UPDATE: Jan 2024 -- Added more music recommendations to the video description! Enjoy!
Bro please make tutorial on hiby music app as many like me who can't purchase the subscription of uapp . It would be helpful for many people and there is no tutorial on hiby music app on RUclips so you will get benefitted too as you explain everything with ease.😅
Hey brother I don't see anything in the video description
@@txn4030 That's not possible. There's probably something wrong on your end. The contents of the video description are showing up just fine.
@@AmanSingh-mi1mk There is no 'subscription' to UAPP app. It's just a one-time purchase.
As for Hiby app, these days I don't have access to mic/camera/recording software so can't do it right now. Thanks for understanding.
Very clear and concise video. Thank you. Just got myself an app going to try it out.
Thanks this is very helpful
You are very welcome!
You are a GREAT MAN.. Selam!
Tks for the info !
Is this also applicable on any android tablet ?
I just tried poweramp. I love that one. Gonna give this a try
I have been using Poweramp for years. Recently switched to UAPP and will never go back. Major reason I prefer UAPP is it's far more responsive and snappy when it comes to library browsing. When it comes to audio quality, both are great. I am using the app with a Hiby R4, not an Android phone.
Nice Video, Hania Rani from Studio s2 just sounds great!
Glad you like it!
Added more music recommendations to the video description! Enjoy!
What if i download this app and tweek it on and car's andriod HU? Does it help with the sound quality?
Thank you for this! I am just getting into HiFi and slowly building my first setup. So far I have a freestyle m15 DAC, now I'm thinking if I should buy MoonDrops Blessings 3 or wait for the dusk version to come out! Awesome video.
You're very welcome! Yes, I'm relatively new to HiFi as well. The problem is, once you get into this hobby, you can only come out on the other side once you've gone broke! Haha! 😅
I'm interested in the Blessing 3 as well. Hope to be able to audition them soon...
Cheers!

USB Dac is sending audio 88.2khz but every file on my android still says 44.1khz with all the settings you recommended any idea how fo fix? Thank you
Hey .
Kinda offtopic to this video but i want to know that
Is there any way to bypass Apple EU USC C DAC limitations on Android?
I was using neutron player app to bypass it but now it doesn't seem to work.
Do you know any info regarding it ?
Is there any extra bass and terrible like poweramp music player...
Well, this works with all the other apps or only this app?
Trust in this proper Upsample can improve Audio the theory was done in 1920s ( a fast car can reach top speed on a open highway)
Since trying these settings I’m not getting audio anymore through wired. I
For the android audio section thers 3 options first there's fixed 44.100hz the secound is device native sample rate and the third is variable rate. Which of the three should I use?
You can leave it on 'Variable Rate' if you want, but in any case, make sure 'Play through Android' is unchecked.

