I understand why people are blaming the doctor, but it seems like her death was inevitable the way you tell the story. She didn't happen upon a bad doctor. She was looking for a bad doctor. She was told no; not without clearance and then went to another doctor who would do the surgery without requiring clearance. If the second doctor asked for clearance, she would have gone elsewhere. The moral of the story is: sometimes rejection is a good thing.
Was going to say exactly this. Figured I couldn't be the only one that saw it. The doctor is fully responsible for HIS decisions, but someone that is shopping for a 'yes' man in a doctor is asking for trouble. And sadly often finds it.
As a doctor, you need to make sure your patient is fit for surgery. Her death being inevitable is WHY her doctor is at fault. They did three surgeries at once which is not always recommended and they did it on a woman that another surgeon already refused to perform on because she was NOT MEDICALLY FIT.
Yes, but also no, just because this is true doesn’t mean the second doctor isn’t to blame. He still is a a bad doctor for saying yes when they clearly should have said no.

Cardiac Clearances are a very important thing to get prior to a procedure...especially if you have highblood pressure or high cholesterol. Or are over 60 and have a family hx of heart disease. Its important to know if your heart is healthy enough before going under anesthesia. You can end up having a heart attack or throwing a clot.
Scary thing is with health problems you can pass away under the knife there was that risk when my dad had surgery luckily he was fine and is all better now but its scary to think that even life saving surgerys can kill you
@@bryantrobin7087it's fine if he wants to support Trump, but it's too far when he wants to run for president and later says positive stuff about Hitler... he got cancelled by everyone and committed career suicide, but maybe he wanted that. Anyway I hope he finds peace, because losing your mother and being married to a Kardashian is rough.
This is a little misleading. The doctor wanted to keep her under his care after surgery, but West insisted on going home under the care of her nephew who is a Registered nurse. Her nephew left her alone with family and friends, who were not medical professionals. Mrs West also failed to disclose her health challenges which included an incident just weeks before the surgery occurred. If she had remained under the doctors care , perhaps she would have survived, but her friends did not know what to do. By the time they called an ambulance, it was too late.
She also told her surgeon that her registered nurse will look after her, but she didn't ask her registered nurse (nephew) to look after her. So him leaving her alone was justified
Thank you for letting the public know that. I understand in the end Dr. Jan should have stuck to his guns when he said no the problem I've always had is how he was portrayed immediately after she died.
If a doctor doesn't think you're medically capable of going underneath the knife without having repercussions because of your health then you might NEED to listen to them. Not because they don't want to do the procedure or help you out but they are just warning you from their professional experience, that doesn't mean go find someone who's willing to do it, just means to listen and pay attention because there will be consequences.
Doctor doesn't think she can handle surgery, then don't do the surgery. Plastic surgeon can refuse service. Its both of the parties fault but the doctor holds more accountability because he understood she did not do the testing before the surgery.
@@PourTheYa I say it's 50/50 She was warned by first doctor, she chose to take the risk He should have done his own test, and not performed surgery on high risk patient
Exactly. I know someone that has severe back problems but their doctors advised against surgery bc there is a big chance(70%) surgery would put them in a wheelchair. They had several doctors saying the same. If done correctly, the surgery could fix their problems but the risk it too great
The saddest part of this loss is her son mental health not being able to properly grieve the loss of his mother 😢 RIP Donda West. Your son needs you the most!
Stories like this are why I wish that folks took the health risks of elective and cosmetic surgeries seriously. Even if you're in good health going into it, it can still be very intensive on your body.
They did take it seriously. Whether or not any possible “bad things” ended up happening in the end, doesn’t mean they didn’t go into it knowing all the risks & still being completely ready & WILLING to risk them. Ppl take them seriously, believe that… they just take other things more seriously…. Like, their own choice in the matter, perhaps?! Sheesh. These are not children we’re talking about. We’re taking about an ELECTIVE surgery. The name itself implies that every one of them are willful choices made regardless of &/or in spite of any/all possible risks. Get a grip. Ppl have the right to make their own choices. Even if they end up dying from it… they made the choice to have a surgery with lots of possible/potential risks involved, THEY made that choice for themselves-whether or not anyone else likes &/or agrees w/it is completely irrelevant. 🤷♀️ We all only get this one life, that is it… this surgery was HER choice; made by herself, for herself, risking her life, & her’s alone. There is nothing “wrong” with someone going after something they really & truly (& often quite fiercely) want for themselves-no matter the outcome after the fact. (Other than any actual malpractice &/or legit mistakes made by &/or because of a surgeon. This would be something *completely* different.) However, in terms of experiencing any/all previously-warned & 100% agreed-upon surgery & post-op risks/complications… which yes, includes serious/severe adverse reactions and even death… these are all things she chose, of clear mind & body, for herself & signed off on proceeding anyway. That’s a risk she was clearly willing to take. She knew the risks, she knew she wasn’t a good candidate for surgery, but she still wanted this surgery in spite of all that. 🤷♀️ She’s a grown woman, & it is & always was HER effin right to make THAT CHOICE for herself. To opinionatedly & judgmentally call her vain, stupid, selfish, & other such childish names bc she died going for something she truly wanted & that which she chose for herself-despite any/all risks-is not only completely ridiculous, but totally ignorant, short-sighted, & incredibly narrow-minded, as well. If she had lived, ppl wouldn’t be saying 98% of this nonsense…. [oh, right… here’s the kicker] EVEN THOUGH EACH & EVERY single possible risk, adverse-reaction/event, post-op complications, & DEATH, would’ve been not only IDENTICAL to the ones she got BEFORE surgery/death (bc yea, they’re flippin’ identical! Duh!) but just as real & as much of a distinct possibility as it ever was - AND IT. MOST. DEFINITELY. ALWAYS. WAS. 🤦♀️ Srsly, some ppl…. they just make no effin sense!!!😖

