kellen goff is probably the best voice actor in the entire series. not only does he voice funtime freddy and molten freddy, but he also voices sun, moon, and glamrock freddy. you can hear that he puts his all into the characters. even if i really dont like security breach, i absolutely love kellen's voices.

You could get more content by creating challenge runs of Sec-Breach than by milking it for Lore. And honestly, I'm perfectly ok with that.
Feels nice that you can treat a FNaF game as a game (granted, Not quite as intended), Instead of as a lore container.
Wouldn't surprise me if this is *the* most replayed FNaF game in the series for that reason.

Speaking of Roxanne, I have not seen nearly enough people talk about how the animatronics are sentient. Not, like, possessed by dead children and made feral or anything, just actual robotic sentience. And their entire purpose is to live in a children's play place and entertain them. You'd think something like that would really mess up a living being, and the craziest part is it actually DOES with Roxanne's actual image issues, that make complete sense, considering she's probably seen one of her friends (maybe like Bonnie) be taken apart for one reason or another, and just replaced by another endo, or gotten rid of completely. OF COURSE that would give one crippling self doubt, convinced she has to stay relevant or else the same will happen to her. With this story, to me it really does feel like it was going with a "What is my purpose - You pass the butter" moment, but it really didn't allow itself the spotlight for very long at all, and that is a real crying shame if you ask me, as it's infinitely more interesting than whatever's going on with Vanessa and Gregory and the million times over dead horse in the basement.

I mean if you think about it, they are all messed up in some way.
Roxy has imposter syndrome and self doubt
Chica is clearly deranged to the point of eating trash and injuring herself as she does.
Sun is neurotic and has some kind of ADHD
Monty is insanely violent having destroyed Bonnie before the game.
Freddy is a himbo with the brain power of a burnt out lightbulb (and we love him for it)😊

@@braedenmclean5304I'm pretty sure Monty has anger issues, at the same reason as Roxanne has her imposter syndrom. Their only purpose is to intertain children. It's a job for which you have to stay positive and keep all your negative feelings locked in. Monty is always being the second, after Freddy, no matter how hard he tries to get to the top, quite rage inducing. And you can't show it most of the time, you can let it out only at night.
Not to mention that he's mostly roaming the Golf Section with it's huge bucket, which knocked him off the catwalks a few times and deals with some other dangerous equipment.

To add on to the “sentience” that they have Freddy has a voice line when you bring him to the parts and services room. I kid you not, he actually has a existential crisis over it. First, he wonders if he is just Monty with a different shell, then wonders if he is the only Glamrock Freddy (implying that he might be aware that other pizzaplexes exist), then quickly spirals into asking if he is even special, art, or even if every animatronic feels the same.

Honestly, the background lore is often more interesting than the main story. The fact that Freddy and Chica have stuck around with a redesign, but Foxy got demoted to have Roxanne Wolf in main focus, with him being shoved off to the pirate cove corner as a mere cardboard cutout? Bonnie having been a full animatronic with his own area (Bonnie Bowl) and yet being "killed" somehow, BY Monty Gator, and not being just put back together for some reason? DJ Music Man going from a bit of a horrible joke to a MASSIVE ACTUAL DJ? Sun and Moon as a changeable animatronic with supposedly different purposes within Daycare on a normal day - are there times the daycare is turned to Naptime Mode? THE FACT THAT BEARS WENT EXTINCT?
I know it's a lot easier to imply things, and not have to actually flesh them out, but the implications of the background lore are FASCINATING and I would absolutely be interested in the worldbuilding and the "why" behind all these decisions.

A fun fact about the voice actors: Kellen Goff voiced both Freddy and the Daycare Attendant (Sun and Moon) in this game!
He was originally only slated to do Freddy, but one of the directors pulled him in to do a test voice for the Daycare Attendant and went "oh no that's horrifying, we have to let him voice these guys too". Kellen has continuously been one of the most iconic voices within the franchise!

While the game has a lot of flaws, I love it so much. The voice acting for Freddy is so good, and the little bits in the elevator (such as him saying "That wasn't me. I just want to make sure you know that." after the pizzaplex ad) are SO funny to me. I love Monty as a whole too, his voice, his stupidity, the fatal flaw they gave him, and dont even get me started on Gator Golf's background music. And honestly I think the most overlooked character design is DJ Music Man, I think this design is so cool. He's just a big party spider, he's your friend. Look at him, he's just jamming. Looking past the glitches and uh.... frankly mediocre story, you can see a lot of love that went into the game. If you haven't, go look up the whole OST for the game and listen to it, especially the unused songs. They're worth it.