How can one download album art to uapp? Thx
Hi, I asked an audio "guru" on whose advise I'd bought a well regarded DAC dongle & an IEM, if UAPP would improve the sound quality.
He said it would if you're on Android 13 or below.
But Android 14 no longer resample the data so there's no benefit with buying the UAPP.
Your take?
I think he might be right.
I believe Android 14 no longer has the resampling issue, from what I've heard...
But still, you may want to buy the UAPP app just for it's user interface.
It has a very good UI/UX design that I much prefer over the stock music player on Android.
Do you know if using DAC with BT LDAC codec (fiio btr5) is also going to limit file size to 44.1?
got my answer from some other videos
What did you find?? I'm trying to find that out too
Can you explain your comment at the beginning that this video is not that useful for people that use wireless/Bluetooth buds? What offline music player would you recommend for that situation? Thanks!
The thing is, Bluetooth in it's current form (as of late-2023) doesn't support transfer of lossless audio wirelessly. It compresses audio and then transfers it since it just doesn't have sufficient bandwidth.
That's why if you use wireless earphones, which typically use Bluetooth, you won't benefit all that much from the main feature of this app.
Don't get me wrong, you can still use this app with wireless bluetooth earbuds since, according to me, it has one of the best user interfaces of all music player apps and is extremely feature-rich.
That being said, I would still recommend using an external USB-C DAC along with wired earphones (IEMs) to get the best audio quality...
@@meh-hair-Vaughn Thanks very much, I appreciate the explanation. I just have Bluetooth buds, therefore it seems I can just judge the apps on features and interface (rather than audio quality). I am looking for a new audio player but am a bit overwhelmed by the number of different apps available. So many people are saying use Poweramp, Musicolet etc etc. I currently use VLC and don't like the interface. I'll give UAPP a go.
Hiby app on mobile also offers by-passing Android audio processing and it is free. Should I stick with it or buy the UAPP. I don't know which sounds better Hiby or UAPP and I have a DAC (ifi go link) and IEM (Truthear hexa). What should I do please recommend?
I'm not sure you would experience a difference in sound quality, assuming the Hiby app is also sending the audio signal out in 'bit perfect' mode to the external DAC.
What I really like about the UAPP app is it's user interface. So between Hiby and UAPP, assuming their functionality is the same, it might just come down to personal preference for UI/UX.
Thanks!
@@meh-hair-Vaughn Hiby is free and do you know any cheaper source where we can download hi res music?
Can you please let me know if you are aware of it ?
From my personal experience I have preferred UAPP. But I would say you have nothing to lose by trying Hiby.
Thank you for these videos, I have been using UAPP for several years and this video is very helpful for those new to using the app and you have suggested all the necessary steps required. 👍🏿
@@Mr.P001 You are welcome!
Thankyou for this! It's a shame HiBy app doesn't show whether the music is playing bit perfectly or not, like the UAPP. When i played a flac file on both samsung music and HiBy app, i could barely say the difference. I guess UAPP is worth a shot considering Hiby's shortcomings.
Thank you for the comment. Although, please don't get hung up on 'bit perfect'.
I often use EQ which just makes the music sound much better as compared to 'bit-perfect'.
Sometimes, you just need EQ to correct for deficiencies in your hearing/in the music/in your headphones, etc.
Bit-perfect is not the end-all be-all.
@@meh-hair-Vaughn Audiophile purists led me to embrace the notion that only bit-perfect reproduction can truly capture the essence of music. Rookie mistakes😅 Or maybe my hearing is just mid..
@@vaishnavprasad7789 Nah, that's one thing I've realized over the years. EQ is your friend.
I EQ around 80% of the songs I listen to, even if that means no bit-perfect, it just sounds better.
Only around 20% I listen to 'bit perfect', since I don't feel the need to EQ these 20% of songs.
Bottom line - TRUST YOUR EARS.
@@meh-hair-Vaughn Ty. This helps alot.
Well what if my phone have 3.5 mm jack do i still need hi res dac??
In most cases, no you don't.
If you have a fairly recent Andriod phone from a major brand (Samsung, OnePlus, LG, Google, etc.), it'll probably have an internal Hi-Res DAC in it. All you'll have to do is change the settings in the UAPP app as I've described in this video and then plug in your IEMs into the 3.5mm jack.
However, do keep in mind that different DACs may have different sound signatures.
So by connecting an external USB-C DAC to your phone and then connecting your IEMs to the external DAC, you might get a different sound (might be better, might be worse - you won't know until you try).
Hope this helped!
@xexstartheyoutuber2424 I stand corrected! Apparently, you might just see an improvement in audio quality if you use an external DAC, at least according to John Darko of Darko Audio.
Darko Audio put out a video of the SONY Xperia 1 V phone that also has a 3.5mm jack that addresses the very question that you had.
According to his tests, it seems that you would in fact benefit from an external DAC!
Be sure to watch his video. Cheers!
I am about to get a Sony 1 iii , does it have an internal dac
Can we control the sound of audio from other apps when we give permission to play through usb dac.
That's a good question. I'm not sure to be honest...
No you can't as the UAPP takes control of your audio
@@joelo5164 Thanks bro 👍
there is no bit perfect option when I click there!
HiRes driver audio format?
Can i set 32bit or 32bit float
Try both.
@@meh-hair-VaughnI tried but didn't feel any different. so my question is.
Is it actually increases audio quality or not?
Or do i set this option (Auto)?

So you can't use this for streaming?
When you say 'streaming', what exactly do you mean?
You can 'stream' music that is stored on your NAS drive through this app, as well as uPnP and DLNA.
You can also 'stream' music through Tidal and Qobuz (if you have a subscription) through this app. This app has built-in Tidal and Qobuz integration.
Other than that, I'm not sure what you mean by 'streaming' in the context of this app.
@@meh-hair-Vaughn amazon music
Does uapp one time purchase?
Yes. One-time purchase.
I use Poco F5 and this phone support Hi res etc(Audio jack 3.5mm available), does i still need DAC? Btw This app is amazing tho, thanks for great video 👍
I'm not sure to be honest.
While the internal Hi-Res DACs are good enough for most purposes, they just aren't powerful enough to drive some high impedance headphones (like some Sennheisers and HiFiMans) or make them sound their best.
Most internal Hi-Res DACs can drive IEMs though.
But again, just because they can technically 'drive' them doesn't necessarily mean that having an external DAC won't benefit.
For all you know, using an external DAC might give you better sound quality (if not 'better' sound quality, perhaps a 'different' sound profile that you might enjoy more).
Again, you won't know until you try...
Hope this helped!
@@meh-hair-Vaughn thanks for the clarification on this, glad to find out your channel 👍

Be careful in what you said because in that video John Darko did not give any indication that he by passed the original Android drive to use the HiRes Direc driver, no did he have USB Audio Player Pro installed to do so. In fact two posters are telling him to do so but John Darko did not notice the posts.@@meh-hair-Vaughn
For iOS ?
No, this video is only applicable to Android users.
For iOS, I would recommend subscribing to Apple Music. You’ll get all the lossless music in the world for only ₹99 per month.
IOS is not for hires music bro
@@Riko_AB It can be provided you use the Apple Music app to stream/download your music in Lossless or High-Res Lossless quality. You can then attach a Lightning to USB adapter to your iPhone (14 and older) and attach a dongle DAC to it to get the best audio quality.
Ios doesn't need such an app as iOS natively does bit perfect audio whether you play Spotify or Apple Music
No one uses Apple these days
Sir, give me downloadlink Mod Free. Please
The app is available from the Google Play store for around $8 (as of early 2024) as a one-time purchase (no subscription).
