These musicians are off the goddamn chain -- their synthesis of rhythm, syncopation, melody, change-up is unreal. The chemistry of the band is transcendent. A gift to the world.
fully agree
playing this jazz in my room at night while raining, the best feeling ever.
I love how much classic jazz trio (piano + DB + drums) is evolving around years.
Pretty amazing to see 1M views for anything in the jazz world. Been a fan since YT sent me from a funk song to Hopopono. Great music.

I''m so grateful for this project. It got me through a dark time and whenever I need that light, I put it in my ears. Thank you.
Oh, I feel you, mate. Same for me! Just found this bad yesterday and it's pure motivation and positive energy
They sound like 6 or 7 piece.
Absolutely amazing
I discovered them yesterday on youtube since then I am an addict and refuse any kind of rehab!
Top calibre! A clinic in playing the room and in stage communication not to mention how god damned tight they are!
This needs a super like button!
I felt my goosebumps the 9th time, the three legends with respect.
Person who is responsible for this recording should get an Oscar.
This.
Visually, just gorgeously framed and lensed.
Sonically, a wonderful mix.
The stereo separation of the bass during the climax of Murmuration confirms it for me.
...not to get too nerdy about it, or anything.
It is "giuseppe de vecchi" // Type t in the youtube search bar
szoku I know right

bass riff at 40 is mind blowing ! cant stop listening to gogo pingouin !
I just discovered GoGo Penguin listening TSF Jazz radio today in France... What a beautiful feeling... Great great job, thanks a lot !
So young and full of talent! .... between EST and Steve Reich .... Fantastic !
That "Upstate of Mind" T-shirt is monumental. Oh yeah, the music's great too.
Legends, there's something quite powerful with trios that goes beyond understanding, how rich, dense, transcendent, poignant it can be and each members mistake can easily be seen not like an orchestra, this level of awesomeness cannot be faked or disguised, it takes pure power to make it vibrate that much
I couldn't agree more. It's fascinating to see the synergy between them. Every note, every beat matters
@@dmakavellian1 Another super powerful trio that completely blew me away is the Reis Demuth Wiltgen trio, Michel reis is such a prodigy with mind bending solo that get you in another dimension haha, there's the live in Kulturpark, solos at 30min and another in the track mirage at 42 minutes, I cant believe they have such few listenners, wordclass level prodigiality there, definitely a beautiful gem worth finding and making others discover :)) !
@@MrLieka just checked this out and you are absolutely right. these little solos you mentioned are so layered. Incredibly complex and cohesive. Thanks so much for the recommendation.
@@dmakavellian1 I'm happy that you went and check them out ! It's been years I listen to them and they still blow my mind like the first time haha :) Careful btw, I made a virtuoso pianist I knew listen to them and he got slitghtly depressed at the moment but over time he told me that it pushed him forward in showing new inventive ways to sequence phrases ^^ The solo of Mirage feels half prepared half improvised when it reaches that climax point ;)
Wow...this is the first time I can remember listening to a full concert on YT, let alone being fully engaged and enthralled the entire time. These guys are something else. Very well done
I listen to this concert most evenings, adds to 'dreamland', awesome sound~
still listening.... these guys are awesome!
Just phenomenal. These guys really should do a film score.
Just discovered this and I am only one the first song, but I am mind-blown by how amazing and beautiful this is
So happy this is on youtube with solid quality! For arguably the best band ever (definitely them), there are zero full length concerts available. There used to be one more floating around but it got removed..Grateful for this
Hear Dafer Youssef's full concerts. They are in you tube
34:00 when they start to glitch out omg
* mindblown *
yep it's genius
Yea, that is pretty stunning, just fantastic concentration, well rehearsed and I'm sure it's damn difficult.
EST reborn ...........big smilye
So it would seem like you are into Djent
This is definitely one of the greatest live sets I've ever 'seen'. The hole show is imaculate and, specially, transcendental.
