Yep. Then Jerry had to go and mess up a good thing. He's still payin for that huge mistake!
EXACTLY
Jimmy had 3 more sbs in him.
I agree
ABSOLUTELY
The worst thing that could've happened to the Cowboys in the long term was, ironically, winning that third Super Bowl. Now, I know that no Cowboys fan will trade it for anything else, but what that third Super Bowl did was convince Jerry that he was right, that any coach could've won the way Jimmy Johnson did. That's when Jerry's ego ballooned to a point of no return, and that's why the Cowboys have only won four playoff games since then.
Troy Aikman was a helluva quarterback and one of the Best to ever play the position.
Just imagine, what might have been, if Jerry Jones ego hadn't got in the way of Jimmy Johnson, and team management. There is a reason the Cowboys haven't won a Superbowl in nearly 30 years. This isn't going to change this year (2021) either.
Jimmy won three SB's. The '95 team was his.
Just imagine where the cowboys would be right now if he wasn't fired😭
@@jalenmitchell9218 they’d win only 1 more maybe. Jimmy has said he doesn’t stay long on teams.
1995 team was Barry Switzer's. 27 guys on that team never played a down for Jimmy. People conveniently forget the Cowboys were a farm team for the NFL. We got pillaged because of free agency and the salary cap. Jimmy sticking around wouldn't have changed a thing.
Most players loved Switzer. Aikman and a handful of others either didn't like him or weren't huge fans.
@@supersexysega Jerry is that you?
@@supersexysega How many of those guys were starters? How many got serious playing time? How many were play makers? Allen, Case, Donaldson, Sanders come to mind but who else from that group of 27 really made a significant impact? I don't get your love for Switzer and disgust for Jimmy. I can only assume that you're an OU homer. That's the only way this makes sense. Sure FA and the salary cap depleted the roster year after year. But do you really believe Jimmy's eye for talent wouldn't have found adequate replacements or that his coaching style, which you call bullying, wouldn't have gotten the best out of the players new and old? I don't why I asked that because I already know your answer. A lot of players loved Switzer because he was soft, and because of him, the damn thing completely imploded in '97.
When Aikman got hot, he was as good as any quarterback who's ever played in the NFL. Of course it didn't exactly hurt to have the "Great Wall of Dallas" pass blocking for him.
Good ole doomsday defense
Troy Aikman played that second super bowl with a concussion from the NFC Championship game. He later said that he doesn't remember a single play from that game or the entire week.
DoubleOhTheG and he played badly. Should've played kosar in the super bowl. Troy was tough without a doubt though
@@отпирайте Kosar? No way lol they still won
After their first SB win they had a parade for Aikman in his hometown of Henryetta Oklahoma. Nearby town for me and he threw me a pass and I caught it. One of the last dropback QBs I've ever enjoyed watching play. Dropback and throwing motion was beautiful. Fun to watch
Cheers lad.
Sure you did. Keep smokin bro. 🙄
Sure
Tell me you didn't throw it back...
If Jimmy stayed they would have won 4 in a row. What a shame. Could have been record setting. But once Jimmy left the armor began to chip away. Theg won in 95 despite of Barry Switzer. That team was so special and one of the happiest times of my life as a sports fan but the what if's always pop up. I really think they would have won 4 in a row.
Agree. Jimmy Johnson put together one of the greatest teams in NFL history. That team winning 3 Super Bowl's was underachieving. If Jimmy Johnson had stayed the Cowboys could have won 4-5 in a row.
