No matter what free to play options are available we need to be able to be isolated and play skate alone

EA don't like actual effort. I mean, just look at this crap. Camera is too high. Everything is too bright and colorful. Gigantic ramps on buildings. It looks awful. Where's the grit? Where's the realism? Skate 1 and 2 were amazing. This looks like Skate 3, except worse.
@@laurenalexander4438 The style they're taking the game in has nothing to do with a lack of effort, it's a stylistic choice. Most people, myself included, preferred the arcade feel of skate 3, although I'm sure there will be settings for more realistic skateboarding.

Most fun I had with the previous games was skating alone in the story mode.
“Offline Mode & Story Mode” is Much needed
I’m glad everyone is stressing how important a story mode is it’s not just about freedom and creativity. You also need the aspect of enjoying a part of a story on your own. I think too many games do this to a player where they just want you to focus on an environment when really it’s all about the journey.
Blame Minecraft
The world has turned children into full on addicted gamblers with the thin veils of "sweepstakes" and microtransactions. Not that companies didn't do this beforehand, but nowadays companies will make a sh!t product intentionally because it will still rake in the dollars in microtransactions from 8 year olds.
They don't care if most don't want that, enough dumb kids will play the hell out of it and a handful of adults will blow plenty of money on it.
Exactly how skater xl is only enjoyable for so long, sandbox skating is cool but story is a must with the side missions ect

Playing with friends is great, but being able to explore alone is really really nice to have. Most of my fun in Skate 3 wasn’t even in the online mode. It was in the bits of exploration and just straight up flowing through the locations that were the most enjoyable part. I’m hoping there’s and offline or single player mode to allow that without needing to be forced into MP 24/7
I think there will be or if not at least a private session mode where you can skate alone among ai and not be joined by someone you don't know

Essentially you'd be playing "online" but in a locked room.
I really wish they give you that option.
But something tells me they will FORCE players to be in open lobbies because they'll be pushing cosmetic stuff.

Needs:
1) Offline/ single player story mode
Wants:
1) Primo slides/ flips, casper flips/ stalls
2) One foot manuals
Dual stick (one for each foot) and a realistic catch mode!
also the gravity looks super low, everything else seems like they're trying to make it more grounded so it rlly takes u out seeing people float through the air
There needs to be an offline mode, especially for mobile. It’d be great being on a train or car journey and being able to mess around in skate without having to be online!
We need a feature to be able to film "co op" skate footage. One guy holds the camera and follows the other guy

Offline mode would be sick, but I think the most we will get is at the very least, private servers for you and your friends. I hope we get that on launch, as I wouldn't want to play with randoms all the time.
While skating the city is pretty cool, I think it should be a given that there should be normal skateparks dotted around the city as well for authenticity.
1,000% It always felt weird to me how in skate 3 the only spots that are reminiscent of a skatepark are a wildly unrealistic mega/flow park, the starting practice area that looks like the skatepark budget was $250,000,000 and an absolutely massive bowl innocuously thrown into the middle of what looks like a high school
track and field practice area.
Definitely would love to see a little inspiration taken from the more grounded skateparks of San Van from 1 & 2 to be thrown in alongside some of the more ridiculous stuff.
We need customizable deck sizes! Everything in the gameplay looks like a 8.0" boards...
Such a big thing hey, board, clothing & skate style customisation is a must

This is the only feature I need to be 100% sold on this title. I’ll be enjoying the multiplayer with friends, but I really want the option to play alone without being online.
I played the cracked version offline and it controlled perfectly. But then I got the legit playtest which is online only and I couldn't do any of my tricks because the lag busted the input detection. If there's no offline, I'll just stick to Session, the cracked pre-pre-pre-alpha of Skate or Skate 1.

I want the developer to add a story mode
All of my hopes and dreams for this game crushed as soon as I heard ‘free to play’
The "dymanic soundtrack" means they can't afford to keeo paying the licenses to use the music in a live service game. Due to the nature of a live service game (F2P too in this case) it means the game is constantly updated and therefore requires a renewal of license every so often. Or instead, get new music instead of paying the raising asking price when the game inevitably does well and labels ask for moee.
That's probably the truth.
I really hope there's a low camera like skate 1 and 2, it always made skating feel a lot more dynamic and fun.
I also wish for a custom skate park creator like Skate 3, it's my favorite feature of that game.
I think they showed off both those options being available in their progress videos, might be wrong though

Watching this video I was concerned there might not be an offline story mode but the comments have done me proud.
I love that actual skaters are working on the game and even the people who maybe don't skate are still really passionate about it.
I hope they add immersive proximity chat. Imagine how hilarious it would be to hear someone's scream or something whiz right past you realistically
I hope they populate the levels with more everyday structures, I feel like the designers just slap ramps n rails everywhere in an otherwise blank area. You do realize that isn't like skating in reality, finding a spot isn't coming across a hidden ramp, it's just us interprating everyday obstacles into something to skate upon, seeing it through our skater eyes.
Session nailed this with their levels. So packed full of interesting obstacles.

This game is free man, it’s fixing to be loaded to the brim with microtransactions. It would be safe to assume there is some sort of season pass in it too. It’s EA, one of the greediest companies there is

Thank you for the update guys, the game is really starting to look amazing ! Here’s a few details I’d love to see in game :
- Day and night cycle
- Low fisheye view like in Skate 1 and 2
- Cars and pedestrians to make the city more alive
- Security gards
And last but not least… baggy pants !!

