    Disappointing you didn't do anything on the PEQ. Given how a lot of IEMs are tuned, PEQ is really an absolute necessity for an individual to customize his set to his personal ideal tuning.

      I second the comment above. System vide equalizers of Android Systems are inferior in quality as compared to the inbuilt equalizers of such audio players. Also parametric equalizers have their inherent plus points over non-parametric equalizers.@@meh-hair-Vaughn

    I don't know if leaving the bits on auto is best, as I don't find any difference between 16 bit and auto mode therefore concluded that it doesn't change the bit rate When it is with the internal dac, please check it to see if it is like this or not

    Also,
    I have recently purchased a KZ am01 dac. I am using HyperX Cloud II with the dac. To my surprise, I hear a weird hissing sound for a couple of seconds after I have already paused the music. The sound appears even when a small notification pops, stays for a while and then it's gone. Is it the static sound? Is it normal? What do you recommend to address this issue?

    • @meh-hair-Vaughn
      @meh-hair-Vaughn  9 месяцев назад

      I don't know how to resolve the issue but I will say that this (hissing sound) is not normal and is something that I haven't encountered.
      For all you know, it could be a hardware issue with either the DAC, the HyperX, or even the cable...

    Hello I hope you can help me. By any chance, is the app recommended if i want to get the highest quality from Tidal hifi plus plan s22 ultra usb connect to btr7 to car dsp ?🎉

    • @meh-hair-Vaughn
      @meh-hair-Vaughn  8 месяцев назад

      Everything in your chain of audio seems fine but I can't comment on the last part, i.e. 'car dsp', since I have no experience with that.
      But everything else (Tidal, S22 Ultra, USB to BTR7) is fine.
      Although, if you are a Tidal plan subscriber, I believe that the official Tidal app for Android bypasses the Android resampling issue and sends audio bit-perfect to the USB dac. Google this, you'll find a few articles on it.
      So I'm not sure why you would want to use the UAPP app (other than for locally stored files or for using Tidal through the UAPP app, since it has in-built Tidal and Qobuz streaming options).
      Hopefully this was helpful!

    • @meh-hair-Vaughn
      @meh-hair-Vaughn  10 месяцев назад

      If you're in India, I would recommend subscribing to Apple Music.
      It's available for Android as well and only costs ₹99 per month and you can stream all the high-res music you'd ever want. I made a video on the correct settings to use with the Apple music app on my RUclips channel.
      Watch that video. Change the settings in the app as described in the video.
      Connect a decent external DAC and your favourite headphones/IEMs and you're all set!

    as a Tidal user, with a DAC and Moondrop Blessing 3, do I really need that app?

    • @meh-hair-Vaughn
      @meh-hair-Vaughn  9 месяцев назад +2

      Not really. I think you should be fine with your current setup.
      Even if the Tidal app is not designed to bypass current Android's re-sampling quirk, and the audio is indeed getting resampled to 48 kHz when streaming through the Tidal app, the audio quality should be sufficiently good to enjoy with your external DAC and Blessing 3. I doubt you'll notice the difference.
      However, at the end of the day, nothing beats:
      A) Owning all your music outright.
      B) Bit-perfect playback.
      So you make the decision. How important are points A and B mentioned above to you...?

      @@motivationmore7025 I just learnt that the official Tidal app for Android now bypasses the Android OS resampling limitation and sends the audio signal 'bit-perfect' to the connected USB DAC. Google this. You'll find a few articles on it. I believe there's an article by Darko Audio on this.
      Which means for Bit Perfect playback through Tidal, you might just be able to use the official Tidal app for Android.

    When I am streaming through the app using qobuz or title it doesn't show the file extension, it only shows the resolution bitrate and so forth which matches the metadata but it only says file where it should say Flack or otherwise, when I play a track that is downloaded to my device itself it will display m4a as the file extension but not while streaming from qobuz or title, is there a way to fix this?

    • @meh-hair-Vaughn
      @meh-hair-Vaughn  10 месяцев назад +2

      If my memory serves me, I think when streaming through Tidal or Qobuz you don't really have the ability to see the file extension.
      You can only see the file extension while playing music files that are stored locally on your device. Not while streaming.

      I'm not sure if the official Apple Music app for Android bypasses the 48kHz resampling limitation of the Android OS and sends audio 'bit-perfect' to the connected USB-C DAC...
      Even if it doesn't, you should still enjoy very very good audio quality with the chain of sources you described in your comment, even if there is resampling going on.
      The difference might be un-noticeable to you...
      I myself use Apple Music for lossless audio, and am fine with it even if it doesn't send audio 'bit-perfect' to the USB-C DAC. For two reasons - 1) Apple music's collection is FAR superior to my personal collection of music and I just don't have unlimited money to individually purchase each track, and 2) I am able to use the system-wide EQ on Android OS with the Apple Music app if I ever need to for certain songs that haven't been mixed and mastered well.
      If you are using the Apple Music app though, just be sure to change settings in the app. I made a video on that so go watch it for how to do that.
      Hope this helped!

      This app will work with the LG V30 and it's internal DAC, however, I'm not sure what the Apple Music app has to do with UAPP.
      UAPP is a separate app for your own music files (i.e. music files that you have purchased and now own) that are locally stored on your device/micro SD card.
      Apple Music is essentially a monthly-subscription streaming service.
      Hope this helped.
