In my experience most don't give their dog's enough exercise. I work in a dog boarding facility and it's so obvious when a dog isn't able to burn their energy. People will get prescription medication for their dog's anxiety when the dog is understandably losing their mind because they spend 23 hours a day in the same room and by themselves for 8-9 hour stretches 5 days a week. Dogs are totally at the mercy of their owners, they don't have any agency and every aspect of their life is ultimately out of their control. I'll let my dog choose what we do from time to time (he always chooses to just walk to the nearest piece of non-dog shit and roll around in it) I don't always love his choice but I understand how he feels when I watch TV and do things that he doesn't understand. I'm surprised they didn't mention it in the clip. As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, it tells me that the dog is still not controllable, and is still lashing out on the walks. It takes time and consistent reinforcement. I've seen too many bad owners, like Marri, and many horror stories of irresponsible pet owners. You have to remember that a lot of footage is edited out of these videos. Cesar Milan is such a a great Trainer, and one of the most patient persons I've ever seen,! Thank you for all you do sir. 👍❤️
Mary is the lady that knocks on your door at 7:30am on a Sunday to tell you the new 2 foot bush you planted is actually 6" too tall and the American flag hanging on your front porch is actually 3" larger than HOA allows.
The dog is not the problem. The woman is the one that needs training. That she is too blind to comprehend this fact is so frustrating. Cesar is a treasure. Love him to bits. ❤
Ehhh, not so sure she was challenging him as much as cynical about the dog being able to be trained after all the problems. I know of a dog that the owners had two trainers try to work with, and one of them told the owners to consider putting the dog down. One of the owners was just too inconsistent in how they acted around the dog ( on walks, discipline ), and they would probably be similar to this woman in terms of doubting Cesar could solve the problem. It's not necessarily a challenge against Cesar, more of an overall case of deep doubt.
Key Points 🔑: Cesar Millan, in this episode of Cesar 911, demonstrates several important dog training techniques while working with Tassy, an aggressive German Shepherd: 1. Observation: Cesar begins by observing Tassy's behavior during a walk, noting how the owner's handling affects the dog's reactions. 2. Proper leash control: Cesar shows how to hold and use the leash effectively to maintain control over the dog. 3. Calm-assertive energy: Throughout the episode, Cesar emphasizes the importance of projecting calm and confident energy when handling the dog. 4. Controlled exposure: Cesar arranges controlled situations to test and modify Tassy's reactions, such as having another dog stand nearby. 5. Timely corrections: He demonstrates how to provide immediate, appropriate corrections when the dog misbehaves, emphasizing that this prevents confusion and further aggression. 6. Redirection: When Tassy becomes fixated on stimuli, Cesar shows how to redirect her attention and maintain control. 7. Consistency: Cesar stresses the need for consistent handling and expectations from all family members. 8. Environmental management: He illustrates how the dog's behavior changes in different environments (indoors vs. outdoors) and how to manage these transitions. 9. Exercise and mental stimulation: Cesar uses activities like horseback riding and sheep herding to provide both physical exercise and mental challenges for Tassy. 10. Facing fears: He encourages the owner, Mary, to confront her own fears by walking Tassy near a horse, demonstrating how the owner's confidence affects the dog's behavior. 11. Gradual exposure: Cesar introduces potentially triggering stimuli (other dogs, horses) in a controlled manner, allowing Tassy to acclimate slowly. 12. Pack leadership: He emphasizes the importance of owners establishing themselves as calm, assertive pack leaders. 13. Energy matching: Cesar shows how to match and then gradually lower the dog's energy level to achieve a calmer state. 14. Positive reinforcement: While not explicitly mentioned, Cesar's methods include rewarding calm, obedient behavior. 15. Body language awareness: He demonstrates how to read and respond to the dog's body language, as well as how to use human body language effectively. 16. Threshold management: Cesar works with Tassy at a distance from triggers where she can remain calm, gradually decreasing this distance. 17. Leash pressure techniques: He uses subtle leash pressures to communicate with the dog and guide her behavior. 18. Timing: Cesar emphasizes the importance of timing in corrections and rewards for effective training. 19. Breed-specific exercise: By using sheep herding, Cesar taps into Tassy's natural instincts as a German Shepherd, providing an outlet for her energy and drive. 20. Owner education: A significant part of Cesar's approach involves teaching the owners about dog psychology and how their behavior affects their pet. 21. Follow-through: Cesar assigns "homework" to the owners, having them practice techniques and document progress. 22. Patience and persistence: The episode highlights that behavior modification is a process that requires consistent effort over time. These techniques aim to address both the dog's behavior and the owners' approach to handling their pet. Cesar's holistic method focuses on creating a balanced relationship between dogs and their owners, emphasizing the importance of exercise, discipline, and affection in the right proportions.
