    I have the non uc version. Best mic I have ever used , and I have used a lot of them. It supresses so much background sound it's nuts. If you are in a noisy environment, it is sometimes harder to hear the person, but if you just press one ear lobe down, it's like anc..it's nuts. If you are at a home office,and relatively quiet, the mic is insane and the comfort since nothing is in your ears is amazing. At high volume you it can vibrate a bit but I never need to make it that loud. They are awesome and I don't know how I did without a mic that good for so long.

    I love my Aftershock bone conduction headset. You can set up TWO Bluetooth devices at the same time , I have the the 2020 model ASC100
    Steps on how to connect multiple device:
    Start with your headphones powered off.
    Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the volume+ button for 5-7 seconds. Audrey will say “Welcome” and then “pairing” and the LED light will flash red and blue.
    Press and hold the multifunction button (located on the left earpiece) and power/volume+ button at the same time for 2-3 seconds. Audrey will say "Multipoint Enabled."
    In your first device’s Bluetooth settings, select your AfterShokz. Audrey will say "Connected."
    Power your headphones off.
    R
    Re-enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the power/volume+ button for 5-7 seconds. Audrey will say “Welcome to Shokz” and then “pairing” and then the LED light will flash red and blue.
    In your second device’s Bluetooth settings, select the headphones. Audrey will say "Connected" or “Device 2 Connected.”
    R
    Turn your headphones off
    Please be informed that it is important that you hear Audrey say "Multipoint Enabled."

    I tried the bluetooth one today (not UC) today and I'm getting bad keyboard click pickup. It's a return for me. Sucks. I really wish more money meant better performance, but the wired 30 dollar headset I got from a company in China through Amazon is much better at not pickingup keyboard clicks. I think the boom is too short and the fact the sound hole faces the keyboard is not a good design idea. A longer boom arm with the mic pointed at the mouth would probably work better. It seems like it doens't do any keyboard click suppression to me. I want to keep it b/c I'm tired at this point of testing different headsets but it's disappointing. ugh. Am I missing something? I'm not suing the UC one. It's just the bluetooth one .Is that the difference? Will getting a bluetooth dongle to use with this help with that?

    I disagree. The "normal" opencom can be connected to 2 sources. Mine is default connected to my mobile, and to a Jabra Bluetooth dongle in my KVM switch so the actually active laptop has the Opencomm connected as well.
    The only annoying thing is that when you put Teams mic on hold or you walk out of reach of your BT dongle, you'll hear a beep every so often.
    Instead of putting my Teams mic off, I lift the mic boom on the Opencomm. It's very good noise canceling, so people on the other side don't hear much. I also have Krisp installed to filter noises (in both directions).

    Was actually searching for reviews about this today! What about your own ability to hear callers with those outside noises? My understanding is bone conduction should allow you to hear despite/over those things? I was thinking about getting this to combo with some ANC earbuds on my personal phone (airpods pro or sony xm4) and have the best of both worlds during travel

    • @CallOneInc
      @CallOneInc  2 года назад +2

      Hi Global! That is a very interesting scenario I'd like to test! Bone conduction and ANC earbuds! I may do that test to see how that works with the new Jabra Elite 7 Pro! To answer your question, unfortunately, one of the pros is also a con of bone conduction headsets. Because your ears are not covered, they hear everything. So in extremely noisy/loud environments, I was not able to hear incoming audio. Hopefully no one works in these extreme conditions. Hope this helps and I am definitely going to test what it's like to have earbuds in while using Opencomm UC!

    As the wearer, since you can hear the background sounds (due to bone conduction)... I wonder how it was for you when trying to hear what the other end of the call when your environment was loud?
    Also, is the mic detachable?

    • @CallOneInc
      @CallOneInc  2 года назад +2

      Great question, Wesso! If it is extremely noisy and loud, it's very difficult for Opencomm UC wearer to hear. That is one of the cons to bone conduction vs on-ear speakers. However, most people do not work in environments with that loud of sustained noise. If you do, please share. We love to hear about our viewers work evironments. And no, the mic is not detachable. Thank you so much for watching!

    • @untafsirable
      @untafsirable 2 года назад

      Nope, the mic is not detachable

    • @AndriesTom
      @AndriesTom 2 года назад

      The mic is not detachable. It's a small and light boom, I tend not to notice it in either up or down position.
      When you put up volume a bit, it becomes rather difficult to notice the background enough to make sense of it.
      With people with a heavy bass voice, you'll prefer to decrease volume.
      While bone conduction is a lesser quality sound for music, it is fantastic for voice. Also, you'll get used to it and the Opencomm has a better quality sound so even (background)music can be acceptable.
      I use it all the time in Teams, and quite often to listen to RUclips while walking with my Great Danish.
      By the way: if your environment is really loud, simply tune down the Opencomm and put in some cheap earplugs. You'll be amazed on how well boneconducting sounds with earplugs.
      In absence of earplugs, you can put the vibration emitting parts ON your ear openings,
      that also make it sounds a lot louder.
      For really short and quick action...put your fingers on your ear opening.
      All these are quick and effective.

