Who the hell picked these songs and the portions of the songs to highlight??? it was way too much voice-over and not enough vocals to showcase the talent and "demonstrate' why these songs are difficult to sing. I hate when people take time to make a video like this and then do a lousy job.
I wish “He Touched Me” was included. The building of that song and the final notes are astounding. Breathtaking. Barbra said this week during an interview with Howard Stern that “her voice was “good” but Judy Garland’s was great.” Garland was an astounding singer but to me Streisand has the edge.
I love them both but have to agree with Ms. Streisand here.... and the difference boils down to this... Garland was VERY adept at making you FEEL the lyrics. Barbra is probably a more gifted technical singer....
I grew up singing with Barbra's songs. She helped me learn about breath control and dramatics in my own singing. She is a true original! Never had a singing lesson.
A lot of my dynamics come from Barbra songs. I grew up with Hello Dolly! and throughout the last 2 decades of my life (I'm 27) so much of my vocal skill is learned just from listening to Barbra and singing along. However I do have some classical voice training so I know where I need to put my voice to get the sound right, but Barbra is great for someone who wants to learn dynamics.
I still think her entire movie Yentil has her hardest continuous moments. Especially about the last 15 or 20 minutes. Her finale on board the ship as they sail into NY harbor is incredible.
“People” defines her style, vocal quality and range. It was the first song I ever heard her sing when I was 6 or 7 and has been my favorite ever since. I’m 65 now and no other song has topped it in my opinion. Her “One Less Bell to Answer/A House is Not a Home” is a close second. The Rodgers and Hart album is my favorite album of hers. Cheers!
This woman is ineffably astoundingly, Heavenly, goddess like talents, the likes of which this world from never see again! No one but no one can sing with such heartfelt, gut, wrenching emotions, like the stunningly beautiful Barbra Streisand. I absolutely adore her, and I wish I had the honor of seeing her in concert. I love & adore U, Barbra Streisand, for always, and your albums are my most treasured possessions, and some of the first records I ever bought, with my own money, as a young girl. My friends, used to make fun of me for listening to Barbara because I was a child of the 80s, so it seems so out of sync with the artists of the day, but they do not understand the magic that is The illustrious & magical, Heaven sent Barbra Streisand.🌟🎁🥰🥹💫😘🎉✨🌟💜🥰
You were so close but I can tell you as a singer piece of sky is BEYOND hard to sing. Way harder then don’t rain on my parade. Don’t rain on my parade is pretty easy if it’s in your range. It just keeps building which makes it easy to build up the breath and the placement.
Part of what makes Don't Rain a hard song, is it's pacing. Those verses are coming in hot and fast. The kind of song that can only be sung with lots of chutzpah. It's a fun song to sing if you are a trained singer and if you can match Babs' vocal acrobatics, but it's still a demanding song nonetheless.
Barbra’s voice is unmatched and unmistakable! She has golden pipes and she’s my Goddess of Song!! All Hail the Queen!!👑🔥 PS: I thought “My Man” should be on this list cuz … DAMN!!!!!!!!
Streisand's hardest songs to sing? Perhaps. But what about 'Prisoner' from the film Eyes of Laura Mars, or 'Make It Like a Memory' from her Guilty album, and the absolutely beautiful and nothing but breath control, 'If I Didn't Love You' from her album A Love Like Ours. Of course, most anything Barbra sings is difficult because no one can match her.
Make it like a Memory is a guaranteed vocal chord ripper. I regularly embarrass myself, trying to sing along in the car. 😊 Lots of my favourite female vocalists have an "obscure" end song on their albums, like Mariah's The Wind or Sheryl Crow's Ordinary Morning. They are all outstanding songs, take a huge & articulate voice to carry off, & don't get the recognition they deserve. 🎉
the greatest of ALL time, she is. and while this list is sublime, I'd say they barely scratched the most difficult. Including: Woman in the Moon, A Sleepin' Bee, He Touched Me, There Won't Be Trumpets, Not While I'm Around. What Ms Mojo did was mostly choose from her most famous songs. Mistake. Fun video, nonetheless!
