Wow, some of these tracks sound like they'd actually belong in the game. Especially 2 and 5, they sound like what you should hear against a dungeon boss
5 played when i fought the first dragon on elysium remastered shit a brick when the health bar popped up, shit several liters of mortar when track 5 dropped too
I'm 100 hours in my new playthrough with this music. It blends perfectly with Jeremy Soules songs. Especially when track 2 plays I try to stall out the battles so I can hear more of the music haha
I was enraptured with your Melodies of Civilization and almost neglected to praise your combat tracks. This is the highest praise I can give you: I was streaming my game the other day for friends who haven't played Skyrim in years. I entered a huge battle with the Thalmor and Track 5 from this list started playing. (Track 5, incidentally, is your "Watch the Skies" in terms of epic.) The first thing my friends said was "What?! Jeremy Soule composed new music for Special Edition? That's awesome!" I let it ride and they totally accepted that Soule himself had come back to record new tracks before I finally admitted that no, in fact these amazing new tracks were composed by a genius fan and that it was a mod. They couldn't believe it.
That was an awesome anecdote, thanks for sharing it and for your kind words! What you describe, people feeling like the music had been there all along or that it as from an official source is my gold standard. It's what I strive for when I write music for these mods. I am glad that my music could lead to that nice and funny moment with your friends :)
seems like the second track has always been the vanilla boss battle theme in skyrim. not the dragons theme but the bosses at the end of each dungeon. very fitting good job!
Thanks! Feeling like vanilla music is the goal of my music mods, ultimately. Of course, this particular track has it way easier, as it's basically just an instrumental recreation of "One They Fear" from the vanilla soundtrack. Being basically the same as a vanilla track, it blends with the soundtrack really easily. It's something I've used much more extensively in my "Melodies of Civilization" mod :)
It's been a while since I played Skyrim, but often I come back here whenever I need to show someone what an "epic" ost should sound like. I think it's a crime that these 5 tracks only have 20k views and under 300 likes while some other inconsequential shit on RUclips has millions - it's truly a testament of our times that good - and free! - production like this is underappreciated while inane stupidity is almost obssessively consumed. Thank you for your work and for these amazing tracks.
Thank you :) I appreciate the kind words and your enthusiasm about my music! For what it's worth, I am really happy about how my Skyrim music is doing, both in terms on views here and in terms of downloads/endorsements on the Nexus. When I started doing this little series of mods, I didn't think it would do this well.
If you are looking for good fanmade music I could recommend Dreyma. His music is in the style of Jeremy Souls, but it still feels like something new. The music is really good and it's a shame they have so few views. You can also download the music via a mod and if I didn't know they were fanmade I would think they were vanilla.
When I was in battle and heard this 9:00 , I threw the gamepad out of happiness and cried. I don't know what to compare this track with. Along with the god of war or the witcher or any other AAA project, thanks bro
To be honest, I know next to nothing about Finnish classical music, so I'll take your word for it. I was mainly looking to the vanilla Skyrim tracks for inspiration, and just added a bit of punch. Thank you for coming by! :)
I guess you took Oblivion's soundtrack as inspiration since most of them sound like them( obviously with a little bit of your touch).Still it's amazing and using your mod in my Skyrim playthrough.
Good catch. I wanted these tracks to feel like they belong in game, and there's quite a bit of shared melodies between Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, so arranging and producing material from Oblivion into the Skyrim aesthetic seemed like a very strong foundation to work from.
@@CaptainCreepy9 Honestly, it works especially well when you have an Imperial PC as well, as the music fits in really well with them or any Empire focused character.
