South Slavs have a "sharper" sounding speech. Letter for a sound, not much of tones in between like Ukrainian, Belorussian or Russian who are Eastern Slavs.

Japanese is relatively easy to pronounce. Reading and writing is more difficult. Drinking is easy. Counting beers can be difficult. 3 beers in bottles is sambon. 3 glasses of beer are sambai. I remember a long discussion of this in a bar. Of course this is the “Chinese “ version of counting. After the discussion, they ordered beer using the less formal Japanese numbers which don’t have those counters. “Biru mitsu, kudasai. “. I think I was set up.
My most memorable Japanese hangover was from a restaurant that served only anchovies as the entree, with of course cooked rice and fermented rice (sake) as accompaniment.