They would of won 5 Super Bowls total at least man
For some odd reason, even with three super bowls, I still don't think aikman gets enough credit.🤔🤔
aYall gonna be CRYIN for ROMO to come back by week 5 .. DAK got lucky
You are right, ALL COWBOY. I love that he spent his career in Dallas. Thanks Troy from a Cowboys fan ever since Don Meredith was our QB
best dynasty ever! we should have went four straight but three is good. thanks. now its the new ear of triplets to get us another three.
well there isn't a wr to fill in for the triplets now, so I wonder how that will go
Well, Cowboys didn't go three straight. They went 3 in 4 years. Best dynasty ever? Absolutely not. The Patriots dynasty is the best because it's lasted the longest, followed by the 49ers, then the Packers of the 60's, then Steelers of the 70s. Cowboys of the 90s would be last on that list.
how about Tom Landry dynasty
I'm glad we crushed you in 94 and won the Super Bowl for San Fran
Erik Willams plays in the 94 Championship and the boys woulda won 4 SB in a row ~
Could’ve won 6 if Jimmy didn’t get the boot
Hasnt been a cowboys team like this since ......sad
Man I love this team
#GoCowboys
No great suoer bowl teams or dynastys came in more clutch them the tripplets did in the play offs and those 3 suoer bowls none look it up they were Goats all three of them Aikman amd Irvin were both held back on have greater numbers through out there careers becausr of Emmit amd the big line
Fuuuuuuck!!!! America's team needs another superbowl!!!
I have absolutely no doubt if Jimmy Johnson would have stayed the Cowboys would have at least 3 more NFL Championships.
That Cowboys team could have been the New England Patriots before the New England Patriots. We could have won seven championships and Steve Young, Farve and Elway would have retired with none.
Alas the good old days!....😢
Too bad Jerry Jones wont sell the team to someone that really wants to win a Super Bowl.
As a long life 49er fan.. Dallas cowboys was a team I hate it so much especially in the early '90s but the reason I hate him so much was because they were really good and they knocked the San Francisco 49ers to NFC championships in a row.... Now during that 94 off season the 49ers went out got Ken Norton Jr and then they got probably the best man to man coverage cornerback of all time deion Sanders but I like to think one of the reasons why I thought that niners finally had a chance to beat the cowboys was the fact that Jimmy Johnson left and to this day I will never understand why Jimmy Johnson did not finish his career with the Dallas cowboys... They could have easily won two or three super bowls more... No I can understand why Jerry Jones maybe felt the way he felt like he wasn't getting enough credit but as an owner of the Dallas cowboys why would you care about getting credit if your team are winning super bowls?? There's a reason why owners hire general managers and head coaches to run the team I mean Jerry Jones and other owners like him didn't grow up around football all their lives... That's why a lot of owners prefer just to stay in their office and let the general manager build his team and let him pick his coach and maybe you maybe he can suggest which coaches that you want but let the general managers decide now don't get me wrong Jerry Jones is one of the best owners in the NFL... And I think he was the one that wanted deion Sanders to come to Dallas after the 49ers beat the cowboys in the 94 championship that was a brilliant move... But I think his worst mistake and he's still paying for it to this day is the fact that he let Jimmie Johnson leave.... He should have never went to Miami to coach he should have stayed his entire career as the head coach of the Dallas cowboys like I said before and to me he's one of the greatest coaches of all time.... Former owner Eddie D who owned the San Francisco 49ers back in the day was actually considering Jimmy Johnson as their head coach now they ended up with George seifer and George seaver said that he felt like he was the right pic to be the head coach at that particular time and yes he didn't win two super bowls but you can argue that that was more Bill Wash's teams especially in '89... But George cifer made one huge mistake and that was to let go of Charles Haley and he didn't just let him go he traded them to the Dallas cowboys which made them contenders for the super bowl... And don't get me wrong George seifer is a person that I respect and he was a good coach but look what happened when we went to Carolina Panthers people thought that he was going to change the entire team one season and when they won their first game in Carolina every thought that they're going to go far that season but they ended up losing the next 15 games and the record was one and 15... That's probably the main reason why he never made the Hall of Fame
How bout dem' Cowboys!
Oh, Jerry Jerry Jerry, you just couldn’t set your ego aside for the betterment of the team…with Jimmy the Cowboys would have dominated the 90’s!
I can't believe it's been nearly 30 years!
