Hi Poh thank you so much for sharing your authentic Nonya Chicken recipe, I tried this evening and it has come out gorgeous. My family loves the smell and just cannot wait to taste it tomorrow for the flavours to kick in!!!! We are going it with Roti Channai store bought I admit but extremely excited now in trying it ober the weekend :-)
I love Poh's adorable style. She makes everything beautiful. Been a fan since Master Chef. Some will insist the ingredients should be pounded together to release more flavour, but honestly who cares as long as the curry tastes great! She's got fantastic recipes in her book.
I am echoing what others have said... You are a good teacher, Poh.. Your instructions are clear and what's better is you impart confidence to me, the viewer.. I feel like I can make this dish on my own. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing this video, Poh. You are a good teacher and I'm going to make it myself and share it with my friends in the UK. I love roti canai and miss Malaysia and its great food !!!!!!!!!!
i'm not quite sure but maybe you can search it up on google for the recipes..it might not be the same but for sure tasty :) sorry if im not helping and goodluck 👍🏻☺️
Omg! Poh! Like seriously woah! I watched you on Master chef Australia years back when I was a little kid (absolutely thought you should've won btw) and I always had an interest in cooking but master chef was just amazing, I'm at college now and I've moved into an apartment with a few Malaysians, they took me out to a Malaysian restaurant was amazing so I searched how to make it and here you are ...I hope this is your official channel :) glad to see you're doing well ^^
I am recently watching MasterChef Season 9 Ep 21 on invention tested. 1 of the contestant, Tamara used your Roti technic on her Pineapple Roti with Lemongrass Ice-Cream & Chili Caramel. Her dish wowed the judges & also a well known Thai Cook guested judge, David Thompson I cook Poh recipes as well. Her recipes really make my days.
There is no clear indication how much quantity for most of the ingredients. Unlike others, who will give clear instructions & amount for their respective ingredients
Cooking this at the moment! its coming up beautifully! I have always loved Malaysian Chicken curry and now i can make it myself thanks to you Poh!! thanks so much for sharing.
I loved Roti Canai when I was in Malaysia, but my favourite was Roti Canai Pisang (Banana) - its a desert roti, would you just add some chopped banana to the pasty and then fold over the pastry over before you fry it? I thought I'd need one of those big round frying plates to make it at home, but it seems I can do it with a regular frying pan after all! Thank you :)
How long do i knead the dough. Got my husband to make it butvit was a flop. He didn’t knead the dough long enough. It wasn’t smooth and after resting overnight was not soft and pliable. Roti was flat n hard
Dear Poh this is an awesome recipe, one of my favorite foods to eat. But the website link doesn't work. What is the name of the stinky ingredient you mentioned :)
I'm looking how to make a very similar dish. I had it at a restaurant but they changed the name so it was hard to look up. Every video i watch or anything i read is not exactly it, which is strange because it looked so simple! Like, really simple. I think it was Roti, served in thin pie shapes, with some type of curry dip. The dip had no chicken, but lots of potatoes, its a dip, not part of a large dish.
Curry leaves can be hard to find outside of South East Asia. But you can always substitute it with bay leaves and a squirt of lime juice. Still a bit far fetched and stripped down without the curry leaves but that shouldn't be a problem for most of us
yes of course it's Indian, Malaysian has 3 major races.. I'm just pointing out the food that is very common with Malaysian culture, and chicken tikka is uncommon compared to tandoori
Hallo Chef ms Yeow. Ok.. Gd job, thank u.. Kam Sia. !
tbs coconut cream 10 sprigs of curry leaves 1 star anise 2 whole cloves 1 cinnamon stick 1 1/2 kg chicken thigh fillets 500g baby chat potatoes, peeled, halved and parboiled 2 bird's eye chillies deseeded and halved lengthways 500ml coconut milk 1 Ttbs salt 1 tsp sugar Rempah (wet spice paste): 3 Tbs ground coriander 1 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp ground fennel 15 dried long red chillies*, deseeded*, soaked in boiling water until soft, drained and chopped 20g belacan 25g fresh turmeric root, peeled and sliced 3 cloves garlic, peeled, sliced 270g red eschallots OR Spanish onion, peeled, sliced 1/3 cup vegetable oil * Dried chillies - There are several types of dried chillies. For this recipe please choose the type that are about finger sized. The smaller ones are very hot and the broader, larger ones mild. Also pleasenever replace dried chillies with fresh ones as they don't impart the smokiness of flavour and depth of colour required for this dish. * Deseeding chillies - Before soaking, snip chillies into quarter segments with scissors into a colander with largish holes and then shake the seeds out.

How to make corn syrup
Dear Poh this is an awesome recipe, one of my favorite foods to eat. But the website link doesn't work. What is the name of the stinky ingredient you mentioned :)
The ingredient is called “belacan” (pronounced “Bur-La-Chant”). It is fermented shrimp paste and can be found at Asian grocery stores. Good luck!
Hi Poh, you mention leaving the dough to rest overnight ! Do you leave it in room temperature or in the fridge ?
poh ng Fridge is best, unless you’re living in a cold climate country

Shiva Maraj it’s called belacan, Malaysian shrimp paste.
finally a video showing how to make the dough!
Where can I buy belachan in Sydney? 🙏🏻
Woolies should have it. It'll say shrimp paste or belacan. Or if you walk into a Thai grocer, look for Gapi. Gapi is slightly sweeter.
@@junbecks Thanks so much!
What is that chocolate look like call?
Hi Poh, I want to make this dish, but am finding it hard locating the curry leaves. Can you please tell me where you got yours from? Thanks a million.
Curry leaves can be hard to find outside of South East Asia. But you can always substitute it with bay leaves and a squirt of lime juice. Still a bit far fetched and stripped down without the curry leaves but that shouldn't be a problem for most of us
Indian grocery stores usually have dried ones.
yumm, it looks amazing.
Fish sauce, shrimp paste and belachan has different taste. The closes to belachan is shrimp paste.
I like how authentic she made the roti. Well is she can flip the bread like the Indian, that is even more authentic haha
is a very good canai very elastic
I admire your blender,
Oops sorry, I meant the chilli leaves.
Thank you.
Nice !
it look like sooooo delicious
Awesome
I love Malaysian Halal food like chicken Tikka.
I don't think chicken tikka is a malaysian food... Chicken tandoori yes...
lol Chicken tandoori is Indian
yes of course it's Indian, Malaysian has 3 major races.. I'm just pointing out the food that is very common with Malaysian culture, and chicken tikka is uncommon compared to tandoori
just saying chicken tika was made by a scottish man in the UK
THat was nice!
