with in the entire game is web woods.

you'd lean on the wind when the wind came by.
You'd say to the wind when it took you away,
that's where I want to go today.
Where am I going? I don't quite know,
What does it matter where people go?
Down to the woods where the bluebells grow
Anywhere...anywhere...
....THIS LEVEL IS A HO!!!!
Of what song is this sung in the tune? ;)
The part with Squawks becomes a nightmare when you try to do it quick. If you take it easy it is more than possible, maybe even easy
Different strokes for different folks i guess, cause the parrot part wasn't difficult at all... You just gotta face the opposite direction the wind blows and you'll breeze right through this with no issue.
I had more trouble with fiery furnace, in terms of lives, time spent, and overall difficulty of completion
I hate the bonus stage of fiery furnace!
@@fabiovercelli4962 I know, right? The worst part is that, if you mess up, you're transported to the goal and you have to battle your way through the damn level once again. ARGH!!
Some people think the Sqawks level can only be beaten by luck, but it's really all a matter of having a sense of timing... and of course, taking things easy. You also need a tremendous pulse of the finger. I should know. Spent so many awful times in that part that I quite literally mastered it back then.
I figured tapping is the way to go but my damn D-pad is so worn out and easily steers downwards when pushing sideways, making levels like these even more of a nightmare having a faulty controller..
Rare should really have given an extra incentive to get all the banana coins etc in each level. Here, as on Screechs Sprint and Toxic Tower, most of us would not know about the "extras" but for Garlands videos.....definitely the best DKC player I have ever seen
Check out V0oid if you want to have your mind blown. He's probably the best player on earth.
@@BenScott777 Thanks. Have had a quick look.....all I saw was "speed runs" which I can't stand! Garland has unbelievable skill, and finds everything there is, including the invisible extra lives etc. If there are links to VO0id doing similar things, would love to see them
habia una vida escondida en la esquina superior izquierda en la parte donde esta el barril de la serpiente, por si no lo sabian c: quedo bueno su video =)
Barely going through Squawk’s stage then losing in Rattler’s stage ahhh the good old days damm I hated this level with a passion.
Precisión de cirujano con el loro
The jungle bit music resembles me of Aquatic Ambience from DKC1.
Thanks to you I beat this level thank you so much
hmm now i'm left wondering why you didn't grab the hidden balloon
Squawks and Rattler are giving me the hardest time. Finally passed the Squawks just do die at the Rattler level as expected. Same shit with Toxic Towers. I think the snake is glitchy.
What happens when you add my least favorite mechanic (wind) to my favorite level? Love and pain
I want a remaster of this trilogy so bad. Imagine the levels of whining and pants-shitting from the younger gamers when they try to tackle this bullshit.
Wait, YOU CAN CONTROL WHICH DIRECTION SQUITTER'S PLATFORM WEBS GO?!
After about all of a ton of lives I finally beat this one god dang I always skipped this level as a kid because it so hard an finally beat it
2:38 - 4:28
Thank You, Mario.....😡😡😡😡😡
Pause the video at 3:01 for extreme PTSD
What's so special about that part? It's just Squitter being changed into Squawks in the barrel.
@@jackiebrown6845 I think that's the point
i love this game but i remenber en 1995 i was many hours in this stage trying to get all bonus or dk coin really fucking hard stage and one of the best snes games i bught this game for second hand and i using my snes
This stage was a nightmare lol
0:20 Battletoads reference
About to embark with my SNES ADVANTAGE. HOLY shitballs. I scrubbed this controller top to bottom so I can't blame that!
The one level I don't remember ever beating. I beat the game and had something like upper 90s completion but I just remember this level in particular just being awful. I remember dying at the Squawks part so many times, making it to the Snake part only to die and yeah, horrible experience but brilliant fucking game. Favorite in the trilogy as it was my game, rented the other 2 but this game I made sure to buy myself as a kid to be able to play it whenever. Early 90s felt like such a simpler time, better times....
3:02 for impossibru
do you have to finish each level to get 102%? or just find the bonuses and dk coins?
Axel I agree and I have just found and finished the game
Bruh I wish I had a Super Nintendo just so I can play this game I love donkey Kong
only the part with the bird is difficult rest is pretty straight forward