There are so many people who "shop doctors" just waiting to see who is the most lax with the prerequisites. Too many women with over BMI of 30-35 going out of the states to get full mommy makeovers (lipo 360, tummy tuck, breast lift and/or augmentation, and BBL in one go) 1- bc of the price difference, and 2 - bc some doctors out of country will do it for the $$$ ("medical tourism"). Im not against olastic surgery at all, but it's surgery, you will be sliced and diced, it's not a filter.
Some people think they’re invincible and that problems only happen to others… especially when they’re younger. Plastic surgery is no joke and the recovery is pretty brutal; Donda West had a LOT of procedures at one time for someone who was over 60 years old. I don’t know who the surgeon was, but I’m glad he got his license taken away for a while.
Also just an bbl alone is an extremely painful and hard recovery and very risky surgery, I can’t imagine getting that many procedures at once. Super high risk for complications plus terrible pain for weeks.
So easy to not mention important information that would preclude her from surgery but any Dr should do tests as most know desperate spoilt patients willingly lie and put their lives at risk for beauty. Kanye should hold his mother equally responsible for her death but that never happens
This is so sad... I remember meeting her at the beginning of his career... She introduced herself and I asked her what she did for a living. She said, "Oh I just help manage my son who is a singer..." I thought, awe, how sweet... Until I realized who her son was... Ha ha! Rest in peace Donda... ❤🙏

