love u guys!!
I just want to say that you’re one of the people that opened my mind to pursuing nutrition and to becoming a dietitian!
yay!!! are you in school right now?
@@amandavsevilla yes!! I'm currently in my first year of uni, and I'm hoping to apply in the dietitian program next year. I actually had a little setback this year due to some classes, but I'm still determined to pursue this career!
As a current dietetics student I love these types of videos. Especially when you talk about case studies! Thanks for these, they are awesome ☺️
I’m a college student who has been vegan for about a year and a half; on my birthday in December, I’ll be 20 and vegan for two years! I’m studying Dietetics ☺️ I’m excited to step my foot into this field and having a lot of influence when it comes to spreading the goodness of veganism. You’re one of the vegan RUclipsrs that I look up to and I would love to see more videos like this!
so exciting to have more vegans in dietetics! we could always use more vegan health care profs :)
Yes please make more of these videos!! I am really interested I recently decided to change my major from psychology to nutrition and dietetics(: I’m also vegan, thank you for posting!
i feel like psychology and nutrition and dietetics can go hand in hand so i see why you'd be in between both! I hope you enjoy this field!
I completely agree with your approach to patients / people about just eating more plants in general! Thank you for sharing
I’m currently a 3rd year student dietitian & I love watching these videos!! It gives me something to look forward to & It makes me so excited for graduation day. Please upload more videos like this! xx
i graduated with a degree in marketing last year and i haaaate it and i’ve been looking into getting a degree in clinical nutrition and becoming an RD. these videos help a lot :)
Ahhhh you are absolutely stunning! The glasses and the coat look is a freaking 13/10. So classy, intellectual, and gorgeous. Congratulations on gaining this phenomenal job--you're killing it, hopefully you'll find a way to speak with these patients more personally and really plant the vegan seeds in their experiences! ;)
haha thanks so much cassie!! are you interested in clinical nutrition as well?
Yeah working class people are very admirable, Cassie.
I'm 3 weeks away from finishing my internship and I'm beginning to have a second thought. I find it hard that most patients in the hospital have little to no interest in talking about their nutrition and some even feel defensive that I am suggesting some lifestyle modifications to better their nutrition and lifestyle. The perpetuating cycle can be very discouraging. The only time I feel helpful is within the ICU but I'm unlikely to find an ICU job within the first couple years because of the exp prereq...Sigh...the struggle is too real
Quan Van so hows it going now?
Omg!! This is so scary. Like patients don’t wanna listen??
i totally understand how you feel!! nutrition is one of those knowledge thats underestimated by others. most likely because we call out people on their lifestyle and it’s a long-term program. it takes discipline, many patients don’t like that unless they’re ready to change for good.
even though I am not a RD, it is still very interesting to see what a day of clinical dietitian is like!! Thanks for the video xx!
Yess! I love these. I'm considering being a dietician myself so watching these videos is very informational and helpful (:
Love your approach to things, and I totally agree with small steps and planting seeds for more plants in any ways and forms. Love your vibe too, and thanks for sharing. Love from Johanne, Norway
thanks dolly!! sending you love :)
I love love love these videos on your career.
I've been watching youtube videos on what's it's like to be a dietitian/nutritionist, working in the medical field and how to get there, etc.
I've probably watched a million videos by a million different people and I cant believe this is the first I've came across your videos. And I've probably already watched most of them 😂 you are inspirational, and make me excited for my future career! I love your patient stories and the day as a dietitian vlogs. I get really overwhelmed with school and sometimes I think I'm in over my head, you've definitely helped me feel more at ease and remind me how rewarding it will be once I'm there.
:)
Yes, please I would really like for you too make more videos about nutrition and dietetics. I want to educate myself more about this career and you are for me one of the most interesting nutritionist on youtube.
I’m an undergrad studying to become a dietitian and I found your channel because of your dietitian related content. I would love to see more of this!!
i'm happy you like it!! what do you plan on specializing in?
