I really appreciate you let players play their revived guitars at the end of the videos. It's always exactly the style players that would do that to their guitars and they play the coolest stuff! I guess most is own material? This guy was really something special man! Love your videos.

Personally, I'd repair the head stock and neck issues and do all the functional setup work but I wouldn't change a thing about the body finish condition it came with.
For polishing tuner grommets, I found a bolt and nut to hold them so I could spin it in a cordless drill while polishing to get a very slick even finish. Super good restoration!
I technically still have one of these reissues from the 90s. Great guitars but hard to find now. I made the mistake of smashing mine on stage back in the day. The odd thing is, even for a double cut jr, is the fretboard of mine didn't go into the body at all, so the pickguard is just covering a slab of wood known as the neck. That's the only difference between this one and mine lol
Man I'm really liking your videos. I'm learning a lot from them. I am about to restore a Epiphone SG Junior an I will be using some of your techniques in the process. Keep the great content coming.
It's always great to see how Japanese people did everything with their soul. It's just awesome. Btw, can you also make upgrading videos of those guitars? I feels like it will be great if that yellow Epi upgraded with P90 pick up. Thanks
Nice job on that LP Junior. Plywood body, P-90 and no frills. Great rock guitar. Nice wide neck. I liked that you kept the dings in the guitar. I would've foil taped the control cavity because those Epi P-90's can get a bit noisy when using a ton of distortion but otherwise, you brought a classic back to life. Well done!
Do you think they used "tone plywood" or "normal plywood"? Most people don't know that the only difference between the two is that the former uses "tone glue" to hold the layers together.
As someone who is a huge punk rock fan I am one of those people, the reason is just the history, someone played the shit out of that and personalized it so it feels a little sad to take all that away. It's better if some kid played it and covered it in stickers and spray paint then to lean it in a corner and never play it again ya know
I had the husk from one of these that sat outside as part of a music stores sign for a couple of years. Paid $20 for it. Beside the fretboard being washed out from sun damage there was no issues as far as the neck/frets/action, it was a great guitar
Nice job. I like your approach to this repair, well thought out and done. Removing stickers can be tricky, depending on how long they've been left on. You came out with a very kool axe. Later
We’ve all been there before, putting stickers on our favorite guitar or instrument, I remember having like over a few dozen stickers on my ukulele then having to resell it because it became too small when I got older and having to do the same thing you did :)
It wasn't really a "junk" guitar. You just removed the stickers and restored the finish by polishing. Nice job though. It looked nice when you were done.
@@gojoluvr28 just having stickers all over it doesn't make it a "junk" guitar. Neither does it being an Epiphone. Epiphones are actually decent guitars for the most part. It's not as if the guitar had been trashed and the finish destroyed.
Lovely work!! Great video. Lighter fluid removes stickers AND the glue in seconds - old, old school graphic designer hack. Sounded great (maybe a tiny bit out of tune 🥴 sorry!)
Don't see it as a restore. As you used better or should I say proper parts. it never could have sounded this good when new. agree with another about you not lining control cavity. Looks good but you replaced the nut and the bridge and left the stock pots! Also you put the truss Rod cover on before strings so you’d have to take it back off to set it up!
The things people do (or don't do) to their guitars is obscene. Thanks for rescuing these instruments.

the condition of the frets and board appear the the owner spent more time applying decals than playing. Very nice job.
Getting them stickers off without destroying the finish is an amazing feat in itself.
loved that guitar even before the restoration, it looks amazing

Some of those stickers were incredibly rare, and about 30-40 years old, from the first Japanese punk era.

It sounds like that guitar was overdue for some tender loving care and it looks amazing well done you did a great job
カッチョいい!
低く構えて、握り込んでかき鳴らすロックのギターだね!
It's a pretty guitar without anything on it, but the energy it had with the stickers was sick as fuck.
Yep. Now it's just another Epiphone.

Yeah, if it was a real Junior sure (although those stickers would be hell on the nitro), but a hundred dollar Epi? Nah, let it party!

I like the way you remove those end piece pegs embedded in the body
Love that shade of yellow.

This is how Chris Squire's bass got its special sound. It had stickers sanded off ... twice. Probably the lightest 4001 in the world.

I actually got to play one at our local used shop, it felt and sounded soo good

those stickers are awesome
id play that live as a main guit with them on

Great job. City of caterpillar and an off minor shirt too? Nice.
Love that guitar, excellent work, good luck
Brilliant! restorations are far superior to clean ups.
you strung the bridge in such a way that the action is unnecessarily raised
Dog-ear single P-90 guitars are awesome.
When you pulled out the telecaster control plate to help remove the bridge studs you actaully blew my mind LOL
Came for the restoration. Stayed for the random Engine Down riff
