    Very informative. This is similar to how us Californians use “yeah” and “no” in different combinations to mean different things!

      Hahaha that’s true! I find it amusing when people say “yeah no” 😆

    Can you make a similar video with 뭐? I've heard people using it at the beginning of sentences. I always assumed it would be done like "well...", but honestly, I'm not really sure how or when it's used

    • @ni5439

      And I don't mean when it's used as a question word, I mean as a sentence opener

    It feels to me like using the phrase "no way" in English. For example if someone got a promotion I might say, "no way, that's awesome!" Or if someone accused me of something I might say "no way, that wasn't me!"

    안녕하세요. I saw you in the video A Glass with Billy. So, I decided to check out your channel. Great video. The versatility of the word 아니 reminds me of the word for '네' in Korean....almost too versatile to comprehend. 한국어는 공부하는 것이 재미있습니다.

    It’s kind of like "what?!", in English. It’s used as expressions, not just when wanting to know an answer. It can sound frustrated, or confused, or even shocked when you hear drama lol! 😂 감사합니다 ☺️

    For 3:34, is it literally when making excuses? Or even just normal reasons (which might be genuine) although the listener might think they are excuses?

    들어오다 / 들어가다
    나오다/ 나가다
    i always confuse them😅

    • @YourKoreanSaem
      @YourKoreanSaem  2 года назад +1

      오다 is come, 가다 is go.
      들어오다=come in, 들어가다=go in
      나오다=come out, 나가다=go out
      Hope this helps!

    In French we use the word "no" in a very similar way in the expression " non mais" ( = no but, pronounce 넝매).

    • @YourKoreanSaem
      @YourKoreanSaem  2 года назад +1

      That’s so cool! Love when similarities are seen across languages 😊

    • @redcapetimetraveler7688
      @redcapetimetraveler7688 2 года назад

      @@YourKoreanSaem , i think that our "non mais" and " 아니요" mean "listen to me !" placed at the start of the sentence.. and in my south ouest of France at the end of such sentence we finish with a "quoi" (콰 ), translate "what" but here meaning "what i've just said is important".
      the "non mais quoi" is the bread and butter of our arguments here lol .

    This is not related but I heard there’s a meme around the 칭찬해 verb. Can you explain what that is about?

    • @YourKoreanSaem
      @YourKoreanSaem  2 года назад

      I think you mean 아주 칭찬해? Used to say something is really good and worth complimenting. Although 칭찬하다 is more a verb and not an adjective (descriptive verb) so originally it could wound awkward but it seems to be trendy to say it that way...