As Cesar says "I train humans and rehabilitate dogs." I work with, and compete, with dogs and I help train puppy owners. There is no shame in acknowledging what we call "handler error." Dogs making "errors" are always showing how the human did not work with them to show them the "right way" for whatever the endeavor is. Nice job, Cesar. The fact that you could prove how the human created Tasi's unacceptable behavior is the only thing that saved her life.
That was weird. That couple said they have always had animals (horses, dogs and cats) and then she referred to the horse as a dumb animal. Cesar really had his work cut out for him this time!
Yeah, that phrase surprised me too. I guess only husband enjoyed horses. Or she wanted to do everything her way, including riding, and horses didn't have it, so she kept her opinion about them being dumb. 😅
Wow. Cesar was very gracious to Mary with her Karen energy, pride and arrogant here. She refused to accept that she was the issue, was completely prideful. She wasn't grateful to Cedar either. It was so painful to watch her attitude. Cesar was certainly an awesome and gracious leader here.

This woman is so angry and resentful. Along with being ignorant. She can’t have this dog. This dog is not suitable for her. I hope this dog find a better life somewhere else.
Anyone who thinks horses are "dumb, stupid animals " shouldn't be allowed to look after an amoeba, let alone a dog! Poor Tassy. God bless her and the animals who have to put up with this woman!!!😢
People really need to do their due diligence/research before adopting/purchasing a pedigreed dog! I've had German Shepherds for well over 40 years, yes; since I was a kid in highschool. The rule of thumb is, with all working type dog breeds (Dobermans, Malinois, Rottweilers etc.) the stronger the temperament; the more time you have to invest in order to create a truly well balanced animal. Need a trainer, do your homework & make sure he/she is not a good one; a GREAT ONE. Checking Reviews is a good start. If you get your dog as a puppy, socialization is key! So the husband is now "committed" after Cesar straightens the shepherd out. Mary: " I wonder if it's me. I really do" It is, unfortunately. The husband didn't want to be involved and his wife kept making the same serious mistakes; daily. In the end, it's the dogs "fault"; right? Got it. Priceless!
An uncontrollable German Shepherd BROKE thru my backyard fence and killed my beloved 16 yr old Maine Coone Sam. He was simply napping in the sun. The dog had a shock collar and it did nothing. The lady couldn't control the dog and kept him locked inside unless he had to potty. No wonder he was pent up....Turned out he had Bitten 2 other adults and nothing was done!!! Had they gotten proper help I'd still have my beloved boy. They had to put him down as no rescue would take a biter. I cried when she told me he was gone. His humans failed him. 😢😢 I grew up with a German Shepherd, so it was extra heartbreaking. She was the most gentle pup.
Holy cow! You cried when you heard he was put down? Well, you’re a much bigger person than I. I lost my favorite boy at 16 also. He was a 30 lb. Maine Coon, smart like any dog. I cannot imagine seeing or hearing that.
@@LadieKadie Oh no.....I am SO sorry to hear you lost your baby too. 😢 He sounded like a BIG boy! They are incredible cats! So majestic. A kitty version of a dog. The biggest blessing about the whole hideous situation, was that my Sam was whole and looked like he was sleeping when I found him. He had slobber on him but THANK GOD, he didn't look like one would imagine after an attack like that. I assume it was quick and there was no suffering. I came home to the dog's owner in my driveway looking mortified. She thought her dog had gotten one of my chickens with all the commotion she heard. I was just around the corner taking care of someone else's cat and 2 birds as they were away. I wasn't there. I kick myself all the time wishing I had been, hoping I could have stopped it. But I don't think that's realistic. I would have heard it and possibly seen it happen and that would haunt me forever.

It took me years to learn how to be calm and I knew that I had a lot to learn. George had anxiety and reactivity - but I knew it was up to me to learn how to handle such a dog. I was told by 5 different behaviorists that no matter how good I got, George (a GSD) would never be able to go for a walk. I am happy to report they were wrong. I don't have Cesar's touch and it was not easy - but no, it's not always the owner. However it is up to the owner to learn how to be that leader and help the dog. George still needs me but he's quite a good boy these days.
