I go grocery shopping tomorrow and I think I'll try this because it looks delicious! I usually make Chile rellenos by themselves or in a layered casserole. Lord I love Mexican food!!!
I'm gonna put this on a pizza with chicken or maybe ham. You might have seen the hack before, but with that brand of crema you can take a single chopstick and poke a hole in the middle of the seal when you first buy it. Then its like a squirt bottle for tacos, meal prep burritos, or thin lines on top of enchiladas etc. It prevents the messy gunkyness that their jar tends to promote.
So I’m 53 almost 54 and was never interested in cooking until the pandemic & I took the furlough. My 13 year old son & I started watching utube cooking shows & we started cooking I found you & others that I absolutely love. We or I usually cook for my wife. Only problem with all this cooking I was a somewhat healthy person I was 180-185 at the most. Next thing you know I’m bumping 210. Lol😂. I just want to take the time to say thank you for your channel & all the great food you make & then I turn around & make it for the family. Keep up the spicy dishes I love it. My son not so much.
I bet this would make an incredible alternative to spinach dip! Cut the veg finer & add a bit more cream and that would be an unexpected app (or pasta sauce!). Thanks for the inspiration!
I have developed a new respect forthe poblano pepper over the last couple years. I use the roasted poblanos in a lot of dishes. I am looking forward to trying this recipe. Keep up the great work Mike !!
Man, this recipe sounds awesome, definitely going to try it ASAP! BTW---I have grown some poblano peppers, several plants side by side, and experimented with scoring the leaves of half the plants when they were still pretty small---basically just used a pair of garden shears and made small cuts on the edges of most of the leaves, even cutting some of the smaller leaves right off near the stem. There was a very noticeable increase in heat with the peppers that come from those plants! I'd heard this helped make hot peppers hotter and so I did it with all my peppers that year. I mean, it makes sense since capsaicin is meant to reduce herbivory from mammals, and I made the plant react as if it had been munched on so it stepped it up for protection. Just a tip if you want your poblanos packing a little extra!
I made this when my garden was really loaded with poblanos. My husband loved it, so I roasted a ton of peppers and vac packed them in the freezer so I can make this any time. It goes so well on a taco bar! I also made it with two bags of frozen corn and served as a side dish. Thanks for this recipe.
I couldn't imagine this being as good as you said, I eventually made it. It is amazing! I had some cooked sausages and added some thin slices to a tortilla of this-I liked it better plain. It really is that crave worthy!
Heading to the Mexican grocery for the ingredients, looking forward to trying this. Discovered this channel with the creamy jalapeno sauce - loved it - now my son and I share your recipes regularly. Thanks for a great channel, excellent easy-to-follow recipes and a fun way to stay in touch with my chili loving son!
I can imagine this, as you served it, with a super healthy dose of some spicy sauce... Fabulous food. I took a trip throughout the crema world at a local Mexican grocery. It's amazing the differences between the 4-5 different ones I brought home, 4-5 different times. From light to quite heavy. Loved them all. I'm thankful for delicious food and chili peppers. 😊👍🎄🌶❤
Love rajas de chile con crema :) a quick tip you can cover them with oil before roasting them it’s easy to peel and you can even do it with a spoon . Poblano peppers are good 😋😋
I can tell before even making this for the first time, it's going to be a staple in my kitchen. I'll definitely be adding the jalapeno strips, knew that before you mentioned it. Made your emulsified jalapeno sauce for the first time today. I frequently smoke peppers, so that variation will be soon. I make many sauces, and you leveled up my kitchen with the emulsified sauce. It will be made into many sauces. New subscriber. Love your channel and my love of chilis knows no bounds. Cheers!!!
Oh yeah, that looks deeeelicios. I always pay attention to new pepper recipes... especially poblanos. And I agree, you gotta use the Mexican creama. Thanks for posting. 🌶
Just made this, turned out fantastic. If you wanted to stay vegetarian-ish and stretch it out I think adding kidney beans would be great. I also think this would make a killer topping for nachos.
I am looking forward to trying this recipe. Will more than likely add a protein to it. May also consider using it as a filing for tamales. Thank you for the recipe
Nice! Great vegetarian dish for the times when you need one. This reminded me of one of my favorite Mexican dishes, pollo Ala crema. I think I could sauté some chicks first, then follow this recipe and I’d have a great pollo Ala crema (might have to add in some paprika).
I love working at a restaurant with a flame grill. I can cut open a pepper, deseed it, and then roast it on the grill with a steak weight on top. No muss no fuss, perfect every time.
I'm sure its delicious but it doesn't look appealing in the thumbnail. As soon as I can get my hands on some decent poblano's I'm going to give this a try.

I love roasting chilies on my comal in the house just smells so good 😊
Same! One of the best smells.

Yummo. Enjoy!
This on a pizza, that’s beautiful man!!!
You will want to parbake your pizza crust. This is quite the wet dish and will moisten uncooked crust too much

A really easy (non-messy) way to get the charred skin off peppers is with a paper towel or 2
👍👍
"I'm always messy". You filthy beast! 😝
=) =)
I bet some grilled firm fish would be good in it. Just a little.
Go for it! Let me know how it goes.
I'm sure its delicious but it doesn't look appealing in the thumbnail. As soon as I can get my hands on some decent poblano's I'm going to give this a try.