Thanks Jerry for ruining a good thing Dallas has suffer for years
there's a lot of fan bases through out al sports leagues that hate their owner, I don't know why Cowboys fans don't hate Jerry Jones. He ruined a potential dynasty & ll because it wasn't enough to win multiple Super Bowls, he needed to create an evironment where he gets all the credit. The Cowboys have only won while Jones was owner when it was Jimmy Johnson's team, even when he wasn't there he was stil there. jerry Jones' teams don't win diddly squat.
'
You clearly don’t know any Cowboys fans because the vast majority of us despise Jerry
TROY AIKMAN WAS THE BEST QUARTERBACK THAT DALLAS EVER HAD.
1:22 such a nice catch
IF HE HAD PLAYED IN A PASSING TEAM HE WOULD BE THE GOAT
Brady and Montana are on a different level than any other QB..
Brady had the same coach for 18 years if aikman and Jimmy j stayed together they would have 4 5 straight super bowls
No he wouldn’t he threw a lot of ints
No he wasn't that guy. Whenever Aikman had to become a one dimensional player he was generally at his worst with the odd brightspot.
In 1997 we threw more then he was accustomed too and it was an absolute trainwreck. He needed great protection and the threat of the run aka the perfect situation to thrive.
In 1998 and 1999 we were still a really good team. Aikman started 11 games in 1998 and only got sacked 9 times. In 1999 14 games started and he was sacked 19 times. Both years we had to count on Jason Garrett and he pretty much played at par with Aikman slightly worse.
If he played in a pass heavy team he would've got exposed.
I don't think anyone who did't get to experience that Cowboys dynasty will ever realize how great Aikman was; he was the fckinh MAN
Jerry Jones's ego ruined the dynasty, if Jamie Johnson remained the coach we had a chance to win probably 2 or 3 more Superbowls in the 90's.
They could have easily won another 3-4 SB if Johnson stayed.
3-4 more...that's stretching it. Maybe in 94 but after that the players were aging. Tough to replace the talent they had with the salary cap
Amazing how they came from the laughing stock team to winning back to back Superbowls!
I hope they gave Herschel Walker a ring. Without that ridiculous trade they probably dont even win a playoff game.
If Deion Sanders gets called for PI they might have went 4 in a row that four year span they were clearly far and away the best team in the NFL San Fran and Steve Young got em tho Dallas in 94 dug themselves a massive hole in NFCCG almost came back
whats wrong with this viideo? why doesn't it look, correctly?
Those Super Bowl TD passes were perfect spirals.
nice
If jit stays i truly believe the cowboys win 5 in a row we would have 7 total rnow we could have been the greatest dynasty ever no argument i hate jerry jones
Brett Farve and the Packers were coming in hot and were unstoppable in 1996 and 97. An aging and exhausted Cowboys team wouldn't have made it past 1995 without some svengali roster management and drafting from Jimmy.
@@RichV20 and with Jimmy there thts exactly what would have happened
i wish i could watch the full football life but i dont have nfl network and i dont want to go to all these websites and i dont have a credit card

Great Great quarterback
Great Great quarterback
Dark days for the NFL
everything romo could never be .
Rico Stacks Both were great Troy and Tony both were great QBs just Troy had a better offense than Tony
Why comparing him to an a super bowl hall of famer bro? From where romo came from he did damn well man
Love the song
in ALL honesty i did do and/or probably will SOMEWHAT like aikman and he was elite FOR SURE
Pp
Whats the full documentary in this called?

Aikman ruled but only after Emmit became part of the team. Dallas has always been a championship team if they had a star running back to take the load. Aikman spent a better part of his playoffs in concussion protocol . Plus our defense was unmatched at the time . Defense will always win you a Championship in any sport
My second favorite QB ever right there. Wish his career lasted a little linger/ended a little different.
My favorite Cowboy of all time !
Dak's turn
Dak? LMAO!!. He cant throw deep. And his throws are way high. He had success because they deked and dunked short game most the season. And its a proven fact when a rookie QB who is not a complete bust starts his first year. Defenses cant figure him out. I am a Dallas native and fan. But i dont see this guy s a top QB. This year. They will figure him out. And yall are gonna be crying for Romo to comeback by week 5
Neil Tipton lol you predicted exclatly what was going to happend
@@mikhaelsundin1798 or did he....