Silver lining to this story: (former) California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger subsequently signed the "Donda West Law" in 2009, legislation that makes it mandatory for patients to receive medical clearance through a physical examination before undergoing elective cosmetic surgery.
I heard she switched surgeons because the original md requested an EKG which she didn't want, probably because she knew she had an underlying irregular heart rhythm. If one doctor already told her that she isn’t fit for surgery, then why did she seek out another doctor? A tummy tuck really that important than your own cardiac health? Clare Banks-Smith- Apologies, I neglected to say that, just as Kanye West, my dear father was also diagnosed with bi-polar disease. It is a very tragic illness to have Clare, on many levels. 🕊
Yes I remember that. It was very irresponsible for her to disregard the first surgeons advice. It’s now worth losing your life over. Every little surgery you need or want done, you have to go through a health evaluation to see if you are healthy enough to get surgery. Last year I had 2 surgery in the same month and both times, I had to do the prep op. No way would I do surgery without doing a pre-op
True, I have a heart murmur and needed female surgery a cupla years ago, got mad cos the Dr needed all kinds of tests before it but by God’s grace I’m here to talk about it👍
It was publicly noted that she shouldn't have had plastic because of her health. The son should have hired a trainer for his mother. That was 2 many surgeries.
He may have offered, we don't know. She probably wanted to go the surgery route and not the trainer route being that she shopped for a doctor who would operate on her anyway even though she may have had a potential cardiac issue.
Oh my God, I promise I was just thinking about Kanye's the other day and he probably really still misses her. They seemed so close and then I wondered what went wrong in the surgery. Thank you for satisfying my curiosity!!!
So she had one doctor tell her she wasn't fit for surgery and rather than heeding that advice, instead she shopped doctors until she found someone shady enough to do it. Then they blame the doctor? Ok.
Listening to your doctor + doing research on surgeons is extremely important, but blaming the poor woman for her death is unnecessary and gross. Please have some empathy.
Yes this is exactly what happened. Her cardiologist wouldn't clear her. They paid another doctor a ton of cash to do it anyway. And instead of doing it slowly, like 1 procedure at a time, they did everything. I had a breast reduction at 26. What should have been a 2hr procedure outpatient turned into a 5hr inpatient procedure. You can't predict these things. And the amount of pain I was in was horrific. She should have been hospitalized. She would still be here if they would have listened to the cardiologist.
I will say that you are always advised to get a second opinion or third opinion. So if she was honest with the plastic surgeon and he said that he would be able to use the proper precautions to ensure her safety even with cardiac issues then he was being upfront, and she was aware of the risks. But it doesn’t sound like that was the case
This is accurate. A few years back I wanted some procedures done. When I gave the nurse my height and weight she told me the doctor wouldn't even do a consultation because I was at risk for dying on the table. Fast forward 4 years and 120lbs lighter. Same physician did the consultation but I am having to do multiple procedures. A good physician will not risk your life to cut corners. Yeah its a bit more costly yet I thoroughly understand why.
The accredited rational doctor who prob cost more $$ said don’t do it as he isn’t a moron. She was cheap and full of vain and decided to ignore it him and go to some sleezy doctor who’d do it and not even check her like the first doctor would’ve… which is why he said no. She did it… the stress from the surgery caused her to have a heart attack.
Sadly to say and this is no disrespect to this woman but it’s ironic that him who lost his mom to plastic surgery or it atleast the surgery was a factor and he was married to someone who got their surgeon on speed dial.
We do regulate, but many plastic surgeons will cut corners and do the minimum to be the cheapest option. It's not as strict as other certifications for medical procedures because it's not usually something insurance will cover, so the laws are different in some ways. When doing anything related to health you should shop around though, because not all doctors are created equal. Second and third opinions are common for several situations that aren't even related to elective work, so it makes sense to shop for elective work.
Sounds like he shoulda just accepted the fact that his mom decided to go forward even tho she'd already been told previously to get a physical 1st. The Dr did screw up but ultimately I feel like his mother is the responsible party here
Yup just like a few of these celebrities that randomly became BIG after their parents died from “unknown” circumstances which we are now finding out about… “Celebrity doctor”? Yeah okay. He was signed to roc nation…
As tragic as this is, she killed herself. She went under the knife even after being told that she might not be fit for surgery. She purposefully found somebody who would do the surgery without proper clearance. If it wasn’t this doctor, it would’ve been some other goober. She prioritized her vanity over her health and her family suffered the consequences. The surgeon is still an awful person though, sad
She had a lot done at once ion know how much you can do in one setting, but you the person gotta take your health more serious, you gotta have clearance from a medical dr to make sure you good why would you the person go against that.
As if being in good health makes you immune 100% from complications. The truth it doesn't, and patients take the risks when they do surgeries, I'm sure the risks are listed in the papers they sign.
It doesn’t sound like she didn’t pick the right doctor. She did her due diligence as a patient and picked a very skilled surgeon. The problem was the doctor was unethical or immoral but there is no research she could’ve done that would’ve found that out and prevented her death. I guess the onus is on the patient now to know exactly what needs to happen before, during, and after surgery, that’s a lot of burden on a patient.
But didn’t he say that another doctor came forward, saying he denied her surgery? I was thinking that meant that she then went to another doctor trying to get the surgery she wanted. I guess that other doctor shouldn’t have approved it. But maybe she shouldn’t have been searching for one that would? I dunno. We definitely don’t know the whole story, and I’m just thinking out loud
@@coconutorange7609 No, she was not fit to under go any kind of surgery. Her death was not caused by the plastic surgery itself but rather the stress on the body that comes with any surgery. If you can't understand that I don't know how to help you

