You are a demon in the Underworld, made out of glass and pain. The Devil has given you a skateboard with a simple deal: Skate to the Moon and swallow it - and you shall be freed.
Ollie, kickflip, and grind your way through the ash and smoke of the Underworld as you take on a seemingly impossible quest. Skate fast to destroy demons and save other tortured souls on your journey from fragile beginner to hardened skater.

That might genuinely be the best tagline for a game I've ever heard in my life. I am 100% sold.
I know right reading that part hit me in my heart knowing the people behind this game know some of us skate to take the pain away just feeling the air and beautiful music like this just takes it all away for a bit..🖤

I really admire how it feels "Dark Souls" in a way. You are *very* aware this is going to hurt, kill you, and be extraordinarily difficult. But, you will still (quite literally) piece yourself back together and try again because you *have* to keep going.

It can be agonising to discover a game super early and then have to wait years for it to be playable, but that's fun and interesting in its own right. 😊

As a skater for almost 10 years I cannot even begin to describe how perfect this trailer is. I literally get chills every time I watch this
I skate for 28 years and this gave me chills. It looks amazing.
The imperfections in the landing animations really sell it.
“And yet you must skate” is the perfect words that come to mind when you are skating home, exhausted, and scraped up. Good stuff, to the moon.
Without a doubt, this is one of the few trailers that managed to win me over in every way. Actually, I lost the count of how many times I watched it👍☠

Devolver Digital continue to release the most out there and intriguing games of any publisher I've ever seen and I absolutely LOVE it.
and their cinematic universe is fun to watch too
Annapurna is doing their part, just a less action-packed flavor of weird.
I know they don't actually make the games, but they somehow have published 8/10-10/10 games almost entirely. They almost never seem to miss when it comes to projects to support, so they're always my favorite company to watch. They're like a megaphone for talented indie devs to yell through and give some of the most imaginative and well designed games the spotlight. Always the highlight of E3

@@azy9234 What I meant was they know what games are fun they poke fun at the market junk side the triple A company has fell into with their developers they support but devolver from what I'm told give the devs they support more creative freedom. So yeah, devolver rocks.

Ive found myself continually coming back to this trailer because of how well the music and visuals work together. Honestly bravo, best trailer I have seen in a long time. It still gives me chills when the music drops.

I've never been into skateboarding but DAMN those visuals look sick. Almost wanna get the game for that alone.
You don’t need to be into skateboarding to like skating games, the true appeal of Tony hawks games was just flowing, u ever see a mario 64 speed runner or meleee player just schmoving around vibing and free styling . It’s Almost half dance game half arcade high score combo building

I feel this myself. Skate games were hugely popular when i was a teenager and i played them with friends but it was never my thing. This is just so beautiful i have to support the devs.
this is why the game will be bad. Half of skateboarding culture is clothes and streetwear.
@@HoodrichShinobi and this is why we have skate 4, skate xl, session. For a change we got Skate Story idk why different choices are bad now (specially before the game's even released)
I remember when the dev of this game was making this a few years ago, this popped on my recommended on twitter from time to time showing some experimental crystal guy jumping and doing tricks on skate, and then the last post I saw was Sam asking DD if they were interested in it. I'm really glad it made it here

This was my highlight. Something about the visual style paired with the music and the weight of the gameplay really resonated with me.

It’s amazing how indie games are always so much more conceptually interesting and aesthetically striking than most AAA games with a budget of millions.
This will be great, i remember seeing Sam develop the game on his discord, was great back then, it's just amazing now. Happy to see he managed to find a publisher that cares about games. GL
This looks AMAZING. I'm gonna start listening to Blood Cultures just because of this trailer in order to prepare myself for this game. Hope it has at least a decent story because it looks like a game that can really send a message home. Great job!!

this is pure class. The visuals are something I have tried for years (and failed miserably), so easily and beautifully done. I really love it. Excellent work. It would be interesting to know how the reflection on the humanoid is done, its maybe just a shader with a texture, looks so cool though.

I teared up watching this. I can remember playing the old Tony hawk games and feeing the love the developers put into their projects. More and more games nowadays feel like soulless attempts to monetize a medium we have come to love, making it almost unrecognizable from what it once was. Seeing this trailer give me hope I can get that same feeling I used to get, busting out gnarly combos and enjoying something that was crafted as a gift from one romantic to another. I’m buying this as soon as it releases. I hope it doesn’t let us down.
Sam Eng gave a interview to my game intro class at UO 2 years ago and demoed some of the alpha footage when he was working in new york, dude has come far from the alpha man, of which he already spent two years up to that point! He inspired me to start making my own game as well, hopefully I can make it as polished as he was able to make his game! its pretty rad since this is all made in engine too!

the fluidity and expression in the way this character skates looks impressive
After all the mindless killing, the blood inside the superhot guy has cool down. He then become the skater, skating away from the violence behind.

This is like playing a short film or a music video, but again you are actually playing it. So stunning that you really have to see this to believe how good it looks. This is the beauty of a small project, when someone will continue to tweak and tune the art direction without compromise until they've achieved something so beautiful and distinct.
The foot placement and set up for each pop and flick trick looks amazing!
