Love the nerdy talk, after this miserable summer I’m finally thinking about getting back out there. You’re a huge help, I’m from Oklahoma man and this fishing down here is a different animal you have helped me learn this fish here a lot more than anyone else. So I appreciate it and keep up the hard work brother!!!!!
I always buy fastest gear because most time my reel isn’t spoiled up to the maximum, which alters ratio. Also, how do you incorporate ipt ( inches per turn). Is ipt more important than gear ratio or just different?
Thanks Josh this provides a clear and simple explanation of ratios and applications appreciate the information and insight
Great info and video Josh thank you again
I’ve watched quite a few reel gear ratio videos and this hands down the best I’ve seen. You break it down perfectly! Thank you Josh!

Good info on a subject often overlooked.
Great info Josh,
Not boring at all
I didn't have a good understanding but I do now! Thanks
Good video Josh I love what you saying keep doing what you doing 👍
Learned this the hard way last week! Love the nerdy stuff
Thanks for making one for us nerds! Thanks for the great info once again
Good video as always...I fish mostly mid range rigs...if I want to go faster I have to put my beer down 🖖😎🍻
I think the Winch is 4.7:1. Love that reel for big cranks. Old school.
I just noticed that Tackle Warehouse does say they are 5.4:1. I'm sure I have older 4.7:1.

Only time you need a 5.4 ratio is if you’re running a 8/10 XD …
Just roll with a 7.1 or a 6.8 and you’re good.