Pieces like Murmuration, Initiate or even the crazy timeless end conversation between the three in One Percent (34:00 this last one just casually sent my eye balls to the back of my head and took away the carpete below me without me even noticing it) are 'thisworldly', fortunately, and I'm so grateful for being able to witness all this mesmerizing human expressing 🙏 thank god penguins are monogamic and I don't have to worry about you guys to break up
One of the best performances I have witnessed.
esbjørn svenson trio search and love
My man chinstrap absolutely slaying that piano
I can listen to 'Protest' all day, and never get tired of it. Absolutely f-ing amazing tune.
Easily my favorite song by them
But my #2 would be impossible to pick because there are too many great ones
Fantastic. A real advancement of the piano trio. Every note from every player and how each one chooses to sound that note is listening, building and interacting live to make something bigger to connect with the audience-and be themselves. So refreshing and well needed! Courageous and well done. Thank you!
It feels like they have been influenced by electronic music like Squarepusher.
Murmuration... what a incredible piece! Increíble!
Everything is so good ...
Love that one!!
Kamaloka is absolutely beautiful
Damn,Break is such a cool tune.Absolutely sublime
I am listening to this group for the first time. They sound like a reuscitation of E.S.T. and even line up like they did. I used to love the original.
Qué maravilla!!!
thank god for E.S.T.
Very much in the est style
Mogę to oglądać milion razy. Genialne.
Saw them live in brussels couple of months ago. Best concert ive seen in years. chefs kiss to all of this
34:00 these guys are so great that we are experiencing time distorsions... a-ma-zing trio
"GoGo Penguin are an English band from Manchester, England, featuring pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Blacka, and drummer Jon Scott. On 06 December 2021, the band announced via Bandsintown and other social media platforms the departure of Rob Turner, citing creative differences. Turner’s replacement was revealed as Jon Scott."
Double bass is awesome!
The others too !
Tightness = God level.
Mindblown!
One percent track... 100% shivers
Thank you for sharing this concert. They're such great musicians! Intense playing and a great recording too.
I can't wait for your concert in Poland in June!
Live forever, GoGo Penguin!
love from Turkey! Beautiful music.
The hook piano part for "Initiate" (52:50) feels and sounds like a Celtic folk melody to me, and I can't help but create lyrics in my head for it while listening.
Absolutely brilliant music! When listening to it for the first time I was upset by the high level of this music. A perfect combination of jazz, classical, and techno helps to rethink the spiritual energy of the modern world.
the first part was Erik Truffaz for those who might like d'nBass.
His drummer basicall invented that like 30 years ago ;)
So what ?
@@tezca6121 thx so much!
So positive and healthy way of dealing with the phenomeno that is called music.
The glitching out in the one percent piece is mindblowing
TOP NOTCH! Les gars vous gerez! It's a fusion of all the best elements of jazz, pop, classical, electronic...
So crisp and so clean! Thank you each for gifting us with such (no words to describe) art.
Sounds great on studio headphones! 👌
@GoGoPenguinMusic - While I wait for what seems to be the world's longest adverts to finish playing so the concert can begin - and I watched them in their entirety for what it's worth as my miniscule material contribution to you - I just want to say I love your work. This will be the 4th time I'm watching this concert, and certainly not the last. Much love from Cape Town. Come visit soon.❤
I love them. Beautiful and modern melody Especially I love "All Res"
As for me, Kamaloka is my favourite one. Such intensity...
Holy fuck that is some next level music. Just sublime and absolutely outstanding... Fell in love with those guys from the first second I heard them, and the more I listen to the more I am falling in love, just wow !!!!
The fourth one nearly made me have an existential crisis. In a good way
The same goes for me, but with the 6th one, One percent.
Jazz 2022 and now this is what Theo and all them wont sound like but the future generations will also know came from their greatness.. Those that came before, those that inspired. Those, Them and the Others... Thank you... Thank you....