I’m confused. Most your video explains how the doctor was not at fault and how Kanye’s mom even ignored his medical advice to get a check up before surgery but the last line says choose the right doctor? Is it his fault or not?
I know it's an unpopular opinion but I truly do feel like she was a sacrifice now whether it is spiritual thing or just a Hollywood thing I don't know but I still think she was a sacrifice
Here’s the thing tho- she went to one doctor and didn’t get the “yes” that she wanted. So she went to another that gave her the answer she wanted. This as on her. She was recommended to get a medical assessment. She ignored it and went to a different doctor to circumvent it. I don’t think this is 100% on the doctor. He could have refused and she would have just gone elsewhere until she got the answer she wanted. She was safer with the doctor who did her surgery than some seedy guy or worse - another country doing it. So i dont know, I find it to be her own fault.
It’s her fault for ignoring advice of the first doctor. But it’s 100% the second Doctor’s fault, she could have gone to 10 doctors and it would be the fault of the 10th doctor that said yes. She went to him for a second opinion, meaning he would have said yes to another patient as their first opinion.

Okay this is what I thought as well, I think there was an interview about it??
She also told her surgeon that her registered nurse will look after her, but she didn't ask her registered nurse (nephew) to look after her.
So him leaving her alone was justified
God that's sad... I wonder how different things would be if she were still here today

If one doctor already told her that she isn’t fit for surgery, then why did she seek out another doctor? A tummy tuck really that important than your own cardiac health? With his money, there was absolutely no reason why they avoided a health screening unless she was well aware she was unable to pass one.
Nooo switch those. 80% the doctors fault since they could literally just deny the patient. The patient cannot do it if the doctor doesn't agree. The doctor decided to do it. 80% the doctors fault.
@@nono-fb8tr I know in this world it is easy to shift the blame to doctors, but she was turned down. That is on her to deny how she has treated her body and the denial to accept the consequences. She is responsible for her actions. The doctor, upon reviewing her situation, would have been made aware the others turned her down. Please respect my point of view, I suffered for 17 years while taking care of my father up to his death, and it actually pierced my heart when I read your text. Yes I remember that. It was very irresponsible for her to disregard the first surgeons advice. It’s now worth losing your life over. Every little surgery you need or want done, you have to go through a health evaluation to see if you are healthy enough to get surgery.

As a fan of his, I've been sad about her passing since it happened. He was better when he had her.
It's not about picking the right doctor it's about listening to the doctor.
Yo mom should have go to the cinema that night
Oh my God, I promise I was just thinking about Kanye's the other day and he probably really still misses her. They seemed so close and then I wondered what went wrong in the surgery. Thank you for satisfying my curiosity!!!
This is so unfortunate and it is always best to listen to your doctor regarding these kind of issues.😟
when it comes to plastic surgery, I trust no one but Korean doctors
So she had one doctor tell her she wasn't fit for surgery and rather than heeding that advice, instead she shopped doctors until she found someone shady enough to do it. Then they blame the doctor? Ok.
Listening to your doctor + doing research on surgeons is extremely important, but blaming the poor woman for her death is unnecessary and gross. Please have some empathy.
@@RebaMcImTired I'm not blaming her. I'm just saying it would be different if she hadn't been warned. She was willing to take the risk.
@@RebaMcImTired it is her fault. If someone tells you NO because your health is at risk, but you do it anyway, it IS your fault.

