    I met Marianne when she and Mick Jagger visited Frank Zappa at his log cabin in Laurel Canyon, Hollywood. They sat in the kitchen and discussed politics with Frank and his wife, Gail. Mick spoke and Marianne, not about to be out-done, spoke too, he spoke, she spoke, he spoke, she spoke, about politics, like a double act. But like most women in 1968, Frank's wife, Gail, sat in total silence while her husband held court. The contrast was remarkable.

    I like her and I think that the press treated her like trash back in the 1960´s and 1970´s. I think that it takes a strong woman to come out on the other side from many years of drug abuse and yes her voice sounds very different from when she was young, because of her lifestyle back in the 1960`s and 1970`s. Back in the 1960´s she seemed very innocent and naive, but as she got older and had her own demons to battle, she became a stronger woman because of her experiences with her drug abuse, eating disorder and the fact that she was homeless at one point in her life. I respect the fact that she got her career back on track and right now she makes the best music that she`s ever done before. I have listened a lot to her new album and its a great album from start to finish. :)

    I love you Marianne, so completely, & am so glad you haven’t succumbed to the Brexit racism and isolation that too many in England have. But as a once ‘pretty clever girl’ like you were & like you referenced here, you would do well to actually read the stories connected to what’s being called #MeToo. Perhaps your being a “pretty clever girl” that had, despite your addictions, the power of fame & power of powerful people, it protected you from certain powerful predatory men. I love men, I love & have had the good luck & brains to have primarily surrounded myself by “good men”. But I think that’s what makes some women of a certain generation having a knee jerk reaction to dismiss the MeToo movement. That’s unfortunate. You see it as a fundamental rejection of MEN period. But it is NOT. The men I surround myself with have ALWAYS been an ally and do not treat women the way too many men in power positions have.
    It is naive to say that a smart ‘clever girl’ can just SWAT AWAY horrible predatory men in power. This is an untruth. Smart & clever girls DO get destroyed by power predators.
    I hope you reconsider this and do not stay locked in a defensive posture about the very real horrors that too many smart clever girls have faced.

    • @virvat4617
      @virvat4617 4 года назад +2

      @Quincy Breed Totally agree with you! #MeeToo was a movement only against white men, who do not engage in mass harassment and mass rapes against women and children. A completely insane movement that was typical of a cultural Marxist attention gathering campaign. Does Faithfull think that the EU is the same as Europe? Really? The EU is a process of destruction and developmentalisation in Europe. Modern colonialism and imperialism aimed at demographic change.
