As a horse trainer, I love watching Caesar. People use bits and saddles with girth straps and then wonder why their horse won't relax and listen to their cues. Crazy they don't understand where the problem is coming from. It's a person problem not an animal problem.

I've experienced the same with my dogs and horses. I had a freshly trained beautiful paint mare. The first time I rode her, we walked past a man using a jack hammer. She didn't even flinch! BTW, nothing smells better than the coat of a mare.
I miss her so much! I had to go to AR to care for my mom. My beloved Was'te Wiyan (Lakota [Sioux]) for good woman was bitten by a copper head snake and I found her crossed over to heaven. Most prescious Was'te Wiyan RIP, we'll go riding soon. Mom is getting old....

Cesar is perfect with his explanation about tension its the same in horses. That feeling captive, unable to fight that flight sense and it adds to volatile situations. We bump with horses and working with rescue horses its about finding that trust and respect. A lot of ppl cannot understand that pressure release is essential, but as soon as a behaviour starts ppl completely shut down and have them so tight which escalates the situation. Relieving that pressure de-escalates that inate sense of fear and lack of trust

You should see a therapist. If that excited you at that kind of emotional level, something has to be wrong. Think about that. You would really break down if Ceasare had a challenging case because this one was way to easy. He didn't have to put any type of real work in.

If you get a Rott, don't, unless you're committed to lots of socialization and absolutely what I would call high level obedience training. And right from the beginning. Do these things, do it with lots of love and firmness, and you will have a sweetheart of a dog. Not a beginner's dog.

I agree - Rotties are smart- they know when they are with an alpha ...

I learned the hard way. We got my rottie x lab the day before we went into hard lockdown here in 2020. I wasn't able to socialise him for months and months. He's 4 now, has some big issues, we still work every day on training and activities, we're definately a work in progress.

I have 2 Rottweilers and totally agree with you, they are definitely not a dog for just anybody and you MUST from day 1 show them you are the leader, socialise as much as you possibly can and they need routine. Rottweilers are also high energy dogs if you keep them locked up in the yard most of the time without stimulation your asking for trouble.

He said the aggression started when this dog was still a little puppy so there was obviously some issues with it not due to being unsocialized

We had a 90 pound Rottweiler named Cheyenne, she was the best dog ever. We got her when she was 7, some guy that my ex husband knew was using her for breeding and I guess she was getting too old so he was just going to dump her out somewhere and when I found out I was furious and said I would take her. She had bad hips and had to be on medication for the pain but she was still very stiff and sore. One day my son, who was not even a year old at the time, he fell off the bed onto her back and I know it hurt her but she didn’t growl or anything. She was so sweet and gentle, especially with kids. My neighbor fell in love with her, she would go down to their house and hang out with their old dog. I let them take her because I knew they would take good care of her and they were pretty wealthy so I knew they would be able to get her better care than I could at the time. I still got to see her almost every day until she had to be put down because she was in so much pain because of her hips and there really wasn’t anything else they could do. I would love to find another like her.

Such a clear example of how a dog senses the owners fear and insecurity and goes into protective mode. Once the owner changes attitude, the dog falls nicely into place.

I'm currently learning to be calm and assertive in my life due to Caesar. We do have 2 pit bulls, an older female and a young male. I don't have a problem with dogs. Only people. Caesars philosophy works in every day life.

I love watching Cesar, this time I was so tense when he went in with the Lama..I needed Cesar to calm me. down..😂. I've been wanting the video because my dog's been fighting lately..I don't have a clue what's going on.. I just had back surgery and I can't have that, they are too big..I might have to move them outside, I'm not giving up.🙂

Your back surgery makes your dog want to protect you. So as Cesar would say use your energy, and make sure your dogs are being exercised extra by others while u recover.