I remember watching Funny Girl on TV when I was young and I thought she was so beautiful, talented and funny! I have been a fan ever since. No one can match her!
She is the absolute pinnacle of female vocals, the best of all bests. I can name a half dozen who are stunningly talented too but none match her toe to toe. She’s the rarest of all gifts and I’m thrilled I lived through her career and saw many of her performances as they occurred via media coverage. Thank God she’s set the bar as high as she has because it’s going to take a divine miracle for anybody else to reach her level of QUEEN!!!
Thank you sooo much for this video❤. Barbra is my favorite singer, and I'm singing along with her every day! So I'm very blessed that I can sing every of those song, I can even sing the 20 seconds end of "A Piece Of Sky". But in my opinion, you forgot "Somewhere" and "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?". But we all know, that every Barbra Streisand song is incredible. If Art would be a Human, it would be Barbra Streisand♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Another classic honorable mention (at least) is "So Long Dearie" from Hello Dolly. Biographically art imitated life as she was telling off co-star Walter Matthau and draconian director Gene Kelly. And revelling in her catharsis!
Not gonna lie, I'm VERY surprised that ''Papa Can You Hear Me'', ''Somewhere'' and ''Memory'' AREN'T on this list! I mean, all of these songs AT LEAST deserve to be on Honorable Mentions.
Every song from her repertoire is impossible to be sung by other singers the way she can do it - I'm talking about her acting skills of interpreting lyrics. Technically wise? Try to sing On a Clear Day... :)
I was singing "people" in our street when I was 9 - thought it was the best song ever by Streisand and still do ( but I don't sing it anymore outside of my lounge room ) 😂
i love love love her duet with herself a house is not a house/one less bell to answer as well as her duet with burt bacharach Cole to you...... and her alone ;) in c'est si bon ..... ;)
🎶I have lots of faves like anyone, but “the music that makes me dance”, & “starting here, starting now” can be difficult if you don’t have proper breath control 🎶
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 😊❤ she is one of the very best actress and singer ever
Great list! - they are hard to sing, for sure, but that applies to most of her singing - hard to compare her to anyone when it comes to technique. Still, I think woman in love, evergreen, the way we were could be replaced by any of these: clopin-clopant, a child is born, hurry it's lovely up here, my melancholy baby, fine and dandy, by the way, some enchanted evening, not while I'm around, just leave everything to me, and many others 😊
I have so many favorites it is hard to pick one. I don't know much about musicality but I know what moves me deeply and it has been Barbra since I was 5 in 1965. I wonder, how about the song that on the surface seems so simple yet so complex after listening to it for year's. It is, He Isn't You from On a Clear Day. Can you explain what she is doing that moves me to tears every time I hear it. I can listen to it all day and try to figure out what is going on technically with her singing, yet I don't know how to put it into words like you and others do. Also, another thing that makes Don't Rain on My Parade her number 1. When Funny Girl came out in 1968 the number started in a train station and ended with Barbra on the Tugboat. It was the first time in film I ever saw a number that was like the precursor to an MTV video. It was not static and took the viewer on a journey, it was mind-blowing together with her brilliant singing. I remember seeing it on a Roadshow Engagement in September of 1968( I was only 8.5 years old) and was mesmerized and the entire audience burst into applause as the number ended and went into intermission.
I think this list should be divided into Musicals/Film Musicals and other works. We all know the musical pieces are typically more difficult, given past lists. 😊
Just love Barbra, but for the record "putting it together" from "Sunday in the park with George" is sung only by George (Mandy Patinkin in the original cast recording), Barbra had Stephen Sondheim rewrite some of the lyrics for her.
As a singer myself and barbra's fan (as a male with a very natural high pitch voice I can say she was my first singing coach, I had all her recordings and use to listen learn and sing along) I agree, totally, I think they forgot the love inside is a masterpiece of vocal perfection, people don't know how hard is to sing a song at just mid volume sustaining controling your breeding supporting your voice without going pitchy and still have all the intensity the song requires...it is amazing..By the way I highly recomend to all the Lara Fabian live version of a piece of sky (papa can you hear me- a piece of sky) where she is wearing a white suit it is absolutely out of this world stunning with last long note and all just great really honors this song
I'm a classical pianist by training, but i try to sing in the shower...my two most difficult streisand songs are 1) My name is barbra (try singing it without any accompaniment )and 2) who will buy
I don't hear her riffing in any of these songs like so many so called vocalists do these days and many think it's an amazing display and proof of talent.