Why do people blame it on the dog? Usually they inadvertently trained the dog to do the bad habits. Don't ever adopt someone else's pet without walking it, having it around all sorts of situations, unless you are ready to correct problems that will be there. Horses are super intelligent. This lady has a problem. Let's see her walking the dog around other dogs.
This dog reminds me a little of my mom dog, she has a problem with people on roller skates and skateboards. She used to be the same with bikes but thankfully with enough exposure with training, she learned to just ignore the bikes. Unfortunately the problem with the other things are much worse, she will actually lunge at the people which is an absolutely no. Especially if shes on a leash, she knows she isn't supposed to do that and shes always good about not doing it until those things come by. Have no clue why this sets her off so much, she just thankfully never got away or attacked anyone.

I have met many a woman like that, in my career as a Contractor. They are always right, entitled and never the problem, with no self awareness. Cesar, you are not only great with dogs you are great with people. It is your empathic abilities the makes you succeed with both.

Tasi- name was written in the video somewhere.
Mary is the lady that knocks on your door at 7:30am on a Sunday to tell you the new 2 foot bush you planted is actually 6" too tall and the American flag hanging on your front porch is actually 3" larger than HOA allows.
Mary’s 1st name is Karen
The dog is not the problem. The woman is the one that needs training. That she is too blind to comprehend this fact is so frustrating.
Cesar is a treasure. Love him to bits. ❤
This woman has some nerve to challenge Cesar like that.
Respect for saving that situation!
I am getting more and more convinced dogs are cleverer than most humans......
Humans definitely aren’t doing themselves any favors by not just taking an assertive role with their k9s. Absolutely looking plenty foolish
That woman knows nothing about horses or dogs. Horses are just as smart.
So funny she then says “oh do you think it’s me””. lol she is sharp
She’s not a sharp at all, honestly, she just showing her brain low ability! Very arrogant and selfish person, poor animals who’s dealing with her.
Key Points 🔑:
Cesar Millan, in this episode of Cesar 911, demonstrates several important dog training techniques while working with Tassy, an aggressive German Shepherd:
Thank you! Amazing comment
Thank you for this comment, how caring. I've never owned a dog as an adult, but I see the value in Cesar!
Well done!!! This the greatest description of CESAR'S techniques!!!
Maybe Mary shouldn't have a dog?
Everyone needs a kind Mayor like that. He's a rare person. Glad it worked out.
Mary refused to LISTEN 😕
As Cesar says "I train humans and rehabilitate dogs." I work with, and compete, with dogs and I help train puppy owners. There is no shame in acknowledging what we call "handler error." Dogs making "errors" are always showing how the human did not work with them to show them the "right way" for whatever the endeavor is. Nice job, Cesar. The fact that you could prove how the human created Tasi's unacceptable behavior is the only thing that saved her life.
Tassi is fixed Mary is a work in progress!
I learn something new about myself every time I watch one of your videos. Thank You with all my Heart and Soul ❣️ Many Blessings 🌎🌈
Love these German Shepherd vids with great advice.
Caesar Milan and the pups are great.
12:10 George is sooo excited for that horseback ride lmao
Wow. Cesar was very gracious to Mary with her Karen energy, pride and arrogant here. She refused to accept that she was the issue, was completely prideful. She wasn't grateful to Cedar either. It was so painful to watch her attitude. Cesar was certainly an awesome and gracious leader here.
Absolutely fantastic Cesar. ! I'm still learning.!! Respect from England 🇬🇧 👍
She finally gets it. Yay good job.
Ugh her energy is soooo weird!!!! I don't know what it is but i can say i sense some karen vibes definitely
I can't believe the audacity of Mary not trusting Cesar!! Making him prove himself. Cesar is known all over the world 🌎 as the best trainer of humans and rehabilitater of dog's. That's why he's " The Dog Whisperer!" The humans are the problem, not the dog. We love you Cesar!!!!❤ Mary gets close to the horse. Horse senses bad energy and all hell breaks loose. Mary," I wonder if it's me?" Yes Mary, it is you!!!! Take a Xanax and chill out! Unbelievable!!! Also I gotta give mad props to the Mayor, for not insisting the dog be put down, but rather calling Cesar. Great Job Cesar!!!!
This episode should be entitled "How Do You Solve A Problem Like MARY".| Cesar 911
11:21 Cesar so good at walking the little dogs tried to go with him.