Troy the boy toy was over-rated as a QB.
Troy Aikman only threw more than 20 touchdowns once in his 12-year career....smh
@@msp5138 Troy Aikman was not the main reason the Cowboys won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years. Emmitt Smith was the main reason. Aikman was overrated.
Cowboys 4-12 last year. Most likely 14-2 or 15-1 this year. From bad to great just like in the 90's. It's been 21 years CowboyNation but I think a new dynasty starts this year!!!
N.Y.Cowboysfan4life N.Y.Cowboysfan4life if they don't lose a single other game and win it all, it a perfect season in my head. That week one loss to the giants was stupid, we were going to win, just a dumb mistake.
N.Y.Cowboysfan4life N.Y.Cowboysfan4life lmao cowgirls will never make it back to the bowl
Lol
World champs, in a sport played by only one country.
lol
true
AIKMAN WOULD HAVE HAD BETTER NUMBERS AND WON MORE CHIPS THEN YOUNG AND ELWAY IF HE WAS ON THOSE TEAMS
bs.. his team was objectively more stacked
the bills deserved atleast one of those Superbowls
Kyle Simber nah. U good 😊
vikings?
They should have won the Super Bowl against the Giants but you know what happened. Cowboys were too dominate for them
Wide right
MainzNullFuenf agreed they should of beaten the Giants but we all know what happened..they have no chance in the other three sbs
And He will forever be the last Cowboys QB to hoist the Lombardi
N.Y. King and Eli manning to
N.Y. King obj is overrated
J Anthony Giants about to tie it up at the end of the season.
J Anthony Stay Tuned.....
N.Y. King ...hey n.y.....fuck you!
Does anyone know the name of the music that played from 0:51 to 2:55?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Likewise I've been looking for this music track for a long time and haven't been able to find it

JustAGuy OnRUclips!4K nope! The cowboys will forever be 5x super bowl champs and you can’t do nothing about it, so keep crying 👍👍
Troy Aikman lead to win back-to-back world championship Super Bowl 1992 and 1993 forever Dallas Cowboys are the best Dynasty to be the next Roger Staubach led to win two Super Bowl champ in 1971 and 1977 it was a dream come true for 4 time World Championship professional football the 70s Pittsburgh Steelers the 80s San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys two for the 70s and two for the early 90s
so he copied Joe Namath, brilliant
Donald Trump looks just like him lmaooo
Its hard to admit as an Eagles fan but from 91-96 aikman was the best quarterback in the nfl in my opinion.
I'd still take Young, Elway and Marino before Aikman during that era. Aikman was a very good QB with weapons in the class of Kelly and Montana and Moon. Aikman's around #4-5 QB of the 90s.
As a Life long Cowboys fan, Aikman was extremely overrated. You replace him with Favre,Elway,Young or Marino and we still win those 3 chips. maybe even more.
True.....but they had better coach staffs (during the latter parts of their careers)............Aikman had Barry Switzer!!!
#5xSBchamps! #AmericasTeam! #WeDemBoyz! aikman only cared about winning, and when you clearly have greater talent around you, you let them shine more to get the win. Many of those guys you named (apart from young) were the workhorses of their teams. What I'm trying say is that they wouldn't have had to chance to show off their abilities in that cowboys offense (you really gonna throw it 35 times when you got Emmett?).
If you replace someone with 4 Hall of Famers, they still win? No shit???
I agree somewhat. Michael Irvin made troy aikman. But Aikman was a product of the system they ran too.
David Dittmer Still look like a Hall-of-Famer QB from 92-95!!!
Such an over rated QB. He had an awesome O line that made him look good. Before he had that line the Eagles sacked his sorry ass 11 times in one game. That’s the real Troy Aickman.
Jerry Jones cost Dallas the possibility of 4-5 SB by firing Jimmy Johnson
