Just for information, Indian railways fastest train can run with 200 km/h speed but due to tracks and density of trains, they are limited till 130 km/h. Fact is that government is improving it...
@gauravsharma8052 Well, its not just the tracks, but also the signalling. Thankfully, all the route interlocking systems that relied on electromechanical relays are now being replaced entirely with solid state electronic relays across the entire Indian Railways network. And Kavach TCAS (Train Collision Avoidance System) is being rolled out on trunk routes (2000 km this year and 34,000 km by 2027 are the targets for Kavach 1.0). Meanwhile, Kavach 2.0 is also being worked on. Mind you, even in Europe in countries like Germany also, ETCS Level 1 is not there on all tracks. All this combined with track upgrades AND track de-congestion efforts (freight-passenger train track separation via Dedicated Freight Corridor and doubling, tripling and quadrupling of existing tracks) will ensure that average speeds increase and that trains stick to the schedule with minimal slippage.
@@hemantv1676 Because our entire 125,000 km of railway track is broad gauge, as is our entire rolling stock of hundreds of thousands of wagons and tens of thousands of locomotives. And to replace all this will take two decades of work and cost an ocean of money, time and resources while also causing a massive amount of train delays continuously for the next 20 years. Why 20 years? Because we barely lay 4500-7000 km of new track each year and barely make a few thousand coaches and few hundred locomotives per year. And my assumption of 20 years takes into account an increase in this rate of track laying and rolling stock manufacturing. And all this done for what benefit? None. Nothing that the standard gauge can do that the broad gauge can't. Not me that is saying this, it is Mr Alok Verma, who is one of the premier Railway Engineers in this country. Kake thoda thand rakh. @@aishikpanja3931 the thing is, trains are always far safer than a car or a bus... just naturally. it is the age old refined technology that does the safety work in trains, not the driver... which means, it fails less often...

so the reason railways cannot confirm the seats for premium 1st AC coz these seats are reserved for high headed people of govt departments and dignitaries. for eg. secretary rank officers, MPs etc. If they r travelling then they gets 2 seater 1st AC cabins. Next gen trains will not have such things. Upcoming ACs 1st coaches like vande bharat u will get as u want.
Nice vid 🙂 Most of premium travellers would take the 2nd class ac or 3rd class ac for Rs. 4k+ and 3k+ than 1st class A flight seems to be 4.8k+ to 5k+ for 3 hrs journey. So they would prefer the 2nd/3rd over 1st 🙏
I may be wrong but First-class seats are allocated before the train's departure primarily due to the possibility of unexpected VIPs or government officials travelling. However, passengers can always request a 2-sleeper cabin by contacting the railways.
@NonstopEurotrip seat allocations are done manually in first AC considering wide array of factors. Politicians, bureaucrats are given high priority and Indian Railways attempt to assign them private coup. Also, there are security issues involved. Railways try their best to avoid accommodating men and women stranger to one another. That's why allocations are announced just 4 hours in advance. The assignment happens until the last 4 hours.
The primary reason is considering safety of pasengers and their demography in context for example a single women will not be alloted with other male passengers in a cabin or a coupe. Similarly an old person would most probably be alloted a lower berth according to suitable cabin/coupe according to his gender.@@NonstopEurotrip
the Indian railways reservation system is the most human friendly system - it allots based on the Age and gender of the passengers...so you only get confirmed tickets in First AC - if you are travelling alone - you get either a cabin Upper seat or if you are travelling as a couple (Old Age) you get a cabin - both lower berths...this way old people do not have to suffer the ardous task of climing the upper berths...and so please understand the process before passing any negative comments...
Dude I completely understand it. Give people the option to choose their beds from a seating plan and they can select what's right for them. There is no system. No where else in the world does it like this.
But if you select the seat how would you know that you are selecting it rightly and what is the demographic of the other passengers. For example a single girl around your age selected a lower berth in coupe and you happen to select the coupe upper berth but this would be a disaster as the female passenger won't be ready for this arrangement with a stranger male@@NonstopEurotrip
Given that India is unlikely to go woke anytime soon, this seems like a pretty good way of minimizing the risk of passengers ending up sharing a cabin with others who could pose a potential threat to their safety, especially at night in a locked compartment.
hope so that when u will again visit our country in the future we have our high speed rail network ready and see u make a video on it. also u can also consider to make a video on rapid rail or rapidx (it is also currently under construction will be operational very soon) although it dosent come under normal railways but still it connects satellite city of delhi which looks much modern than conventional indian railways.
Enjoyed your video. There are two more trains that are almost equal (slightly better) on the New Delhi to Mumbai route (Train no: 22222/12952). 95% of long-distance trains in India are 22-24 coaches long (LHB - 600-700 meters). Indian Railways provides mobility for a huge number of passengers at the cost of speed and that's what we need right now. Our government is slowly upgrading our existing infrastructure (which is humongous) and also working on bringing new technologies (HST, Metro rails, Vande Bharat trains (Distributed power - multiple units)). Small steps towards the development of the nation.