@@bf1822 how’s your KEAGLES going?
So she never had medical clearance?
The accredited rational doctor who prob cost more $$ said don’t do it as he isn’t a moron. She was cheap and full of vain and decided to ignore it him and go to some sleezy doctor who’d do it and not even check her like the first doctor would’ve… which is why he said no. She did it… the stress from the surgery caused her to have a heart attack.
More like sacrifice graduation blew tf up like 2 days after
She was turned down several times by several different doctors. She finally found one that would do it for her. Sadly it cost her life.
NO!?.... FOLLOW THE DOCTOR'S RECOMMENDATIONS...THE DOCTOR CLEARLY SAID HE DIDN'T THINK SHE WAS FIT FOR SURGERY
Sadly to say and this is no disrespect to this woman but it’s ironic that him who lost his mom to plastic surgery or it atleast the surgery was a factor and he was married to someone who got their surgeon on speed dial.
"pick the right doctor". We're suppose to be regulating this stuff so I don't have to shop around for a doctor knowing the wrong choice could kill me
We do regulate, but many plastic surgeons will cut corners and do the minimum to be the cheapest option.
The Dr did screw up but ultimately I feel like his mother is the responsible party here
he ain’t the same after the incident 🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️
Thanks for bringing the FACTS
Shocking story: she was sacrificed
Yes! Kanye wanted in that $20,000,000 club.
He's crazy cuz he feels guilty
@@ImHappyToBeHereToo he's not crazy,he's bipolar :// and the fact that yall believe she was "sacrificed" is gross

Yup just like a few of these celebrities that randomly became BIG after their parents died from “unknown” circumstances which we are now finding out about…
“Celebrity doctor”? Yeah okay. He was signed to roc nation…
it was his sacrifice to keep him famous
As tragic as this is, she killed herself. She went under the knife even after being told that she might not be fit for surgery. She purposefully found somebody who would do the surgery without proper clearance. If it wasn’t this doctor, it would’ve been some other goober. She prioritized her vanity over her health and her family suffered the consequences. The surgeon is still an awful person though, sad
I’ve been to the house in the third pic LOL
I do not get it what is the plastic surgery mistake?
@@coconutorange7609 No, she was not fit to under go any kind of surgery. Her death was not caused by the plastic surgery itself but rather the stress on the body that comes with any surgery. You have to be in relatively good health and in stable condition to have any surgery unless it is an emergency surgery where the person's life depends on it to be done immediately. If you can't understand that I don't know how to help you
It’s almost like doctor shopping for a yes man when you’ve previously been denied elective cosmetic surgeries due to being high risk is a bad idea. Hint hint. Donda did this to herself.
@@clarebanks-smith2979 she didn’t die from the surgery though. Doesn’t mean she wasn’t high risk but she died from terrible aftercare. She chose family to care for her instead of recuperating at a medical facility. That’s why she died
Cap he sacrificed her for his fame we all know that
Illuminati is real!
He is a monster
That was too much!!!
I am so proud of that young man he is the only youngest to do something like that for the people the other one was Danny Thomas an actor who made it possible for kids who had cancer and their families to get help without pay I honor both of these guys and may God bless you too gentleman for your love
I’m confused.
Most your video explains how the doctor was not at fault and how Kanye’s mom even ignored his medical advice to get a check up before surgery but the last line says choose the right doctor? Is it his fault or not?
What I got out of this : when you hit your 50s, age gracefully. With full acceptance of aging. Not to look for a better surgeon .
I know it's an unpopular opinion but I truly do feel like she was a sacrifice now whether it is spiritual thing or just a Hollywood thing I don't know but I still think she was a sacrifice
I made a similar comment, you are the only other person I saw on here that understands what happened.
God is turning that bitterness in Kanye into gladness . 💜
It was “poor choice of a Doctor “. Dr Jan Adams was an excellent surgeon

Wao and he ended up with a Kardashian. It must in some way remind him everyday how his mother died just by looking at Kim.
He sacrificed his mother to be a billionaire. That is why he said he sold his soul for a happy meal.
My husbands Auntie had surgery and suffered a heart attack at home a couple of days later. She was "healthy"...
The story behind love everyone isn’t necessarily to shame the doctor it’s title explains it, the album was suppose to be about accepting everyone regardless of the past
