I showed my shedding cat this video hoping to inspire her by how well behaved the horses are while you brush them. She just kinda looked at me like "Yeah, well, I'm not a horse" before she took off.

Every night my cat “Butch” will remind me with a tap on my leg and a very vocal meow. I’ll tell home “if you want to be brushed then go get the brush” off he goes to his box and soon he’ll come back with one of many brushes I have for him. It’s funny how in the spring it’s usually the shedding blade he brings to me. My dad saids that cat is smarter then 90% of the human population.

What is it about boy cats? My 3 all hate grooming. No. 1, You can saddle and bridle me and take me outside but forget the grooming stuff, No. 2, Back off, I'll do it myself! No. 3, Try that and you won't see me til dinner.

Search: Horsehair Know How-Western Folklore Center
“Tools of the Trade: Braided, Twisted and Tied / Horsehair Know How
Traditionally, there were three basic ways to work horsehair: twisting, hitching, and braiding or plaiting. Ropes are mostly twisted. Bridles and quirts are hitched, and belts and hatbands are either hitched or braided.”
      - From Trappings of the Great Basin Buckaroo by Jeff Sailors
“…As the twister twists, you feed this hair out and it makes one strand. You'll twist maybe six of those single strands, and then you'll take three of the single strands and you'll twist them back together, around each other, in the opposite direction. And that holds them together. And you twist three together, then you twist three more together, so now you have two strands of three each. Then you double those two strands in half so that you have four strands, and then you twist them the opposite way, which is the way you twisted the single strands to start with. And when you twist them back together, those four, it twists back together real tight and then you have a finished product. That's called a mecarty.”
      - By Horseman and gearmaker Randy Stowell

We can all see how much you truly appreciate each one individually, Including your precious fur babies, your kitty Tiny, and dog Huckleberry. Life is not easy, and it takes a great amount of work and persistence. When I watch you I see not only a "clever cowboy", but a lovely, caring, hard working woman, who is unique in her own ways. This was so nice to see the horses up close, being brushed, and it allowed us to see their beautiful markings better. I did help groom the school horses (no blankets) but everyone had an inside stall. It's amazing how animals adapt in nature. At one time I felt sorry for horses outside in winter - after I got older the horses with only limited turnout (4 hrs daily) all had mental problems - weaving, cribbing, biting stall bars....like being in jail 20 hours a day. It was very relaxing watching you take off the horses winter coats. They all seem happy, even those that had a rough start......Thank You for being so KIND😊❤❤

A few years ago, I was given a shedding blade like you used in the video. Ingenious, why didn’t we think of it ourselves? lol

Pete has some dappling that looks like black panther spots. Such a pretty color. Don't know if it's true but I've heard dappling can be a sign of good health.

I love shedding season! Very satisfying CC! I'm sure your horses loved this. I'm heading out to work on my horses. It's very relaxing and a great way to bond with our horses. 🐎❤

Way back when I was young all I had was a curry comb and brush. You could tell that the horses enjoyed getting a good scratch while getting rid of all that hair. Love your videos.

I’m so thankful to find your channel.
Within 6 months I lost my youngest dog (6years old) in a freak accident, moved to the city and have to have my other large dog (same age) essentially fostered until I can fence in the yard and get a handle on the neighbors feral cats, and then I lost my soul dog (12 years old) to heart failure last month.
It’s been so rough personally, but being able to forget all my problems- even for just 5 minutes- and having my heart soothed by your lovely voice and narration, brings me a little joy and peace.
Thank you for sharing your life with us and giving me a break from an empty home. I know you’re all about horses but seeing Huckleberry reminds me of my youngest boy in so many ways, I’d love a little storytime about him!
Again, thank you for all that you do.
Best of luck in all your future endeavors and sending you lots of love!

Goose is such a pretty color. I had a horse of my own many years ago who was that color, although her mane and tail were flaxen. Love a nice red chestnut.

Ahhh, this was so satisfying to watch. I bet that feels so good to the horses; like a massage and a good scratch at the same time. I love all your horses and think they're all beautiful in their own right, but I have to say that Prim is just stunning! Gorgeous coat and coloration on her; what a beauty.