Love Is Only Love was literally the first song that came to mind from Hello Dolly! as well as So Long Dearie. The opening number Just Leave Everything to Me is also a difficult one considering all the vocal jumps you have to do seamlessly and flawlessly. Barbra has one of the best dynamic voices in music. You won't find many voices like Barbra in a generation. Of all the female singers in her era, she and Judy were by far the most unmatched voices. They blended so well together on their Get Happy/Happy Days live duet. Barbra truly is a spectacle of vocal prowess.
I think her song "Songbird" is extremely difficult to sing. She almost never sang it in a concert and I thought it was maybe because it was too difficult to repeat it later years. It's also difficult to sing many of her songs on her album "Simply Streisand." The notes she hits are as smooth as glass. There are too many songs of hers to choose from. Is there an actor/singer as good at both as she? The answer is no.
I would like to mention a few because you really don't hear anyone doing these songs.. First from the broadway album I have dreamed/we kiss in a shadow. The other is probably my favorite song she did. "People" I think both should be on that list. They all talk about the big 3 heart songs to sing. From these singers Celine Dion Mariah Carey Whitney Houston. But I think Barbara Streisand songs are just as hard in people. Don't cover them very often. It's just not the vocality, but all the little inflections in feeling she puts into the songs..
I can totally do the main event, the way we were, and woman in love. Certainly nowhere near the great Babs but I can hold my own. I would add New York State of Mind to this list. That is a fun one to do.
For the Record.... EVERGREEEN > Lyrics: *PAUL WILLIAMS* *Music* : BARBRA STRREISAND For a long time, when the movie came out and the song was a hit, Barbra was verbally claiming singular credit whenever she got the opportunity. She got away with it for too long, til someone set the record straight. She also pulled the same stunt with Marvin Hamlisch's music (?) for The Way We Were but he didn't let her get away with it. She changed either a note or lyric *WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION* and he took credit for it. She admitted as much in an interview on one of her sites. Hey, you don't go into someone else's home and re-arrange their furniture, so to speak.
"Places That Belong To You" from "The Prince of Tides", so often is overlooked. One of my favorite Streisand songs. So disappointing that it's on an album consisting mostly of instrumentals. "Piece of Sky" IS, the most difficult song to sing. NO ONE...and I do mean NO ONE can sing that song other than the Diva herself.

A lot
What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life? Her rendition of that song is the best I've ever heard.
Let's hear it for me from funny lady
Who the hell picked these songs and the portions of the songs to highlight??? it was way too much voice-over and not enough vocals to showcase the talent and "demonstrate' why these songs are difficult to sing. I hate when people take time to make a video like this and then do a lousy job.
It’s hard to choose, all the songs of fantastic

My favorite, is “Papa, Can you hear me” it’s so emotional.
I sang it once at Karaoke.
Babs is phenomenal!
Tomorrow Night is also a big one. It sneaks up on you.
I'd add "On a Clear Day" to this collection - the ending is joyous!
The song "My Man". I can listen to her sing this over and over. It brings me to tears every time..... and yes I try to sing along.
Barbra Streisand is a musical GENIUS!!!! A living Legend that still keeps on reminding us of her great talent!!!!😘😘😘😘
Lost Inside of You and Send in the Clowns has always been a favorite of mine. 💕 to you, Ms. Streisand. Beautiful music.
The best voice that ever was or could be.. in my humble opinion!! ♥️
Great selection. Honestly, the range of her voice matches the range of her career. Legendary.
Her end note in "Before the parade passes by" is spine tingling. She's platinum.
There is nobody -- NOBODY -- like Ms Streisand! She is the queen.
Any of the Hardest songs sung by this beautiful woman are incredible. Barbra Streisand really is a goddess just like Celine Dion.
