What a wonderful story! The two of you were destined to meet, that is so obvious - even if Arne's poor memory caused a slight delay! You really are the most delightful couple and I am sure all of us feel honoured to be a small part of your continuing journey. Here's to the next 20 years of Arne & Carlos!

Thank you for this Sit and Knit for a bit. I am a little late to watch it but my time has been dedicated to my family from Canada who managed to visit us, here in Italy for three weeks.
About Sainte Catherine. The feast is on the 25 th of November at least in France, where I come from. Among other she is the patron saint of the dressmakers, in France. And any fashion shop normally closes on this day. There is also a tradition, again in France, that if you are a young woman of 25 and not married you do a party on this day with a hat on your head and with your girlfriends. Forget to mention that the feast on the 25 th November is of Sainte Catherine of Alexandria, who as the tradition says, is buried on the Mount Sinai.
The other notable Sainte Catherine is Sainte Catherine of Sienna. She fought to have the popes come back to Rome from Avignon, France. Her feast is on the 29 th of April. (I checked my text with the notes from Sylvie Barnay, Maitre de conferences a l'universite Paul Verlaine in Metz, Chargee de Cours a l'Institut Catholique de Paris).
You talked to "changing with time and ready for changes". It happened to me in the last eight years. Going from Malta to Berlin, then to Italy. It is not always easy mostly when you are unprepared as I was. The first one to Germany was to accompany my husband. It just took me a long time to find a group where I could make my bobbin lace. I had been teaching in Malta for more than ten years and suddenly I was alone in front of my work with no one to talk to. However and after three years I was extremely lucky to find a group who not only accepted me but let me learn other craft such as weaving and knitting socks. And then there was the language. Towards the end I managed to make myself understood, even giving lace courses in German. Don't know if I could do it again :(.
Now we moved to Italy to be near our son and his family instead of being alone in Malta. Luckily I found a group to join for my bobbin lace. The language is more accessible for me but with Covid you don't meet many people. (Luckily there was a couple of guys from Norway who since last year have brighten my days).
Unfortunately the move is not yet done. I thought that I would stay until my end in Malta in the house we bought more than thirty years ago and now we are going to sell it but mostly emptying it. Thirty years of souvenirs but being a little like Arne I have to go through all the wool, threads, material accumulated during this time.
I hope that it was not too tedious to read my text. Never thought I would write so much. Please take care of yourself.
    Best regards, Catherine.

Watch your video and see coal black Freja against Carlos’s coal black sweater and a little pink Freja tongue floating like magic with no little dog attached. So cute!

Thank you for sharing the fabulous story of how you met and began your design careers together. Back in the summer of 2012, i wandered into the DogA in Olso to see what I thought was an exhibit about the knitted balls book and discovered so much more about the both of you as designers. I wasn't surprised, I guess, to see your modern take on the Marius sweater, but the dress designs were stunning. I remember the "Dolly Parton" collection and the dress with the exquisite cutouts. The royal family dolls were great too. I wonder what Queen Sonia thought about your portrayal of her? thank you so much for sharing such an intimate glimpse into your lives together.

Thanks for sharing your story. It was clear the universe meant for you to be together even if you had to get there via the ticket desk at Oslo Bus Station! I am so pleased I was able to meet you in person a couple of times at the Knitting and Stitching Show in London and you signed my Nordic Knits book for me. I remember being very impressed because when you asked where I lived and I mentioned the Isle of Wight, your love of historic houses showed when you immediately made the connection to Osborne House. I am knitting the Freya cardigan from that book right now and loving it. So many of us get such pleasure from sharing time with you, especially in these difficult times. Finally Carlos I have to say I am completely in awe of your memory for dates and details, so glad Covid did not take that from you!!

What a brilliant episode from my favorite down to earth designers! Such memories you’ve shared! Travels, people met...And even Einstein had a saying, “never memorize something you can look up.” So he didn’t know his phone number either 🤭 May you both have more fabulous adventures ahead. You deserve them! 🥰

The story behind how both of you met is interesting. Even more fascinating is the history behind the purchase of your home and business ventures.