This is amazing because I used to use this mod a lot when Skyrim Special Edition was kinda in like its first stages ( long ago) and like I forgot about it and now I have rediscovered how amazing this music is lol
First track: Getting jumped by the enemy's ambush. 0:06 - "Sombody help!" 0:13 - First blood being drawn by a dagger.. then reciprocated by a whunk from a mace. They continue to swing and trade blows. 0:59 - "I'll mount your head on my wall!" Second track: 2:07 breaking out of NPC dialogue towards combat. 2:10 Getting nearly rek'd by a one shot attack. Pauses game to spam potions and potatoes to bring yourself back to health. 2:30 - Getting even from that near death experience 2:50 - Trading blows. 3:01 - Reminds me of mounted combat in the fields of Whiterun. The third track reminds me of Bleak Falls Sanctum, on my last legs while being cornered by draugr. Or a Civil War skirmish between the imperials and stormcloaks. Or breaking out Avulstein from the Thalmor. Fourth track: 5:53 - "Never should've come here!" *draws sword* Fave musical intro. 6:45 So the percussion were really somewhat off beat/janky. I thought I installed it incorrectly. I guess the dissonance effectively adds up with the feeling of tension. But it made me think I installed the music mods incorrectly.. haha Fifth track: More of a frontal combat / duel escalating towards a full battle. 9:06 - "Heal yourself my friend, you are injured! " - Inigo 9:34 - The disadvantaged one was able to recover and is now on the run. 10:00 - Final confrontation. The killmove is delivered around 10:29. Everyone sheathes their weapons by 10:39. "No sign of 'em." I'm glad AI Elias brought me here. Hearing it here in RUclips made me realize your music blends seamlessly with Skyrim; I actually thought it was part of the vanilla game. Thank you for bringing this! It really added to the combat. ^^,
I found your mods on Nexus the other day, and I just wanted to say. All of the music you made just is amazing. It doesn't take away from what I like about Skyrim OST. But it adds something fresh and new. A companion piece if you will. Makes me excited to see what kind of music you'd make for Starfield or TESVI if you make mods for em.
Thanks ! Making something that could fit right in was exactly the goal - in effect, something that should just feel like a natural extension of the soundtrack And yeah, I'll be writing music for both Starfield and ES VI
Just so epic , I imagine a thing at 9:00 an secret ending of the civil war that stormcloaks and empire are allies against Thalmor with the Dragonborn in a mission with a great battlefield. Ulfric: "Daughter and son of Skyrim, this day is important, for a long time we killed each other with the Empire, but in the end all this is only the fault of Thalmor!" Tullius: "Yes soldiers and legionnaires, we will fight with our dear old comrades of the stormcloaks, this cursed war, we must end the Thalmor!" Dragonborn: "So in your heart and mind, you are all of different races but of the same imperial mentality, you all! dismiss once and for all those accursed high elves who think they are superior to us!" Tullius: "For the Empire!" Ulfric: "For Skyrim!" Rikke:"For our sisters and brothers!" Galmar: "For our sons and daughters!" Hadvar and Ralof: "For the Dragonborn!" Dragonborn:"For Tamriel and its people!!!" All the fighters, soldiers, militias, mercenaries, guards raise their weapons and the Dragonborn with Tullius and Ulfric by his side go to the front against the army of Thalmor and all the large army running all. Accompanied with this music 9:00
Oh my fucking god I love this mod so much, every battle is like a damned movie and it's amazing. Tracks 4 and 5 in particular are so good, amazing work my friend!
5th track is fucking badass when the elder scrolls theme drops i love it so much. the other ones are ok, definitely close to skyrim tier, but the 5th one when the elder scrolls theme chant drops HOLY SHIT it drops harder than alduin copping 3 dragonrends by the heroes of old
@@TheConk16 I'd say theme 2 is better for a Dovahkiin boss. Fun fact technically speaking 'The one they fear' is basically your boss theme for the dragons-
Thank you! I might do that some day, but the ES VI teaser doesn't really have new musical material - it's really just the Dragonborn theme played on brass. I suspect it's not actually a fragment of the main theme - I don't think there even is a main theme for ES VI yet. If anything, it sounds a bit like a hyped up version of the ES Blades main theme.