Each song is a proof that Barbra Streisand is the best singer in the universe!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I grew up singing with Barbra's songs. She helped me learn about breath control and dramatics in my own singing. She is a true original! Never had a singing lesson.
A lot of my dynamics come from Barbra songs. No one can come close to Barbra Streisand . She is the best singer, actress, and director. And an awesome person.
Nobody can sing any song like Barbra Streisand. She is AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL ❤
“People” defines her style, vocal quality and range. It was the first song I ever heard her sing when I was 6 or 7 and has been my favorite ever since. Barbra's rendition of Pretty Women/The Ladies Who Lunch on The Broadway Album is also a very beautiful medley. She has such an incredible voice.
I love me some Barbara. Her duet with Barry Gibb on the guilty album is my absolute fav!
You were so close but I can tell you as a singer piece of sky is BEYOND hard to sing. Way harder then don’t rain on my parade. Don’t rain on my parade is pretty easy if it’s in your range. It just keeps building which makes it easy to build up the breath and the placement.
Let's not forget that incredibly long last note
I agree.

It's a fun song to sing if you are a trained singer and if you can match Babs' vocal acrobatics, but it's still a demanding song nonetheless.
That last note lasted longer than my first marriage.
1000%😊
Speak Low, just sends chills down my spine and The Women in the Moon from a Star is Born. The angry edge to her voice!
Barbra’s voice is unmatched and unmistakable! She has golden pipes and she’s my Goddess of Song!! All Hail the Queen!!👑🔥
PS: I thought “My Man” should be on this list cuz … DAMN!!!!!!!!
Agree
I’m surprised her version of “Since I Fell For You” wasn’t on this list. She absolutely killed that song. 🥹
That pink dress she wore in Central Park Concert was phenomenal. The design flow, the way it fit her body and the way she moved in it. Perfection..
Streisand's hardest songs to sing? Perhaps. I've always been amazed at the vocal stunt Barbra performs at the end word "parade" on the Funny Girl cast album.
"One more bell to answer/A house is not a home" by Burt Bacharach is one of my favorite songs by the extraordinary Streisand ❤🎉..!!
Great list! I would add “Prisoner” from the “Eyes of Laura Mars” soundtrack (1978) and “Promises” also a Gibb brothers’ song from the Guilty album
She is the absolute pinnacle of female vocals, the best of all bests. I can name a half dozen who are stunningly talented too but none match her toe to toe. She’s the rarest of all gifts and I’m thrilled I lived through her career and saw many of her performances as they occurred via media coverage. I love these Barbra Streisand songs!
A genious. A vocal goddes. One of my all time favourites will always be Memory, from the Cats musical.
"People" is one of the most difficult songs to sing. Especially the opening phrase!
Papa can you hear me was the one song that helped me come out. Her rendition at a private concert given in the mid eighties was really insuperable.
"I'm a comer..." Indeed you are madame. That's what I most love about Streisand. Her absolute resolve in the pursuit of art.
You missed one of her biggest ones from Billie Holiday
Oh my man i love him so!

"Woman In Love" was one of my first 45s--I was a rather melodramatic 5 year old :)
I think My Heart Belongs to Me and the song My Man from Funny Girl is good. The whole Funny Girl album is good! Streisand/Superman album is good too!
Make Our Garden Grow. Fabulous. Outstanding
Not gonna lie, I'm VERY surprised that ''Papa Can You Hear Me'', ''Somewhere'' and ''Memory'' AREN'T on this list!
I mean, all of these songs AT LEAST deserve to be on Honorable Mentions.
Should've been a top 20 rather than 10. Barbra's catalogue is just too big to only do 10.
@@breanainn28
EXACTLY!
This definitely should've been a Top 20 List!
Somewhere for sure
"The Way We Were" starts with "Memories light the corners of my mind", and it was included.
@@selysia
Wait... What?
I'm talking about 'Memory' from ''CATS!''.
Lazy Afternoon, Jubilation, Love With All The Trimmings, He Isn't You and Where Is It Written are works of art.
