I had the honor of stage managing two different shows with Marianne Faithfull. There was an honesty and fragility about her that made the shows mesmermizing and unforgetful.
Paul was living with Peter asher s family when .....via her husband (jhon Dunbar) who ran a bookstore /gallery (Paul invested in) first met marianne. Marianne's first husband , Jhon was involved with the head movers n shakers of swinging 60s London. He was the conduit . Shortly after this encounter Marianne met Andrew Oldman at a record launch party (also attended by Jagger and Richards. .......and so it all began .
Marianne was fantastic ,I loved the Ballad of Lucy Jordan,I drove through Paris with my friend in the seventies in a car with the tape playing in the car driving through Paris with the warm wind in your hair with both car windows down, thinking of the super star.
I met Marianne in 1968 when she and Mick Jagger visited Frank Zappa's log cabin in Laurel Canyon, Hollywood. They sat in the kitchen with Frank and his wife Gail. Mick and Marianne were like a double act - he spoke, she spoke, he spoke, she spoke. By contract, Gail never spoke. She sat mute, allowing Frank to hold centre stage. Such a contrast. I write about it in my book.
RIP Marianne, you survived the sixties and you were very loved by many in a respectful way. ❤🙏
Authentic woman! Indeed!.She is missed.
❤️

It took McCartney ages to come up with the title Asterisk Yesterday Asterisk. But you know it when you´ve found it.

That asterisks business threw me off course!
Imagine if he'd settled for plain old boring 'Yesterday'... it would never have been the monster hit that it was.. 😀

“And Your Bird Can Sing”
Asterisk, for God's sake, get rid of that AI crap.

Nothing screams AI like preceding and following each song title with the word asterisk.

A beautiful soul!?!?! Thats is a standard few of us will achieve.
"ASTERISK - AI Robot - ASTERISK"!!
I've never heard her version of the Beatles Yesterday. I have heard her version of the standard Yesterday

And no Obelix🤣
Lucy In the Sky With Asterisks, for one....
Yea, what's that all about? Something new with the Beatles?
Lovely tribute to Marianne Faithfull, Paul...
🎶 🎤 🎶
She was a true survivor of the music industry…only wish she’d outlived Mick and Keith, out of spite.
Asterisk, all my troubles seemed so analog.
I thought I'm a loser was Johns song.
But Marianne's then husband John Dunbar introduced John to Yoko in 1966!
Asterisk, you sound like an f-ing robot, Asterisk.
Tributes cost NOTHING, standing by someone in their hour of need does.
* Thumbs down *
Too bad she couldn't find God while here on earth.
Life isn’t about finding a god, it’s about finding your true self!
