Saw a technical review and comparison of air filters. K&N was .1 sec faster 0-60 than Wix and Purolator, but it also let far more particles pass through. So, a very slight performance gain, but at the expense of engine life.
@@whubes Perhaps so, but the other filters do the same, and will have let far less destructive particles get into the engine. You think the car makers don't know they could easily get a bit better performance by providing more porous filters? They find the balance of best performance and best engine life. We can choose a different balance but it's best to know the consequences.
Bro, you can get better runs if you turn off traction control. Installed a k&n 33-5040 too on my nd miata. Tho, it does make your car faster for a tiny bit. Nothing significant. But you get more long term benefits -you get to save money in the long run every 10k to 20k km when you have to change the filter -because its washable its environment friendly -theoretically better airflow to your engine Thanks for the video.
There is also a downside, which explains why there is a power increase (due to air flow increase), and it's that it filters less, or in other words it allows more particles to pass the filter and enter the engine, which waters the engine fast r and decreases long term life of the engine, increasing inside wear and this decreasing power once wear increases with time. This is why I don't use these filters. See a better explanation on Engineering Explained the RUclips channel.
Bro I had the same feeling the first time I drove with the K&N just today, it feels faster for sure, revs were noticeable hanging for longer and the power from 1>2 felt way more insane
@@JohnBouldingfor engine longevity, I also am a fan of oem filters. When I was young, used pipercross, kn filters. The gains were very little, the intake noise was better for sure, but at the expense of constant maf sensor screwing up with dirt. God knows what those engines suffered.

That is true but also the K&N filter does a better job at filtering particles the more you use it

Not necessarily. ruclips.net/video/0iX9PIW4nqI/видео.html

Thanks for the video.
It actually was off in every run, and thank you for the input🤝

I changed out my door bushings from stock to aftermarket that were electric green color. It made my ND much faster

Right on
Fair video actually you consume a bit less they last forever and the engine is more responsive,I use them for years….
Yessir that’s what I’m saying, it’s not even more expensive in the long run so might as well use it
With engines with 2 intakes like the G37, helps a lot more, I hear average of 7hp and peak 14hp increase.
Yuh, it’s harder to make extra power with smaller engines but I did also hear they can add some decent numbers on the VQs
Solid video … thanks!
It’s always the first mod I do 2 my cars
.01 is miniscule and you injected about 10 times the number of particles than your OEM filter.
oh well lol
@@whubes switch back to OEM and you'll save your engine..that's a really expensive oh well

Bro
Thanks for your review and information !
Of course man, don’t forget to subscribe if you like the content
Don't put in any air filter & do the runs. That will tell you how much no restrictions will give you.
why would I do that to my car tho lmao
I wish it was manual
is it 1.5 or 2.0
Where u get the clear wind shield?
came stock with the car, I take it off whenever the weather is very nice
get a manual car! 5.8 seconds all day
Funny kids , ppl are delusional these filters don’t do anything, 1 hp is not felt at all and you pay triple for it , not worth it
long term it's actually even cheaper than paying 20$ for a filter every 10k miles