Delhi needs a modern railway terminus. And it absolutely needs to clean up the River Jamuna. Stagnant water is a boon for private hospitals maybe, but it's a terrible curse for the rest of the population.
One thing to note, for context re. why you don't get seat assignments in advance: the seating arrangement for AC First Class is decided manually by humans. As was mentioned in another comment, staff take into account the age and gender of the travelers and their companions to decide the best seating arrangement. On the lower classes, seats are automatically allocated by a computer at the time of booking.
@@NonstopEurotrip, same white people say, "ohh, we can't sleep with some stranger sleeping next to us". Had computer done it, you would have end up seperated with your other self (you brought 2 ticket, second seat might have been in Cabin, rather than coupe). Computer would have allocated berths by 1st come, 1st serve if before your booking all the passengers had filled Lower berth preference. (Because 1AC seats are very limited). You should be glad that they did it manually that's why you got your second seat in same coupe. Be thankful. Don't be ignorant arrogant. Yours is very st00p... Ignorant comment.
Yep, definitely stupid. I identify as nonbinary and I feel more comfortable not having an all-male or all-female cabin. The humans that assign seats in first class are still bound by outdated notions of the gender binary and heteronormativity, while the computer that decides seat assignments for the lower classes doesn't take any personal data into account unless one explicitly books a special quota.
Nope, the reason is that on first class tickets, there are various reservations (politicians, railway officials) so they can decide on who to travel. Its not really commuter friendly system.
no, because the reast of the world gives you a seating plan you can choose your own bed from, or book the whole compartment to yourself if you want. that's the sensible and common way to do it.

There is geyser for hot water in shower. 5. The tissue paper gets thrown out when rotated on western sheets. Doesn't comes back 360°.

On every 1st AC of IR you are free to indicate a preference for a 2 bunk vs a 4 bunk, at the time of reservation. I believe the railway lingo is cabins and coupes. And you are reasonably assured to get what you asked for, even though they let you know 4 hours prior. Yes it doesnt help that you only come to know exactly what, 4 hours prior. But there is a very good reason for that. Would be glad explain more if you are curious. Reasonably because the worst case is the two of you might end up in different rooms. Especially if the train has very limited 1st AC and there is rush. But chances are really low on any Rajdhani. I took this trip last in the thick of the 3rd wave. They were not serving food and linen at the time. But my opinion is there are better Rajdhani 1st AC food experiences in India, and on some of the Duronto as well. 15:40 It is 8 beds per section in AC 3 tier not 9 beds per section.
Ac 3 tier is the most preferred option by Indian locals as it is quite economical and that's the reason you see most of the coach in a train has most ac 3 tier coaches.
But it's 9 berths per section in Garib Rath Expresses. It's probably the only exception.
@@indianrailwayfanbose Yep, the same 9 berths per section was also tried on some high-end trains such as the Duronto, branded as AC 3-tier Economy (with the trains also having "normal" AC 3-tier with 8 berths per section), but it was unsuccessful, with too many complaints about the side middle berth on a premium train.

I've travelled on the Rajdhani train from mumbai to Delhi in 2019 ... but these trains are now much upgraded and have newly built modern coaches
Why don't we upgrade with standard guage
Railways is doing all it can to develop faster rail travel in India.

so the reason railways cannot confirm the seats for premium 1st AC coz these seats are reserved for high headed people of govt departments and dignitaries. for eg. secretary rank officers, MPs etc. If they r travelling then they gets 2 seater 1st AC cabins. Next gen trains will not have such things. Upcoming ACs 1st coaches like vande bharat u will get as u want.

I may be wrong but First-class seats are allocated before the train's departure primarily due to the possibility of unexpected VIPs or government officials travelling. However, passengers can always request a 2-sleeper cabin by contacting the railways.
You can't, we tried
No, one can not request 2 person cabin. Generally railway allocate coupe to couple or someone who booked 2 seats.
@@MrDebapriyaRoypoliticians should just travel on planes and save everyone from the unnecessary hassle.
The primary reason is considering safety of pasengers and their demography in context for example a single women will not be alloted with other male passengers in a cabin or a coupe. Similarly an old person would most probably be alloted a lower berth according to suitable cabin/coupe according to his gender.@@NonstopEurotrip
Great video and well presented. Thanks from NZ...
Glad it was helpful!
the Indian railways reservation system is the most human friendly system - it allots based on the Age and gender of the passengers...so you only get confirmed tickets in First AC - if you are travelling alone - you get either a cabin Upper seat or if you are travelling as a couple (Old Age) you get a cabin - both lower berths...this way old people do not have to suffer the ardous task of climing the upper berths...and so please understand the process before passing any negative comments...
Dude I completely understand it. Give people the option to choose their beds from a seating plan and they can select what's right for them. There is no system. No where else in the world does it like this.
@@NonstopEurotripYou just gotta frame your age right accordingly if you want the right seat
@@NonstopEurotripgo colonise india again.
Given that India is unlikely to go woke anytime soon, this seems like a pretty good way of minimizing the risk of passengers ending up sharing a cabin with others who could pose a potential threat to their safety, especially at night in a locked compartment.

As I said, a stupid system
It is a very well described video wherein you stated all the facts pretty accurately. I am so glad that you liked Indian Railways. Hope to watch many more of your videos.

Yes, you are right 👍
Correction: 1. WAP7 can run upto 180 KMPH. 2. AC3 has 8 seats/coupe not 9.
There are few mistakes or some things that you have missed in the video-
1. The food in 1st ac is unlimited, you can demand as much as you want.
2. Wap-7 way go faster than 140 kmph,but it's limited to 130 in these.
3. You also get linen in 3rd ac, infact in all trains you get linen in AC sleeper coaches no matter the class.
4. There is geyser for hot water in shower.
5. The tissue paper gets thrown out when rotated on western sheets. Doesn't comes back 360°.
I've experienced quite a few 1AC trains in India and none of what you've said has ever been true in my experience
