I agree with ya...it’s the best scene, then this song...it gives me chills every single time I see the movie...yea, this is something special. Crazy how some people see it/ feel it, and others feel nothing?
Can't say enough about this scene. Having struggled with my own demons on and off again for 15 years, the scene means so much to me. The song is the perfect backdrop to the scene. He is a guy coming out of a dark place in his life - down on himself and depressed. He wakes up to a new mindset and is now determined to move forward and go after his dreams and stand up for himself and the ones he loves. It is on his terms now. He's not trying to please everyone else, leaving his own desires to the decisions and opinions of others. It's my life and I will live it how I see fit. If you don't like it, you don't have to be in it.
Thank you for saying this. This is how I've felt with my life and this scene in particular..... I hope we can both come back to this comment a year from now with progress made. Have a blessed day sir.
There is something "real" about using this song in this scene. Its much more than a training montage, its showing two flawed guys trying to move in the right direction but with small steps on a long road. Anthony Kiedis and John Frusciante from the Chili Peppers both had massive problems with addiction in their pasts and that is felt in the music, this makes it particularly poignant when looking at Bale's charachter. It makes me wonder who the title of the film "the Fighter" is refering to.
OK, wow! You took it a step further and I can’t stand having to admit that that’s something I’ve never actually thought about. Who exactly is the fighter? You have definitely unlocked the key to the title here! Both of them are fighters but in the sense that the title means it I have a feeling it is Bale’s character that the title of the film refers to. And I know, I agree with ya...it’s the best scene /song Union, it’s very inspiring for anyone who’s ever felt like they needed to fight for themselves. it gives me chills every single time I see the movie...yea, this is something special. Crazy how some people see it/ feel it, and others feel nothing?
Hell yea man, I still pop in to watch this clip whenever I’m acting like a bitch and letting my family down. Gotta be a man all the time not just sometimes
Finally watched this film and was blown away by this scene. Not seeing many movies using songs from outside sources anymore. This was perfectly timed placement after the church bells were ringing. RHCP forever.
I love the scene where he goes in the gym after Dickey gets out and puts everyone in their place. Then Dickey goes to the drug house and on the way there has a change of heart and convinces himself to not go back to his old habits.
The only thing I think this film needed was better fight scenes and bale should have really transformed to a fighter. All his scenes needed that. Other than that this film was dam near perfect on an emotional level
Most underrated training montage ever
Perfect song choice for this scene
The best
Damn straight, this got me to go running and to practice more boxing.
Absolute match made in heaven

Love this part. He's stepping away from the anchors and forging and rebuilding his own path.

Exactly! He didn’t have to come back and fight BUT HE DID. Not for anyone else but for him! Love this movie.
Amazing sound track
How are you now?
Perfect comment man

beautiful comments, thanks
Both are fighters, but fighting a different battle.
Think we all felt this you just put it into words
The Fighter was referring to both Micky Ward and Dickey Englund, but I would guess more Ward.
my favorite boxing movie
Mine too.
Had to pause the movie and re-listen to the album that I completely forgot I loved. Great choice
My family was watching this and I was in the next room . The minute I heard the first chord I was like "is that red hot chill peppers?!"
That moment when you change your family's legacy by shutting out all the bs and just putting in the work.
Hell yea man, I still pop in to watch this clip whenever I’m acting like a bitch and letting my family down. Gotta be a man all the time not just sometimes
Our family is actually well respected in that area.
@@Sean-jc6cuNo one was talking about your family fool
he actually has very natural movement, relax and smooth technique
This scene gave me goosebumps when I rewatched the movie because I knew of and love the song by the chili peppers
Love this whole scene and PERFECT SONG
And that's how it begins...
...with a choice to move, and keep moving until it's an ingrained NEW habit of your choosing.
perfect song for a perfect scene
RHCP always make a song that hits feelings.
En efecto es cine 🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬
The ooh yeah part was remixed
It's so perfect when Micky (Mark Wahlberg) is running as it says please don't strip my mind and he doesn't fall or stop to breath he keeps going.
Such a nice song
recognized it was rhcp the second i heard it
TES:V Rocks did you read the title, lol

My Biggest challenge is standing up, when all I wanted was to die.
De las mejores de esta buena película.
"Looks like a beach ball"
This song. Omg
Great escene for this Part ☝🏼
Tune!
Interesting song choice for a Rocky-style training montage. I really, really love this part.
Anyone seen the movie Southpaw? Is it any good?
It’s okay
Hell yeah it's good watch
James Lee u think
@@shavingcreamguy9554 hell yeah I bought it on blu ray well worth it money and time
South paw is a very mixed movie, I personally loved it but I can see why some people wouldn’t enjoy it
Por acaso aq dps de procurar a música, nem sabia q tocava em algum filmy... Com saudades de ouvir o solo de Frusciante 🇧🇷

GREAT STRIP MY MIND WITH MARK WAHLBERG AKA MICKY WARD IN THE FIGHTER 2010 FILM !!!!
2:00 perfeito
Brasil, 2018!
This scene put that song on a map.
??? You never listened to stadium arcadium before
@@jeff-hd9og there are more than 200 countries. Do You think all the songs from usa reaches to every single person around the world
I did think the could've picked a more perfect song for these scenes

Does dipping your hands in a bucket of ice really works? 1:10
Rice? And yes, especially if it’s warm
Yes race and good to know.
Sawdust
Her legs though...
I love rhcp but this is the worst song for a training montage. And there’s a billion RHCP songs that would’ve fit amazingly
ikr
Na this is a perfect song for this scene
This song was perfect
Yeah, no.
That's your problem that you only see it as a training scene
It's goddamn awkward to listen to this in this scene. It just doesn't match
joking aren't ya?
I mean, maybe if I watch the movie it wouldn't so awkward but like this yeah it is xD
This was one of my favorite parts of the movie, honestly
If you don't think this song fits the scene, well then you are lost
it doesn't fit the scene , your'e just happy strip my mind is being played like the rest of us, i could think 10 scenes this song would be better for
