Every single character on this show has done something worse. Putting this on the list is a bit of a joke. There's multiple scenes where he actively tries to get underaged girls, mostly from megs class, where you could easily make the case. Him being mislead by a girl, who's clearly pretending to be an adult, should not count to his evil deeds, hell in most countries it wouldn't even be a crime.

It's a very common thing in intervention like situations to not only tell the person what is happening, but to show how it affects others, because it shows the person what is happening all around them.
