Love it! I'm running the Max10 sct/3660 SL 4000kV on a custom built rustler 4x4 and love it! Except the tires can balloon up like crazy... I need to fix that! Thanks for the video! It's helped inspire me to dust off my gear.
I tried the Velineon and HW 3660 in my 2wd Stampede and they were both pretty good motors, just get hot way too easy for me in the summer time. The SCT verson of the Max10 can handle 4s really well. Paired mine with a 2400kv Spektrum 3665 motor (same motor the Arrma 4s lineup uses). Now I run it on 4s only and the temps have been zero issue, runs like a dream.
Is better to remove the chassis cover for the heat to escape when gearing high. And i just got my hobbywing brushless combo yesterday for my slash 2wd vxl.
What pinion do you reccomend I'm using the 60amp sct max 10 4000kv motor ( The bundle) with a 3S lipo . All on a abisma ab3 4wd , what do you reccon the top speed is mph . Thankyou.
Thats a good question. Its an age old thing between torque over speed. The 3300kv motor will have a bit more torque therefore creating better acceleration, where as the vxl will produce a bit more top speed, but you have the option of gearing. I have tried running a hobbywing motor combined with the vxl esc and the electronics only put out about 50% power. I'm not really sure what happened to the esc when I did this, so I put the vxl motor back on with the vxl esc and it was still only 50% power. I checked the battery, calibration and made sure it was out of training mode and everything was OK. It only happened when I mixed the two, so I wouldn't recommend mixing them, I would probably use a hobbywing esc with your hobbywing motor.
🤔 certainly is interesting to whether or not the system will cope with 4s and to see if the car achieves more speed or not. Just need a set wheels and tyres and we will find out. 😊 👍
4000kv on 4s will be pushing @ 67,000 RPM's at full charge. On 3s it's already running over 50,000rpm. Isn't that a 50k motor? Pushing it past that consistently wouldn't be advised if you want the motor to last. It's not necessarily the windings in the motor that can't handle it, it's the rotor and bearings that can't. Toast the bearings and the rotor spins out of wack and destroys the motor. Just a friendly warning.
Yeah that sounds awesome. What sort of speeds do you get with that set up? I'm struggling to hold the power down on the 4s 20/54 gearing. I don't have enough space where I run mine either and all the main roads where I live are too busy. Wish I had a better speed run location locally and I would be doing a bit more and trying different systems
@@andrejoseph239aj 6S Zeeee pack fits LCG chassis but you need to use Velcro straps to tie it down. Motor reached 210° F after I geared to 20/36. Car unfortunately went off the road at 90+ and no longer exists. GPS trapped above 90 often never broke 98 because the damn thing goes nose up. Had more beans to go too.

Thanks man 💯 😎 Appreciate your kind comment. I love my rustler too, it's definitely my fav rc

I running a little 1/16 scale legendary sonic on a zee 3 s 2200 mah 50 c lipo 54 + ( mph) search for legendary sonic beast
I just got one of these for my “1:8” (it’s more of a very big 1/16) zd racing pirate, just waiting for my cnhl batteries to show up

The max10 ect with the 3200kv motor is 140 while the 3s vxl system is 200 dollars.
nice choice of music beat
Am throwing one of these in mine as my vxl esc caught fire, had to steal the connector from the old one as parents want to stick to traxxas batteries
not sure if I should get this one or the 4600kv
Are you using turbo or do you have it disabled?
Cool vid! Your description reads 3360...
Aaaa thanks man... 😊 I've just amended it. Its 3652-SL now 😃 thanks for your kind comment 👍
@@watersidebashers.9792 I'm confused. The inscription on the motor's packaging as well as on the motor itself clearly says 3660 and NOT 3652?!?!

Good upgrade mate ... nice vid 👌🏻
Thanks buddy 👍 looking forward to running it again. Looking at new wheels and tyres, poss go for the proline 2.8's and give it a try on 4s.
@@watersidebashers.9792 nice man
I went for louise mt pioneers for my rustler and they work a treat .
. I have an upload of it running on them
@@kaosr.c that will be great. Ill check them out
cool videos friend! nice! subscribed😎
Thats awesome 👌 thanks for watching 😎👍
Does it heat up as much as the stock system?
what fan are you using on the motor?
It's a power hobby, it comes as a combo for the vxl with esc fan aswell
I have 3300kv hobbywing motor. Would that provide more acceleration than the velion motor

Any issues with heat from the motor or esc when running 3s for extended periods? Great video btw 👌
Thank you. I haven't had any over heating issues at all on 3s. It copes with it very well 👍
Sct esc is 120 amp and the max10 esc is 60 amp
Yes that's correct 👍
One thing I was reading on item description is that the ESC is 4s capable but the motor is only 3s capable.
I'm interested to see 4s on the motor. 🤔
🤔 certainly is interesting to whether or not the system will cope with 4s and to see if the car achieves more speed or not.

Esc’s have issues with more voltage much more than motors do. The motor handles 4s no prob but does get hot in my Tekno sct410.3
Monitor your motor temps and you'll be fine running 4s

When you have a compare a 4000kv to a 3500kv the 4000 going a little faster. You need to compare apples to apples not apples to orange.
Yes that's very true 👍 😄 thanks foe your advise
This motor will not be able to handle the 4s. Its maximum limit is 3s only
I run a 2050kv on 6s with a Firma 150. 25:54 gearing Fits a 6s single pack. All these 3s and 4s setups are 🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱

Does it fit right in and does it get hot
