    Aww, don't bash him. He's cute :D I suppose English is his native language and Croatian is his other one - the pronounciation was incorrect (or awkward more likely) for many of the words, but still quite good for a non-native speaker.

    I'm Croatian and there are all types of people 'looks'. Also there are several theories of Croat Origins most of which are not Slavic. So a 'Slavic Look' is irrelevant. Just because one speaks a certain language family doesn't not mean they of that Slavic-'ethnic' group. Do a little research. He's having fun and is humorous, give him a break.

      That wasn't at all some ignorant racist bullshit that you've convinced yourself of to make you feel better :) you're a really cool and likeable person! News flash jack ass I speak fluent spanish because I've had a great education system through out my life. At least this kid is making an effort and trying to learn a language other than his own, which is why I'm here too! There is no practical reason why I would ever need to speak it because unlike in Europe the US doesn't have many bordering countries and there is no need to communicate with foreigners on a regular basis. That is the only reason that many Europeans learn to speak in a number of tongues. Also English is one of the hardest languages to learn, so before you insult our education system, take a look at yours because you've gotten absolutely zero facts correct.

    • @Smalec77
      @Smalec77 10 лет назад

      ...you took word "knyga" from Slavic Culture...as well as word "renka" (hand) in lithuanian...which is "ręka" in Polish...(pronounced nearly the same) "ruka" in all the rest of Slavic languages...

    • @RaisonDetre96
      @RaisonDetre96 10 лет назад +1

      I like how you assume that I must be Lithuanian. Plus, pretend as if it was in my power or the power of any person from today how a language was formed historically. There are bound to be similarities due to the fact that Baltic and Slavic are sister language families. By the way, it is spelled "ranka" in Lithuanian.

    My family is from Croatia but I was brought up in America. From a young age I was enrolled in the American education system whilst learning the Croatian language and customs at home. I think it's fairly ignorant to subject strangers to criticism solely based on where they are from. It's much wiser to take pride in your homeland and respect that others will do the same.

    Dalekovidnica = television, hladnjak = fridge, autombil = car, svjetiljka = lamp...
    Greeting "Bok" and "Bog" are not same; "Bok" comes from northern Croatia and it is a corruption of German (Austro-Hungarian Empire) "Mein Buecken" which would mean "My bows"; and "Bog" means "God" shortening for either a greeting "Bog s tobom" (God with you) or as a goodbye "Zbogom" (S Bogom - With God).
    "Kaj fakat" is a northern dialect, "kaj" means "what" in kajkavian (one of three dominant Croatian dialects, others being čakavian and štokavian) and "fakat" means "fact" or sometimes "real"; in any case most Croats (aside from capital city of Zagreb and surroundings) would not use this expression. Especially on the coast (Adriatic sea), where čakavian dialect is dominant.
    PS: Person from Croatia is a CROAT, while language is Croatian.

Australia, maaaaybe USA, but I'm sticking with Australia. And your family is from north of Croatia I think, or central Croatia, but tilting thoward the north. Deffinetley not a Serb, but deffinetley diaspora.

    Croatian is harder than German. For example Croatian language has 7 cases, while German has 4.

  • @vjencislavbarac
    @vjencislavbarac 8 лет назад

    My native language is Croatian, but since I am fluent in German I would say that Croatian has more grammatical rules then German but if you want to just speak language it is much easier to speak Croatian, because it is creative and emotional. For example with SAME words you can say same meaning of sentences but different emotional meaning.
    Tonight I'm going to play football with friends.
    Večeras idem igrati nogomet s prijateljima. (most usual and correct form in written Croatian)
    It is a emotionally neutral sentence, but let's express this sentence with different position of words.
    Večeras s prijateljima idem igrati nogomet (ohhh I have a plan,I can not do anything else.I am too excited)
    S prijateljima idem igrati nogomet večeras. (I have idea. I know with whom I'm going to play football, :D)
    S prijateljima večeras idem igrati nogomet. (I have idea. I know with whom I'm going to play football and when, now I have a plan :D)
    Idem igrati nogomet s prijateljima večeras. (I am not too excited, if you give me good reason I will switch term.)
    So this is beauty of Croatian, maybe this is the reason why we are very social and why is normal to be in cafe with friends every day. Your accent is different but we love strangers who want to learn Croatian, so in Croatia (at least Zagreb) no one will look at you strange instead one will help you and support you.
    btw. "televizija" is name for cluster of television programs, and "televizor" is device. If you are watching "televizija" you are normal, but if you are watching "televizor" something is wrong with you :D

    The worst is when a person who does not know, believes that he can teach others. Your pronunciation is very wrong. You do not even understand which noun is of what gender. You do not know cases (7 padeža). You are not aware that you said many Serbian words. You are young and ignorant, so it's understandable but you should come down from your cloud if you want to became a real man and if you want to call yourself Croatian. Teaching Croatian is not your thing. I do not believe that you will ever learn Croatian pronunciation and grammar. Good luck...

    Dont get your hopes up... Croatians have exsisted long before Serbs,it was established in the recent scientific research by comparing chromosone's Y and X and that Croats have haplotype Eu7 while Serbs have haplotype 10; which means Croatians ARE few century's older and that Serbs where "developed" through Croats. Thank you and good bye!
