    Does the epoxy shrink/expand in heat now the guitar is finished? I’m having an issue where the cavity fill keeps changing depending on the conditions. Not sure if it’s the wood or the epoxy...

    • @thebmywoodroome
      @thebmywoodroome  4 года назад +1

      It doesn't expand/contract no. however i was never able to get it completely invisible. From a distance you'd never know but up close you can always see the outline no matter how much filler i seemed to use. This bass has since been refinished again and this is still the case!

      League Customs thanks mate. I think I’m getting there, it’s about 10 layers of primer and lots of sanding. But it does seem temperamental to temperate so I don’t think it will ever fully disappear.

    Where did u get ur pick guard?

  • @Nomad_za
    @Nomad_za 6 лет назад +4

    Hi sorry one mistake... Mark Hoppus has his pickup set up differently. His E and A String pick up is ahead of the D and G String.

      Cameron Heslop he did up until 2011. Post 2011 he had it reversed like this. I love the reversed sound :)

      I have been tempted to put stickers on it again as I have gigged it so much since doing this that it has got a bit dinged up! Thanks for watching, maybe check out some of my other videos or sub ;)

    the pickups arent correct, he uses 12 gauge seymour duncan p bass pickups but he inverts them to balance out the "woofs and twangs" of the bass. his words not mine :P

    • @ObiWanKenobi
      @ObiWanKenobi 6 лет назад

      Bryson Cooper he used to have the pickups set up normal in his first signatures

    • @CooperRossum
      @CooperRossum 6 лет назад

      what era? in cheshire cat he had a single humbucker in the bridge of his bass and had the inverted on dude ranch untill now

    • @thebmywoodroome
      @thebmywoodroome  6 лет назад +3

      You are 100% correct, he uses the SD basslines quarter pounder. However I tried that pick up and I actually didn't like the sound I got from it, kinda got lost in the mix so I went with the Fender 62' Custom shop reissue which I love.

    • @thebmywoodroome
      @thebmywoodroome  6 лет назад

      Yes correct. He only switched it in 2011 I believe. At least that's what the manufacturers of the pickguard say.

      League Customs makes sense, his sound was made to sound good by mixing cabs, similar to how Tom mixed a marshal and mesa, idk what cabs mark mixed but I know it's a weird one

      @@thebmywoodroome at 0:33 theres a sickle and hammer stickera little above the pickguard, its between sonic and the red woman
      btw, great video, every once in a while i come back and look at it...kinda want to do a similar proyect and have a j bass with that MH look (in either seafoam green or graffiti yellow), but i want to leave the jazz bass bridge and add a toggle to switch between the p bass and j bass pickups or have both