@@amandavsevilla I'm not sure, yet! But there's a lot of options that I'm interested in
Please keep making these vlogs, I found out what a dietician is through your channel and now I’m going to uni to be a dietician in September! If you have any books you recommend for a beginner in dietetics or nutrition that would be a great idea for a video!!
wow! that's incredible :) enjoy! It's a long and winding path but it's super worth it. The school you go to will suggest reading material that will probably help you out but if you eat more plant based i highly suggest getting your foot into plant-based nutrition science (books like the china study, whole, proteinaholic) so that you can see both sides of the argument :) what they will teach you in school is more on the science side
Currently in school to be a dietitian! (Vegan of course) so thank you so much for this insight!!!
nice!! which school are you going to?!
applesandamandas I’m finishing up my associates, and then I have my eyes set on Cornell!! I live in upstate NY, so there aren’t many choices unfortunately. Syracuse, Oneonta, and Cornell. I’m trying to hard to get good grades and make it into Cornell which is Ivy League!!
Yes make more of these !!! I love hearing you talk about being a dietitian it’s so interesting
i'm glad you're enjoying! are you planning to go into dietetics yourself?
I love your videos! I am a nurse at a hospital and work on a cardiac floor and work with the dietitian once in a while and so awesome to see you doing your best to advocate for a plant-based life to others! I get the whole hospital environment and most people don’t even eat any vegetables when they come to my floor! I love your what I eat in a day as well I get ideas ;)
yesss love these videos! i am currently studying nutrition and dietetics and am so interested in your life as a clinical dietitian! I am vegan and find it interesting/at times hard to navigate that throughout school so I would very interested to see how you do that throughout your career! Great job!!
Yes! I am studying to become a dietician!! I want to work woth people in recovery from eating disorders
Yes girl hope you love the NICU! It was my fav when I was in clinical 😍 so much new info, and very overwhelming for such a tiny human, but so rewarding.
thanks babe!! NICU definitely requires a lot of attention to detail. what department are you in now?
applesandamandas I’m a School Nutrition Director :) the clinical environment gave me too much anxiety and I also thrive best being in charge 😅😅
Ahh I’m so glad I found you on Instagram and then started watching your RUclips videos. I want to become an RDN and I was always worried about being plant-based and becoming a dietitian but what you said is so true. I’m so inspired by you so thank you for being so genuine and positive!! 😊
yes!! being a dietitian as a vegan has SO many more advantages for this movement than we think :)
Thankyou for making fun and informative videos!
PLEASE MAKE MORE of these videos !! I plant to become a dietician / doctor in the future and im an incoming freshman for college and these videos are really helpful !!
Yes yes yes meerja!! and yay dietitian doctor! let's get it giiirl. what kinda doctor do you wanna be?
applesandamandas i havent fully decided yet but im eyeing to become an endoctrinologist or a cardiologist !
yes please more dietitian videos!!
what topics would you like me to cover?!
I love love your DITL dietitian blogs. I am pursuing a degree in Nutrition and Dietitecs. I already have a degree in Public health, I’m completing the required sciences and then I can apply for a program. The awesome thing you did in the past was share a case study and that was amazing and I love thinking that way. I also like that it gives you a real idea of how it is and that it’s not based on my imagination, since I want to do clinical for a while than branch off later in my career.
LOVE this series !! please we need more of those videos !! keep up the good works
you are one of the reasons why I wanted to pursue BS Nutrition! watched your vlogs since last year (at that time I was still confused what degree program I should take, if it's Pharma or Nutrition). But I was so inlove with your vlogs and I can imagine myself growing up and enjoying being an ND, too! currently an incoming freshman from PH
I absolutely love these types of videos! I just recently applied to the DPND program at my university. I'll find out next month if I got in. 😬 I found your channel when you were in your internship and it helped solidify that this is what I want to do with my life. Thanks for sharing what you do!
omg good luck! i hope you get it :)
I love these videos, thank you Amanda for sharing!!! xx
thank YOU janka!!
Please make more of these videos! I've found them so insightful. They've helped me realize this is the field I belong in. There's not a lot of channels like yours. I'll watch you either way though lol
Yay!! i'm glad u like :) and i'm super excited for you finding your foot in this field. are you thinking about being a dietitian as well?