      @@iimchstrss Here's a status update. When I mute directly via the Shokz Opencomm headset, YES, you get a beeping sound to alert that you are muted. I have submitted your feedback directly to Shokz and asked if they are considering or developing software that would allow end-users to disable this audible notification. The way I found around this beeping was to use the collaboration platforms Mute function. For example, if in a Zoom or Teams call, use the Zoom or Teams mute function vs muting the Opencomm. Thank you so much for bringing this up. Shokz is new into the enterprise headset space so I'm certain they have some learning to do. I'll create a video if anything changes!

      Hi Anderson Ramsaroop! That's a great question and I'm actually going to create a video featuring a couple options I've been testing.
      1. You can use Shokz Opencomm UC with earplugs to help block out background noise that you hear.
      2. You can use ANC earbuds like Logitech Zone True Wireless, Jabra Elite 7 Pro or Active, Apple AirPods Pro, Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, etc. with the Shokz Opencomm UC.
      However, if you don't have earplugs or ANC earbuds, it can be difficult to hear the other party via the Shokz Opencomm UC. I tested with loud revving engine sounds while listening to a podcast and it was nearly impossible to hear podcast unless I plugged my ears. However, that's my experience. It may be different for others.

However, you can pair the standard Opencomm to your laptop if you brand/model supports Bluetooth. Do you have a Windows or Mac? I'm familiar with Windows 10 based PC's. Go into Settings --> Devices --> Bluetooth & other devices --> Add Bluetooth or other device (Make certain your Opencomm is in pairing mode) Select OpenComm by AfterShokz. To enable mic, go into Settings --> Sound --> Input --> Select Headset (OpenComm by AfterShokz Hands-Free AG Audio).
      Collaboration apps like Zoom and Teams should also allow you to select audio input/output source/device.

      Hi Carlos, my wife has the Open Run. Those are designed for active people who play sports, runners, walkers, etc. The Shokz Opencomm UC are designed for professionals who use their computers and mobile device to communicate across UC platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet and others. They have a boom arm mic that helps provide better mic transmit performance. Several of our team members are using the Opencomm UC in their home offices. I test a lot of headsets and the Opencomm are some of the most comfortable. Appreciate you sharing your feedback on OpenRun!

    Hi, if i bought the non-UC version of the opencomm, is it possible that i can buy the Shokz loop 100 dongle? - I bought it without knowing that the dongle is only available in the UC version :(

      Hi itsjustme! I'm not seeing the Shokz Loop 100 dongle in our system as a separate item however, I have submitted the question directly to our Shokz Channel Manager. I'll let you know you their response once received. May not be until Monday. Thanks for watching and submitting your question, it's a good one that customers need to know the answer to.

    I would be interested in seeing what the limits are to the mic in terms of noise cancellation. Particularly in an open station skid steer, wearing earplugs if needed. I read somewhere a skid steer would be around 95db. How would the opencomm fair in that environment?

      Hi Trevor, thanks for watching and your request. Would headset be paired to a mobile device or laptop is operating a skid steer? For extremely loud and rugged environments, BlueParrot products are an option. Take a look:

      In the meantime, I'll see what I can do! Thanks for watching!

      @@CallOneInc Thanks. I just did a quick dB test and it looks like the skid steer is just under 90db in the operators station at wide open throttle

      @@CallOneInc The headset would be paired with a mobile device. We would use it to make calls

      Are they wearing hard hats? This use case sounds like a job for a BlueParrott headset. Truck Drivers use the BlueParrott headsets when in mobile calls in their loud trucks. I'll still do a test with Shokz Opencomm paired to my mobile and I found some videos online play sound of skid steer. I'll use my UE Megaboom to get up to 90dB.

      @@CallOneInc They are not normally wearing hard hats but they would occasionally. We like the idea of keeping our ears open whenever we’re doing quieter work. Do you have an estimate how soon you’re expecting to do the test? Just curious if it will make sense for me to wait around before we purchase something.

    Are you connected to your laptop? Or your phone?

      Hi Atreya, I am connected to the laptop via their new dongle included with Shokz Opencomm UC. You can pair them to your phone, but as I mentioned in the video, you can only pair to one device at a time. Meaning, if I am paired to the dongle on my computer, I can't pair to my mobile phone and vice versa. In this video I am paired to my mobile phone: ruclips.net/video/DEakSXUvdwI/видео.html
