FYI: You can technically get a +9 weapon before beating your second boss by doing the vordt and crystal sage skip, getting crow quills and moveswapping up to a rail in the cementery of ash, which can actually take you to the untended graves, which lets you backtrack and go into oceiro's boss room which ALSO gives you access to the consumed king's garden, large titanites and chunks, from there you can start blasting with your +9 weapon, or go the InfernoPlus route and trade a bunch of items and souls to your character. Have fun with this info
Another complete banger! You've also probably heard in the time it took you to make the video, but an easier vordt skip was found by parrying a hollow near a ledge. I really wish ds3 wasn't as linear in progression as it is, but even still it is absolutely my favorite souls game.
I now understand why I never really saw any one shot runs for ds3 except inferno plus, dark souls 3 is just way too restrictive to be able to get weapons with one shot potential early on which is a bit of a shame. I appreciate the attempt though and always nice to see you upload.

Was waiting for this one! Your DS2 video was definitely an inspiration for my videos trying to do the same in NG+7 across the souls series. Ironic that 2 and 3 are incredibly difficult to stack damage for one-shots only to go crazy in Elden Ring.
I have to say I'm incredibly appreciative of the fact you're honest about "cheating" when it comes to grinding stuff. I'm sure some others do it too in their challenges, but they pretend they spend hours and hours making enemies fall off cliffs or whatever. It would not have made the run any less legitimate in my eyes, if you had done it. All it does is save time.
Yeah, I don't want to do anything that's actually impossible (like spawning in maxed weapons at the beginning of the game) but using cheat engine to speed up tedious farming or boosting level (because I technically could grind enemies for souls) is okay for the sake of SCIENCE lol

I beat Sister Friede. I used up 3 of my 4 Divine Blessings and like 30+ embers in all attempts. And in the final successful attempt, I beat her with like a sliver of health left. One thing I unironically love about you, Doom, is that you're not saying "Can you beat [game] with [challenge]". You always pose it as "Can *I* ", making it not appear like a pretend brand new idea for a challenge that actually has been done by a few hundred more people already, but as a way to challenge *yourself*. Doesn't sound like much, but it really makes these videos more personal. Instead of having a "Pfff I've already seen this challenge, it's doable", it's a case of wondering how *you* specifically came to face the challenge and if your skills allowed you to beat it. It's the little details, you know.
I used to always write "can you" because it was just the way they were made but at some point I was like "..well yeah, you can be at because has done it before" for the most part. So I switched to I for the reason you said. It was if _I_ was skilled/stubborn enough to do it. I was one shoting everything in DS1 with the dark knight axe. But DS3 is such a different game. There is no point in having a powerful weapon if you die 50% of the time before you can even start attacking. In DS3 I go with a sharpened dark sword + magic sword spell. Hit and run is fucking annoying, but it seems the game want you to play it that way.
The game is much faster and as a consequence has less chances to attack (if you're using a slow weapon), maybe that's why I don't really use the big bonk weapons in the later titles lol
You can still get by the Dancer with teardrop glitch in the Profaned Capital (requires other player). Unfortunately l wasn't able to find anyone skilled enough to perform the glitch with me but l can definitely perform it on others as long as they can follow the steps. Also l just realized it might not be possible because l didn't try to backtrack that much. However teardrop in the Highwall next to the Tower of the Wall (also requires assist from other player) should fix this however requires the Vordt cutscene to be available and you must kill Vordt (with one shot as challenge requires). With this you can skip Dancer. You would gain access to: - Sunlight Straight Sword - Red Tearstone Ring
You could've just slipped gundyr. There is an exploit. In the first patch of the game you can get grabbed next to the door and then let go at the other side. You could also try zipping.
Having just completed the base game and currently doing the DLC I can safely conclude that, while you can’t one shot everything, everything can definitely one shot you 😭
that whole "didn't want to spend 5 minutes screaming at gundyr" thing is something is resonate with very deeply right now, i'm currently playing ark survival evolved mobile. trying to tame a max level terror bird in single player and it is the worst, there are no console commands so you can't just spawn wild dino's in, and they're aggressive creatures. so they will attack almost everything around them. or just be in such big groups it is impossible to single one out. i have spent 2+ hours trying to find a level 450 and knock it out to start taming it, i have found 2 level 450's, one tried to fight a pair of dire bears, and got fucked up fast, the other was stuck in some shitty map geometry and i was so happy. sat still pumping arrows into it, and a Kaprosuchus (they are small fuckers that can launch at you from afar, snatch you up in their mouths, do huge damage quick and their bite will usually drain your tamed dino of stamina leaving it unable to give chase to assist you in killing it) snatched me up and killed me thanks for coming to my ted talk
wow that sounds rough. It's been a while since I've played Ark, but I remember trying to tame something and it was...not fun, so I sorta understand haha
beating ds3 with one shot is a very real task, as it turned out. One Russian youtuber "Ekky" was able to do this. He used bugs, but destroyed everyone, even mobs with one blow. Insane job
U technically can have gundyr fall off the ledge if u parry. Him in just the right spot as when he gets back up most of his collison box over the ledge causing him to fall
Not sure you'll see this Doom,but here's a challenge suggestion. Can you beat Dark Souls 2 or 3 by only using spell tools? No spell casting just bonking with the staff
You can farm the corvian sorcerers on the road of sacrifices to get their staff that spews poison mist. If you use that when Wolnir is hiding in the dark he'll sit in the cloud and lose health and then you can hit him for the last chunk of his health