@@amandavsevilla I'd love to be a clinical dietitian! I met with a dietitian for awhile when I was first diagnosed with gastroparesis and it really interested me. Now that I've got my health under control I'm ready to go back to school :)
cool! I'm going into the 4th year now and going to be a vegan dietitian in toronto! Awesome there is more vegan dietitians around!
Love love love❤ so inspiring 😘
Yes these day in the life videos are great!!!
Please make more videos like this! I look forward to them tbh
The new one came out today ❤️❤️
i love these videoss i am currently a nutrition student in my senior year. applying to dietetic internships now! wish me luck!
Yes queen. Cutest dietitian around 👩🏽⚕️❤️
omggg love you queen!!
I really love these videos! I love how realistic they are💚
thanks babe!!
loved this video! Would love more of your current diet and some more yoga vids too! I know you're super busy right now but your yoga tutorials are awesome!! I would also love to hear more about how/if you deal with patients with EDs. I was recently hospitalized for anorexia and the meal plans they kept everyone on were in my mind just not healthy. So much dairy especially. They allowed vegetarianism but not vegan. Would love your thoughts
Yes definitely more videos !!😊
Currently a nutrition and dietetic student. This is so great! I can’t wait to graduate this year and apply to internships. Great video! 🤗
please do make more video like this!
just posted!
Yes, please
❤️your blogs!!!
thanks for watching!
LOVE this video, I have a quiestion for you. With a bachelor in nutrition who is it to get a job with this degree? And what master do you recommend based on getting a job after endt education? can you make a video? xoxo
Hi great video ! I’ve been going to school now to complete my BA in dietetics and Nutrition but I’m now realizing that I’m more interested and passionate about being able to talk one on one with patients about weight loss and meal planning what field setting do you think would be better for me to pursue? A private practice perhaps? Or a health center ? Not sure if working in a hospital is something I would enjoy doing
I’m the same I would like to know this also
I really enjoyed this!!! Loved hearing about your job, i would be super interested on more videos! Hope you have a great day :)
What year is it important to get an internship? I’m going into my junior year as a nutrition major and I’m really hoping to secure a job at a hospital post-graduation. Any tips?!:)
Please do more videos on this! I’m looking into going back to school to become an RDN but I’m torn between that and neuropsychology 😩
Thanks so much for what you're doing.
I loved it thank you so much !!
About to start my internship! I love your videos!!
Yes yes more videos like this please! So helpful :)
of course beautiful :)
Yaaaaaayyyyy new video!
i hope you enjoyyyy!
I like these videos!
Do you love being a clinical dietitian or do you think you'll go into private practice or something else?
Yesss more!
I'm doing my internship rotation now.... very fun but a little overwhelmed somehow haha do you have any good suggestions to the future dietetics professional who new starts at the clinic?
Hi form a dietitian in Spain!!
Loving your development in your career. It would be great to have your clinical opinion on transitional diet expectations i.e., omnivore to plant based. How would you advise a patient, to avoid any pitfalls like the nonsense we've seen of late with other vegan vloggers who have returned to eating animal products.
thanks for always commenting Jo! Yes it would be so nice t ohave more of those videos, right?
Mor dietitian videos!!!
hey Amanda I use to take ashwagandha to help control my anxiety but stopped because I started getting GI track problems (i already have IBS) so I was wondering for the adaptogenic mushroom drinks you make are they're any bad side effects for long term use of them? Or is there any other good calming supplements you recommend? Thank you💗🌼
omg yes i love these
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I must say I'm confused by the comment about meat in general being hard on the body, especially fish. Quality sources of animal based protein have an extensive list of health benefits. If one chooses a vegan diet for ethical reasons that is understandable. I do agree that a diet that is 'predominantly' plant based leads to improved health outcomes. However I don't see the need for it to be exclusive.
I just wanna know is there any demand in this job? Like the job opportunities? Because I'm afraid I ended up not getting any job 😵😵😵😵
Hi! yes most people can find a job, maybe not full time right away but there are a lot of new hospitals and dialysis and other healthcare centers popping up all over the country that need dietitians!