All of her songs from On A Clear Day! Love belting those out along with her.
Every song from her repertoire is impossible to be sung by other singers the way she can do it - I'm talking about her acting skills of interpreting lyrics. Technically wise? Try to sing On a Clear Day... :)
Love every song, but Starting Here, Starting Now is fabulous!
I can sing them all... In my mind! 😂 I love Barbra!
Exactly, In my mind and in the shower I’m just as good as her 🤣
@@106andie even better in some moments rsrs
Might be a bit obscure, but she did Jim Steinman's "Left in the Dark" - takes chops to do that 😜
Gotta move , He Touched Me, and one of my favorites Prisoner .
The songs might be hard. But the real impossible task is to sing better than Barbra. That is not possible period
Exactly - NO ONE sings like her 🙏
Exactly
I was singing "people" in our street when I was 9 - thought it was the best song ever by Streisand and still do ( but I don't sing it anymore outside of my lounge room ) 😂
i love love love her duet with herself a house is not a house/one less bell to answer as well as her duet with burt bacharach Cole to you...... and her alone ;) in c'est si bon ..... ;)
Yes, superb and the epitome of class and perfected talent. Skin-tinglingly good.
🎶I have lots of faves like anyone, but “the music that makes me dance”, & “starting here, starting now” can be difficult if you don’t have proper breath control 🎶
I love Barbra Streisand. She is a part of my life. I have been a decades-long fan! Can we add "People"?
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 😊❤ she is one of the very best actress and singer ever
Great list! - they are hard to sing, for sure, but that applies to most of her singing - hard to compare her to anyone when it comes to technique. The final note from A Piece of Sky is actually even longer... like 30 seconds or something
Love her so much!!!!
I have so many favorites it is hard to pick one. I don't know much about musicality but I know what moves me deeply and it has been Barbra since I was 5 in 1965. I would add "I´ve never been a woman before" and "On holy ground".
Before Barbra, no one sang like her. No one has since, and no one ever will.
Simply amazing ❤
I think this list should be divided into Musicals/Film Musicals and other works. We all know the musical pieces are typically more difficult, given past lists. 😊
Exquisite curation!
Even the honorable mentions are on point!
I just wish I saw Jingle Bells? on this list.....
I don’t think I’ve ever clicked on a video so fast in my life lol.
I could listen to her sing the phone book!
Piece of Sky Should be # 1.
You missed " my man " and " since I fell for you"
Funny girl man she has a beautiful voice
Make it like a memory!!!
In my high school drama class each student had to sing a song from a musical. What was I thinking when I chose "Don't Rain on my Parade"!!??
Just love Barbra, but for the record "putting it together" from "Sunday in the park with George" is sung only by George (Mandy Patinkin in the original cast recording), Barbra had Stephen Sondheim rewrite some of the lyrics for her.
I miss My Man, He Touched Me, Somewhere and On a Clear Day. That woman needs at least a top 50.
There's no one like Babs
She is butter.

I love Hello Dolly and Superman!
To call Streisand a singer is like calling Picasso and Renoir painters. She's a master of song.
Beautiful voice cute personality- Made for the stage 3:14
I'm a classical pianist by training, but i try to sing in the shower...my two most difficult streisand songs are 1) My name is barbra (try singing it without any accompaniment )and 2) who will buy
I can sing Don’t Rain on My Parade. It’s a tough song but if you keep loose and breathe well, it can happen.
The WET album is to my humble opinion one of the best Barbra has ever done and the song AFTER THE RAIN is incredibly difficult to sing...
Why is "Woman in Love" showing "A Star is Born" as a background?
I think it was the video that went with the song; there are clips from other films as well.
I don't hear her riffing in any of these songs like so many so called vocalists do these days and many think it's an amazing display and proof of talent.
her renditions of Jingle Bells? should be here
there are so many nearly impossible songs to sing in hello dolly I can't believe you missed all of them.... 😢

Living Legend and a Cultural Symbol with Whitney Houston, Celine, Aretha Franklin & Mariah will always be the greatest female vocalists of all time ❤
"A Sleepin' Bee." From her early career.