@@SebastianOchoa-h9f No, but it needs a level of realism to translate cool tricks actually being cool to pull off! It's fun learning how to skate because you subsequently learn how to do new things that are fairly dangerous if not done properly, and it feels amazing to finally be comfortable enough and skilled enough to do! If everything is floaty and arcadey everyone is going to fly around the map doing the exact same tricks in the first week and the game will die faster than concord! It needs realistic visuals to translate the brutal and unforgiving world of skateboarding!
Nah I don’t care about story mode it was cool in the older games but after finishing that in a few days the best memory was playing online with a bunch of friends

I would love to see some more tattoo or body modification options! I have multiple piercings, stretched ears, and a whole body worth of tattoos and I really want to be able to represent myself accurately in game! Skateboarding and tattoo culture go hand-in-hand, and it just becomes more true as time passes

Skate x Teddy Fresh would be SICKO MODE
One of the things that really stuck with me from playing skate 3 and interacting with it's community is that most people have a district where they basically never go, for me it was downtown, for others it was industrial or university...
Do you (the devs) feel like you know what made certain districts feel inaccessible or otherwise unfun for certain demographics of players, and do you have a plan to hopefully address that for skate 4?
I realize that this is just asking "people have likes and dislikes, do you plan to make people have less dislikes," but I'm genuinely curious if there were design lessons that you learned from community feedback on an area-wide scale that you plan on taking into account as you design new areas?
I want on offline full blown story mode skate Career mode.
It still bothers me how the landing of tricks is so floaty but otherwise it's gotten pretty decent!
All these comments about offline single player shows where many fans' interests are. I also don't want this microtransaction, f2p version of this game. If you genuinely want a change, don't play this game at all when it comes out. The moment you play it, you justify Skate's greedy decision to ignore fans and try to gouge as much money from us as possible

Honestly gives me Fortnite vibes, from the background to the free to play to the micros to the no offline, can yall just give us quality games back, everything is just imitated and pushed out to us🤦🏾♂️ majority of these games today lose replay value after a few months.
I just want to buy a game, play for some hours, complete the story, and move on. the direction the videogame industry has taken with the game as a service concept is totally cancerous.

When we climb walls, will the animation put the skateboard behind the character (perhaps attached to their belt somehow), or will we just use the force like the previous games to retrieve it?
I do want to request that you add in playing with both sticks, like introduced in Skater XL/Session the old flick it mode isn’t for everyone

My idea for a extra feature: FPV drone mode, filming your friends with a freestyle quad would be so much fun!

I played Skate 3 over and over again on my PS3. I still get out my PS3 from time to time to play Skate. I just love exploring the world and skating. It always felt so peaceful and helped me forget about time and my worries. It was so nice. Looking forward to it!"

A nice way to integrate a story into multiplayer would be a contest area wich also changes every season where you can compete against other player once a week to win prices
But there need to be a little story maybe with skill points? I dont know but the way from rookie to pro is a must have

I think the best thing they can do is listen to feedback which I mean is a given, but isn’t always easy to implement especially with being backed by a larger company like EA. But with it being in development the way it is, the open dialogue they’ve seemed to have with these updates, I can only hope they do the skate series right and we get the game it deserves.
I want to be a part of the Console Playtesting if possible. I love the SKATE franchise and super stoked to see this game come to life.

Thats why even Tony Hawks Underground was successful. It has a story, cut scenes, goofy, and you had to progress to unlock items. Not all of us want everything unlocked from the start. That's what cheat codes used to be lol.

as for playing alone you can create your own server which idk why you would want to not play with randos and make friends and challenge eachother,

Based on what I’ve heard from the playtests the private create a park is returning!
I’ve seen a lot on the games development, I think I remember a feature like mass collaboration zones being mentioned in one of the older dev logs! It isn’t too far off to think that individual players can maker smaller private zones.
And like @emoclowngirl said, if they take their time and make sure to build off of previous features, we will probably end up with a good system for it!

This game looks incredible, but I’m so worried about it not having offline single-player mode. That’s what gave S3 such a long lifespan.
Same thing I was thinking. I get that the game is still in “pre alpha” but the environment looks worse than previous skates imo
idk i used to throttle my wifi to get in solo gta online lobbies, i'd imagine that would be an option if needed. though i can't believe they wouldn't allow the option

Its EA.. theyre gunna find a way to screw it up. F2P is a scam and always will be. They will force you to have an account, you will always have to be online and once the servers get shut down (planned obsolescence) you wont be allowed to play it.. just my prediction.

It's just the way the world works now, unfortunately. Game development budgets are bigger than ever, and live service with microtransactions has been proven time and time again to be the most profitable method. At least the game is free to play rather than full AAA price WITH microtransactions like some other games

Agreed with both suggestions, and to add to this: it needs to have the starting area of Skate 1. Not just for the memories, but having replayed 1&2 recently, it's the best designed normal skate park spot in both games.

Story mode idea: realism/pitfalls of being a pro skater, almost going broke to make it, getting injured, rival skaters going viral, maybe have a “brand” screw you over after shoe deal gone wrong, have Slappy come back in some way, maybe a skater who is supposed to be your mentor screws you over and takes your board sales so you have to create your own board company and defeat them. Maybe the characters parent was skateboarding royalty and it’s their mission to follow in their footsteps.
You dont want obnoxious people getting in the way of tricks your trying to land 24/7 and toxic 12 year olds screeching at you???

These devs have no leeway. Every word is scripted by corporate as well as the game being made live service.