Searching for nutrition related job. Need guidance
I love these kind of vlogs, especially since I'm currently in the middle of becoming a certified holistic nutritionist
nice! how are you liking the program? is it online?
@@amandavsevilla Yes! its great. Online is perfect for me since I work full time third shift at a plant.
Love your channel and videos! Though I was thought clinical dietitians also wrote up a meal plan as well as suggesting a lifestyle change through exercise. Don’t patients go to them with their diagnosis to suggest them a nutrition plan to go with their medication?
also can you be like our female dr. gregor
My dream job is to be a dietitian😍😍
what's your hair curling routine?x
is it quite a social job or no?
Hi, Amanda. I’m studying nutrition major in university and this is my sophomore year. But English isn’t my first language, and I wanna get into the internship program. I saw some of your internship video that you did talking about the clinical rotation, I wanna know is that hard for students who aren’t fluent in English as native speakers? Is that many medical terms that they use in the hospitals? I’m so worried about that, I don’t find that much informations about this!! Thanks 😊
Hey so I need some help, my boyfriend struggles with eating healthy and his weight and he used to make really good healthy choices but now he has gained 20+ lbs after a month of eating out every day and says "I just dont know where the weight is coming from" so when I tell him it turns into this big conversation where I feel like im talking to a wall. I was wondering if I could get some advice for how to stop caring about his health or weight anymore or how to get him to understand why healthy choices and healthy living is important
Which dietetics University did you go to? And which others do you recommend?
Is it okay to ask what your salary is? Thank you!
What do you eat at work
I appreciate these videos! But I think it's very dangerous to tell people to go vegan. Everyone's body and needs are different. Not to mention very few vegans actually get their proper nutrients from only plants unless they're very conscious of macros and nutrients which is rarely the case for the average person.
Hi! Iam a dietetics student in India but here dietetics hasn’t developed as a good vocation area. I’m planing to shift to North America. Can u please suggest something regarding the same.
Hi 👋 awesome video. Very informative. Just wondering which degree did you pursue and what college did you go to. ?
For your next Q&A, a lot of dietitians, especially ones that deal with eating disorders, are teaching HAAS or health at any size approach. I'd love hear your thoughts on it.
that sounds interesting!! i want to talk on that subject. thanks for the suggestion! what is your opinion of it?
@@amandavsevilla I'm still trying to understand all there is to it. I do think that we need to get rid of the stigma that larger bodies are inherently unhealthy. Health is a very personal thing.
@@amandavsevilla Trust Your Body Project Podcast and Food Psych Podcast have been very helpful for me, you should definitely check them out! Both are dietitians that focus on intuitive eating and HAAS :)
are you a Filipina? hehe because you look like one
I wanna get that binder huhu wanna learn that and try to apply it here in the 🇵🇭 hahaha #dietitian
First like and comment :3 🧡
thank yyou for being here!!
Driving and talking on the phone... Well
You are soo beautiful! Wow!
Hold up. You can be vegan or a vegetarian or someone who follows a plant-based diet and consume A TON of carbs. It's not about the types of proteins, it's about the amount of carbs.
Of course one should not consume lots of meat and dairy, but it's refined carbs that affect glucose and cholesterol levels more than anything else.
Anyone plzzz tell me how can I become a dietitian abroad with an Indian Degree? Is there any way...😥😥😥
1st here♥️♥️♥️♥️
you are the best!!!
We’re awesome, also we have the same career and I’ve taking Hatha yoga☺️
And yes please make more videos like this🥵🥵🥵🥵
Mam, where are you from?
LOLOL that intro! 😂
haha happy you found some entertainment with it!
what took u onto this career?
Prettiest Asian I ever seen .
But, In India dietitian are one of the least respected and underpaid paramedical profession!!!
It's like "that's what happens after grey's anatomy's crazy surgeries, they need me" :D
Will a dietitian get a label of dr before their name ??
If they do grade of doctorate yes
Not a good idea to push what you do on others. Be more culturally aware…some cultures eat fish and are very healthy. Good video….too self centered though. Unfortunately, a lot of RDs are like that….oh BTW I’m a RD CDN….clinical in LTC.
Its not a job unless you can stand and look people in the eye.