German Shepherds are such a magnificent breed! They deserve an owner that can take care of their needs. They aren't for everyone.
Cant say it often enough, God send you on earth to help as many dogs as possible, thank you so much
The horse cheesin' in the photo! lol
I'm watching Cesar's amazing videos last few days.. it's really 90% mostly owners at fault and not the dog
This woman is so angry and resentful. Along with being ignorant. She can’t have this dog. This dog is not suitable for her. I hope this dog find a better life somewhere else.
13:00 The happiest George has ever been 😂
Horses are NOT “dumb, stupid animals,” Mary.
Exactly. She is the dumb one!
Cesar is not only a dog/animal psychologist, he is also a human psychologist!! Thanks Cesar!!
~❤~ 😊
Gracias por estar 🫂💞🐾🐾
He’s right, most the time it’s the owner/handler, their emotions flow down the leash.
Con esa dueña tan antipática no podría ser de otra manera con ese pobre perro
¡Absolutamente!
Cesar gave this woman an excellent class in dog’s behavior, and how the humans edginess affect their pets
Cesar is a superman
I love the mission: Better Humans, Better Planet. Thanks Cesar.
Anyone who thinks horses are "dumb, stupid animals " shouldn't be allowed to look after an amoeba, let alone a dog! Poor Tassy. God bless her and the animals who have to put up with this woman!!!😢
Her negative attitude has changed and she can go forward with more confidence in herself and her beautiful dog. Thanks, Cesar!
It’s to bad she doesn’t realize the dog is smarter than she realizes. They are not stupid animals.
Sorry for your loss, but you're to blame as well. You failed your cat. Keep your cats indoors where they are safer.
@@mphillips4324 WOW. Nice.
My 16 yr old cat was indoors his whole life. We decided to let him nap IN our FENCED backyard a few feet from our door.. I do not live in a city. There is no traffic. It was day time. He didn't wander the neighborhood like others allow. Show some respect
@@justinewhite-hadley3138that's so sad 😢
Cesar you have the best job, you get some exercise, you play with some dogs and you train some humans, well done
No, he has to tolerate arrogant morons.
Mary, be confident. Your dog will feel it and reflect you.
Mary needs way more help than that poor dog. Also horses aren't dumb animals. Kind of creepy she thinks that way.
THIS DOG OWNER IS INSUFFERABLE!
Have no clue why this sets her off so much, she just thankfully never got away or attacked anyone.
you don´t have to be a genius ... this woman, her face impressions, every word she´s saying ... root of all problems, cause she doesn´t allow to selfreflect. No man and animal wants such kind of character, which turns you down and deeper in her fearful, hateful world.
Hear, hear.
Strange woman 😮🙃
I actually find it disrespectful that she challenged Cesar to proof himself, ¿are you serious? Cesar is the best dog trainer a professional.
Beautiful profound work Caesar. Your an amazing man 💫🌬️🕊️🤍Namaste Brother 🙏🏻
😂 "nothing good comes out if craigslist". Good point. 😉
Women like that are insufferable. Good on Cesar for putting up with that...
She’s the sort of mum that would take her frustrated kid to the park and watch her kid hit other kids and not step in to teach them it’s not okay and when the another mum tells her she’s a bad parent she replies “no he’s just got anger issues or something, we’re thinking of getting anti anger medication”.
I love watching this show because I always learn something new.
Great episode. Mary is human like all of us. Good thing is she is a work in progress
I have met many a woman like that, in my career as a Contractor. They are always right, entitled and never the problem, with no self awareness. Cesar, you are not only great with dogs you are great with people. It is your empathic abilities the makes you succeed with both.
I have met many men like that as well
@@mememe733 Oh, me too
People like that, is why i believe there should be i license to get a dog or any animal. Animals are just perfect, the influence of peoples negative energy and arrogance is all that is wrong in this world. Thank god for Cesar!
What a delusional Karen this owner is
...
Yeah she is disgusting
"Horses are dumb stupid animals"....??? What ???
So, the dog's aggressive and horses are stupid. Everything is everybody else's fault. 🤔
I wonder who's really... (pardon my French) there. 😡
Poor George.
And Cesar's patience is very impressive.
She is so disrespectful.
She is the dumb one; horses are noble, intelligent, adorable animals....
15:14 the little pomeranian herding sheep! Omg so dang cute!!!