The background action is genuinely so much more interesting than what's going on in the foreground (I.e Gregory and Vanessa/Vanny). Roxy's character is liked by many people for some, ah, less than innocent reasons, sure. But she's a legitimately good character, at least what we got of her out of the gutted remains of the game that was released. Also the animations for her shattered form are really good, with her jaw swinging loosely and her visibly tensing and turning towards but overcorrecting for sounds she can no longer see. Though her subtitles are really broken and I don't know why.
Also the stylized art of her is quite cute, and shows her character quite well.
The voice actor for Sun and Moon is the same person - Kellen Goff, a long-time member of FNaF's voice cast all the way since Sister Location, the first in the series to _have_ voice acting aside from Scott himself. His Funtime Freddy personality is the reason that character's visage remains relevant even in SB itself, after all. He also voices Glamrock Freddy, because his range is insane (and Freddy's death screen when you take the Vanny route is also Suns for some reason but I think that's just a mistake).
Anyways Sun is absolutely the most anxious thing you'll ever see and it's all thanks to Kellen.
Ooh, the endos! I love these guys. They're incredibly basic, yeah, particularly compared to how they apparently were supposed to be absolutely wild and varied based on that one in the beginning of the game who scuttles down like five floors of vertical concrete walls in under ten seconds flat. But while the concept is basic, the execution is absolutely amazing. The way they freeze _as_ you look at them, so you catch just a glimpse of them jolting to a stop; the way their eyes are red backlights in hollowed-out spheres so you really can tell, in dark or light, when they're looking right at you; the jarring and sudden sounds when you turn away. And of course the innate fear that their speed and number has inherent to it. Plus, they look a little goofy but I love 'em for it, they're so funny to look at while still being incredibly uncanny and scary due to the utter lack of emotion in their faces when their eyes don't move and their mouths aren't shaped into any expression. Their body language is stolen from others and it isn't the sort of poses that give you much anyways, so they're genuinely unsettling despite most of the game. It's so great.

As a fnaf fan literally from day 1, every time I say I love Security Breach unironically, people call me a new fan or talk about how bad the story is (as if the first game isn’t basically just sitting in an office and closing doors loll) which I don’t really agree? What made the stories from the other games so good was how they could be built onto by countless different theories which would make the story even deeper, Security Breach has that factor too with things like GGY (a story from Tales from the Pizzaplex about GREGORY that pretty much confirms he was patient 46 and possessed by Afton like Vanessa) which makes the plot about Gregory escaping the clutches of Afton for good after breaking free from his control, rather than just a random kid who snuck into the Pizzaplex someday. At least in the beginning, fnaf’s “story” was made up of almost entirely theories, so it’s a bit unfair imo to say that the one game that actually gives a full plot is the one that does a bad job yk? But that’s just a matter of opinion, people can dislike the story or not but I just wish they were more open to theorizing or looking deeper into details like they did with previous games

The daycare section as a whole was terrifying, it's probably one of the scariest sections in the game. Which is ironic considering it starts in a friendly lighting. But being suddenly thrown into darkness, with a dying torch and creepy enemy that sounds like he's all around is a great way to force in some tension. Plus the fact that you're in small, cramped play structures really adds to that. A lot of people can get frustrated with it due to them dieing constantly, but I think that's just negligence.

Honestly I feel like Security Breach's best character is the Pizzaplex itself. So much love and care went into every inch of this beast of a location, and it has potential far beyond the scope of just Gregory's campaign. Of course, this became the game's crutch, as it had to be carved up to match the linear story, some design choices actively harmed the monster AI, it was one of the root causes of the game's overambition and some areas never get the spotlight they deserve, but even then, I love it. I love digging into the deepest corners of the mall for environmental storytelling, I fawn over areas of the map that were cut (but are still present in the Lighttest of the PS4 Pre-Alpha) and one of the main reasons I am excited for the Ruin DLC is to see what they do with this monolith of a location.
I love Glamrock Chica's hidden bakery, the way Bonnie Bowl was designed to oversee Roxy Raceway, the mystery of the All Staff meeting in the break room, the old parking garages sealed by collapsed earth deep under the pizzaplex, the hidden observation platform overseeing the Glamrock Salon, the missing sections of the Utility Tunnels, the flooded FizzyFaz vat room, and the giant Glamrock Freddy statue hidden in the darkest bowels of the location.
I know this isn't part of the game specifically, but like, I've recently looked through the currently released/leaked Tales from the Pizzaplex stories, and now I can't help but try to visualise the locations and setpieces from there as part of the Security Breach universe. The Fazbear Waterpark, The Freddy Fortress climbing pipes, the Urban Legends Roleplay area, the Fast Freddy Coaster, the Faz-Tower apartments. Every one of these I feel could be retconned seamlessly into the Security breach we know. The pizzaplex is a well of near endless opportunity, and in my mind, it's one of Fnaf's greatest strengths going forward.