The way of they make the estructure of all presentation is so full of energy ....directly connect with me in all senses....pieces in the same level of the time ........remind me much a Svensson Trio Jazz ...good work friends
Not exactly EST but the same energy and beautiful catchy melodies too.
what an incredible concert... cannot wait to see them in Switzerland next month.
Man, this is great! Wish I had found this sooner
Maybe I'm not in jazz for real, but, man, this sounds genius, so emotional. Probably, one of the best live shows I've seen.
Keep listening, keep exploring, keep this type of music alive.
We saw then live in Athens. They rock!! Same top league as Esbjoern Svensson Trio or Avishai Cohen. Just incredible.
Rstrained piano play would bring us the feeling of tension, I feel its so noble. The new generation piano trio has appeared to us.
When I listened to their play, I was already absorbed in their arts!!
J'étais à ce concert, quel bon souvenir ❤
As a native of Upstate NY (and a Billy Joel fan), in addition to his playing (and the whole band's), I love Nick's shirt!
As a native of Boston (and a Larry Harlow fan), in addition to disliking the Yankees (esp., the GIANTS), I like his shirt, too. ☘️
so goood thanks guys... this is awsomness ....and i have to think of the late " rip esbjørn svendson" esbjørn svendson trio was an other master trio in this field and i am sure they are inspired by them
they sadly never got the fame they deserved.. ( shure gogo agre and dont mind the comparison) try e.s.t esbjorn svenson trio live in timisoara jazz festival 2006 but finnish here first
Trois fucking Virtuoses !!!!!
Absoluement ❤😊
Simply magical. Thanks guys!
I revisit this every single time.
An incredible sound ! Absolutely amazing ! And what awesome trio...!!!
So genious and still young.
As an improvisor I am still trying to develop a trombone voice to the music of these geniuses.
Really difficult, their music so dense.
My favorite band at this moment !
has so much of massive attack it's incredible
👌
Instant chills at the end of the bass solo round 41:00, when the piano starts back up at 41:20
The music of the subconscious..an Unspeakable World. Thank you for taking me to an "upstate of mind"☺
¡Magnifique! Otra vez y otra vez
I'm impressed on how much The final result can change with that steinway sound. Just Amazing!
27:04
Don't pay attention, it's just for find One Percent more quickly lol
Holy crap, the first 4 and a half mins of Murmuration us unabashed beauty. I found these guys only yesterday.
Effin incredible soundscape such a treat
This finish of "one percent" at 34:00 drives me always crazy.
You're not alone mate...
Super tight
Muito bonito!
Me alegra ver a juventude indo além das gerações anteriores.
Parabéns e sucesso!
Excellent + prise son et images. Super bon moment à voir et revoir. Merci
This is absolutely fantastic.
That piano work definitely reminds me of Kapustin. Fantastic!!!
Can’t wait to see you guys in October in Paris!!
Had an Ahmad Jamal feel to me, but I get where you're coming from.
Grazie!!!
Fantastici siete straordinariamente FANTASTICI ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🥇
Just seen these at Gateshead Jazz Festival ... amazing!
*saw
So Great! Can‘t stop listening. Hope to See them live some day
their live was really amazying!
I'm looking out window at rare So Cal rain and this is perfect.
Merci de produire d'aussi bons musiciens
Amazing, spiritual, these. Gyes are angels😇
But first of all good musicians and composers 😊
Thanks for this graceful version. So reposeful!
WOW !
I'm glad you're here
Tout simplement magnifique!
RD🇩🇴 These tigueres "Dominican word to indicate a group of friends" are extremely great, both in the studio and live they sound identical, Braaaavooo...!
Long ago no heard something like this!!
Stunning. Just stunning
Discovered this amazing band in the sountrack from Fallout 4.... Best new jazz performers ever.... :)
what song did they do in fallout 4?
When is the song played in fallout?
What song in the soundtrack were GoGo Penguin responsible for, Butch Willis?