The great club is by far my favorite weapon in the game. The normal charged R2 combos really well into either an R1 or an R2 (can't remember) and it's great for PvP mix ups

I mean get the best of each game, world connectivity, story from DS1, fashion, weapon choices, power stancing and many options to become overpowered for this kind of challenges from DS2 and bossfights, weapon arts from DS3, call it The Best of... and merge them into one game. Throw in a few poison swamp areas for the god-creator himself to appease him, of course.
Ds2 is easy to do one shot runs because every second or third dude in armor has a boss health bar whether they deserve one or not, and it has less direction then a high schooler with untreated adhd, while being built about as well as the average primary schooler's art project
As soon as I saw the asterisk on gundyr I knew what the strat was, and I got scared. Actually pulling that off is insanity. "Close to one shotting manus" level of insanity, and much, MUCH more tedious. Glad you avoided following through it for a run that was never meant to be beatable anyway. All in all, I don't think ds3 is more balanced, just gives the player WAAAAAY less freedom and power. The way I see it: when absolute knowledge of a game doesn't give you any significant advantage, it means the game has some design flaws. PS: just so you know for future runs, corvian knights are a joke with a mace (with perseverance in general I think)
as someone who one shot manus, can agree, not worth it to do Gundyr lmao I mean...yeah I guess you're right, I used balance to mean you cant be crazy over powered, but you _can_ it's just not something you can do early lol

that whole "didn't want to spend 5 minutes screaming at gundyr" thing is something is resonate with very deeply right now, i'm currently playing ark survival evolved mobile. trying to tame a max level terror bird in single player and it is the worst, there are no console commands so you can't just spawn wild dino's in, and they're aggressive creatures. so they will attack almost everything around them. or just be in such big groups it is impossible to single one out. i have spent 2+ hours trying to find a level 450 and knock it out to start taming it, i have found 2 level 450's, one tried to fight a pair of dire bears, and got fucked up fast, the other was stuck in some shitty map geometry and i was so happy. sat still pumping arrows into it, and a Kaprosuchus (they are small fuckers that can launch at you from afar, snatch you up in their mouths, do huge damage quick and their bite will usually drain your tamed dino of stamina leaving it unable to give chase to assist you in killing it) snatched me up and killed me

beating ds3 with one shot is a very real task, as it turned out. One Russian youtuber "Ekky" was able to do this. He used bugs, but destroyed everyone, even mobs with one blow. Insane job

U technically can have gundyr fall off the ledge if u parry. Him in just the right spot as when he gets back up most of his collison box over the ledge causing him to fall

You can farm the corvian sorcerers on the road of sacrifices to get their staff that spews poison mist. If you use that when Wolnir is hiding in the dark he'll sit in the cloud and lose health and then you can hit him for the last chunk of his health
interesting, I wouldn't count that as one hit (because it's not one button press) but I might use this information at another time lol

The great club is by far my favorite weapon in the game. The normal charged R2 combos really well into either an R1 or an R2 (can't remember) and it's great for PvP mix ups

I mean get the best of each game, world connectivity, story from DS1, fashion, weapon choices, power stancing and many options to become overpowered for this kind of challenges from DS2 and bossfights, weapon arts from DS3, call it The Best of... and merge them into one game. Throw in a few poison swamp areas for the god-creator himself to appease him, of course.

Ds2 is easy to do one shot runs because every second or third dude in armor has a boss health bar whether they deserve one or not, and it has less direction then a high schooler with untreated adhd, while being built about as well as the average primary schooler's art project

As soon as I saw the asterisk on gundyr I knew what the strat was, and I got scared. Actually pulling that off is insanity. "Close to one shotting manus" level of insanity, and much, MUCH more tedious. Glad you avoided following through it for a run that was never meant to be beatable anyway.
All in all, I don't think ds3 is more balanced, just gives the player WAAAAAY less freedom and power.
The way I see it: when absolute knowledge of a game doesn't give you any significant advantage, it means the game has some design flaws.
PS: just so you know for future runs, corvian knights are a joke with a mace (with perseverance in general I think)

Would it count as a one-shot if you killed Wolnir with poison? You could use Storyteller's Staff if it does! Also, don't forget you can use magic weapon when riposting or backstabing bosses.
