- This is a long video, but it keeps getting better and better. You guys are going to love this! Remember when I said that bears shed their coats in August and can look a little sketchy sometimes? I told you Susan brushes the bears, but many of you expressed disbelief, and rightly so of course - so I asked Susan to film herself brushing one of the bears. Here she is - with our most vocal bear Maddy. I KNOW you will all enjoy this. I think this is one of the best videos ever. I could not stop watching it!!

As you say. I call my boy bear at times...it feels so right.
It actually reminds me of when we brush our German Shepherd. Almost identical vocalizations and she (our GSD) rolls over on her back and waves her paws in the air.

The trust the bear must have to roll over and display belly like that. It’s a vulnerable position for animals. Such a sweetie!
Haha, that bear doesn't need trust. You may not be aware of how absolutely powerful they are. You might be able to injure them when their belly is exposed, slightly, but they can kill you in a single swipe. They can break the neck of a bull with only one hit.
They are as powerful as any ape and we are the weakest of all apes.

@idoj654123 well. It depends on the circumstances of said captivity. These are rescue animals, unable to be released. Most predatory or any animal for that matter must maintain a large territory in order to feed itself. Due to the food being provided, the need to roam for miles dissappears. Animals naturally will stay near an abundant food source to spend less energy getting their food. If the animals have what they need, even in a small space - a pond, grass etc- there is no reason for them not to have a good life. In order to support these facilities, funds must be raised, therefore paying visitors. Now, if some piece of shit goes of and kills a lion for fun then keeps the cubs for a vanity project, I would argue they are over compensating for a small dick.

Weird that my cat does the same thing when I scratch him near that area . Near his cheeks or around his throat and chin . Except his leg goes really fast lol. He pretends he's itching himself when I scratch him there lol . It's like when you strike a nerve . Like automatically flushing a toilet after using the bathroom . You've done it so long you can't get used to not doing it . He itched himself for so long when the pleasure that comes with a good scratch especially in the right spot . 😁😁 It's kind of funny

Maybe the bear is indeed happy, but it could just as well have been trained to be tolerant and to put up with the womans endless raking of its coat, and frequent slaps. The whimpering sounds could be interpreted as "Aw hell, not again".

Im in love with these bears. My girlfriend heard me talking about jenny and amy in my sleep the other night. She was thinking wtf until i started saying jimbo and realized I was dreaming about the bear videos id been showing her earlier that night. Then she just smiled and went back to sleep. I talk in my sleep all the time so its not unusual

I’ve watched Jim and Susan for a while and always thought these are the best looking Bears I’ve ever seen, they have fantastic coats … never did I think they brushed them. I don’t know Jim and Sue personally but I can tell they love these lucky second chance animals/family members …Help Jim and Sue out raising their family, it’s not cheep. I did dog rescue. I would honestly love to work with wild animals in rehabilitation. That would be selfish, I need to repair the world. You complain about Silicon Valley, we didn't intend this, but I and many others will correct it. I guess that is what I'm stuck doing. We will give you complete freedom of information, but that comes at a cost. This is why we've not done it before. We will make it possible for any data to be shared between people privately. We have to do it now that the 1st amendment is under attack, but we'll give the entire population complete privacy of any communication. We held back for a long time, this is Pandora's box we're opening.