I just have a terrible need to continually replay it, break it more than I ever have the last time I did, because it’s just so fun? I do agree that cameras were pretty useful in the early game and in certain portions like finding things like in the music man section you can see the generators on the cameras and same goes for the Chica section in the trash area. My biggest issue is that it is very hard to work out where you are, so the most you can do is just hope you’re in a hiding spot where you can see Gregory, or get in and out of the hiding spot to hopefully see him. Just give Gregory an outline or something on cameras and we’re good

I have been sucked into this game for more than a year now, and it's all thanks to those daycare guys. The secret core of the security breach fandom is the daycare attendant fans, themselves. So many creative folks have been making art, animations, and writings, and it's greatly diversified the universe of the game in many different ways. My bit of positivity for the Security Breach is that I've been working on my own fanfiction for the game since the end of May last year, featuring the daycare attendant as the protagonist, and it kind of being a retelling of the game that happens after Security Breach's events. The game really shines with its characters, and they've been enough to keep my attention for well over a year now.

Would it be cool if the game had system chips that can upgrade your FazWatch.
For example:A speaker chip where you play an audio through cameras to lure animatronics away from your positions,A door chip allows you to lock certain doors preventing enemies from getting you,A night vision chip can help you see the cameras really well(since the PizzaPlex will be dark),And finally a masking chip which temporary jams the sensors of nearby animatronics which making you invisible to them and buying you time either escape or hide.
And would be also cool if there were Faz-coins to the game,You can use Faz-coins to play arcade games. And when you get a high score in a arcade game,u earn tickets. And when you still have enough Faz-coins and tickets, you can use them to buy things in the gift shops.

The game has its flaws, but it's the one FNAF game I'd genuinely dare to play, since I think it would be a lot of fun and is also not too scary. I'm a true coward when it comes to horror games (tho I still love them), so I actually do not dare to play any of them. But SB? Yeah, I would genuinely play it, if I could afford it!!

I have to say that I really like how every animatronic has at least a little personality in the game! The main four Glamrocks, the two halves of the Daycare Attendant, even DJ Music Man and the Staff Bots have some flicker of personality despite not having many or any voice lines at all. Everyone is incredibly charming in their own ways, even if you don't actually *like* their personality, you can appreciate that they have one.
Not that the animatronics in the previous games don't, but I do believe Security Breach is one of the most notable entries in the series for its animatronics' personalities.

  • @emilykallaher3091
    @emilykallaher3091 Год назад +2

I all honesty, I LOVE the animatronics in this game. Part of what makes a horror fandom (in my opinion) is the personality of the characters. I personally love Resident Evil 7, not for the gameplay and spooks, but because I enjoy seeing the interactions between Ethan and the Baker family. It's always fun to be able to sympathize with a protagonist or deconstruct an antagonist.
In contrast, I remember being a part of the fnaf fandom back when we only had games 1-4, where the phone guys were the only voice acting. We had no real personalities for any of the characters, and the fandom was a wreck as fans tried to sway others with their interpretations of characters that had no connection to canon. Then we got voice acting, but the characters' personalities and motives were inconsistent between games (think Baby and Afton).
Now we get security breach, which is a lovely breath of fresh air in terms of characters. They have distinct personalities that make fans care about them. While I do wish they had stuck more with the fleshed out motives (like it felt like they were going to in the trailers) I still think it's a huge improvement compared to previous games.

Security Breach in my opinion is actually one of my favorite FNAF games ever. Yeah, Steel Wool decided to take away a big chunk of the storyline, but overall, I think it is pretty put together. In some cases that being the intro when you start a new save, is actually a big advancement in this franchise. FNAF has come a long way, and the fact that we get to see THAT sort of animation now is insane if you think about it. One thing I will complain about though is some of the cut-scenes for most of the endings in the game (which aren't actually cut-scenes. Just comic-like scenes...?). And the fact that Steel Wool cut out a lot of dialogue that is still hidden from us just isn't fair. They need to add some of them in (including some that belong to their cut-scenes like when Freddy got "disassembled" by the controlled bots) in future updates or patches if they continue even updating this game. That's all I'm asking for. And this game would potentially be how we all wanted it to be.

    just a thought

The fact that I, personally, felt super disappointed with security breach but agreed with most of the topics you talked about just shows how this game have a lot a love and creativity put in it (which is why I felt disappointed in the first place, it had so much potential)
Freddy is by far my favorite part in this game, and I really wish they would've expanded more on the relationships between the animatronics (I know they're programmed robots, but fazbear entertainment could easily make stories about their characters for people to engage more with their products, just like disney with their parks)

There isn't a greater joy in games than bending it to your will just because. Whether you want to explore, or you want to speed run, or you just wanna test its limits or somethin, its fun to do. Most games see glitches as imperfections; something that makes their game appear to be lower quality or with less care put into it. But when a game like security breach comes out and players can break it, its like an unofficial gamemode is suddenly added to the game. It's fun as fucc and I wish more games let players do stuff like this simply because of how fun it would be.
