As a retired tradesman/ teacher I love seeing people in the trades who are smart, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about doing a really good job. Good work!

Thank you very much for the message! Truly appreciate the kind words. I love what I do, and just want people who are looking to learn about windows or are looking to purchase and have questions.

Eco-Flex is fantastic for finish caulking, interior or exterior. So is OSI Quad Max. Both are a breeze to tool, and they wipe off your hands easily (except the black and bronze shades, which stain your skin). As far as the subsill, I prefer OSI HM270 or another high-grade silicone. Granted, my door installs are retrofit 95% of the time, so every now and then I have to chisel-up you guys' Liquid Nails. D'oh!

The construction glue we use for the subsill of doors has never let us down, and once dry....goodnight! lol

Confusing. Which is recommended? Max shield all weather or Eco-flex 9500?

Thank you for this informative video. My installer has installed replacement windows retrofit style on stucco home. They are coming back to install the largest windows. Iam noticing on the windows already replaced on the stucco that the exterior caulk connecting vinyl flush fin to stucco wall is not a sharp neat looking caulk line. I asked installer who told me I could have someone paint the caulk after it cures so that it blends in with the stucco color. They don’t do that is what he said. Sean, I thought all installations include a sharp caulk line finished look on exterior.

Hi Elizabeth, if the installers did not use painters tape on the exterior after the installation, to set the "beauty bead" which is frame to stucco, then you will not have a sharp looking bead. Some installers may not perform this extra step, which is disheartening to me, but should stated as an "expectation" of the customer early on. As long as the caulking is paintable, then yes, a painter could touch that up to make it look better.

I'm not convinced that the difference between claimed 800 and 900% stretching ability is noticeable at all.

They should be. They're available on most online outlets as well. 🙂
If you do use the loctite construction adhesive with the tan and blue label, try to get the one labeled LN-901 as it is solvent/polyurethane based and dries Much tougher. LN-903 is water based and I don't have much experience with it. (People tend to say that they hate that formulation though.)
LN-901 uses a bit of polyurethane to achieve its bonding strength and it uses additives/solids which help it set up Very rigid. (It is great for projects that you don't ever have to move again lol.)
It makes for a low cost adhesive, just keep in mind that it can take weeks to fully dry so plan ahead.
For most anything else requiring a quick drying time, I would just use a general polyurethane adhesive such as Loctite's PL 3x. (There's no real need to spend the big bucks on the 8x unless you need VERY fast drying times.) ☺️
