Man, COTC is the exact kind of show I really wish was around when I was growing up, cause it is so beautiful, diverse, and empowering - this special being the very epitome of that.
Not the story huh, just “look! Surface things” are you the “modern audience” I heard so much about? The ones that are currently destroying the entire creative drive in the entertainment for surface things.
If you loved this, wait until you see Craig Before the Creek. It explains the lore of the map. It's awesome. I honestly loved a lot of the CN shows growing up and although I was a kid in college in the 2000s I was still into watching all the premier movies and 'events' at that time. It was just a simpler time, honestly.
Ah yes, I remember most of the big kid tv events and our pure engagement as viewers. It's not made frequently but it shouldn't be relegated as a lost art.
I say so because I remember when this was coming on and I was excited, I was waiting for the new episode and I watched it the day. It came out acting out to change the following love when I’m looking at big TV cartoon about like this were amazing to me.
I remember Good Will Hunting as a kid. I can remember watching nearly every big movie events or new series premieres Cartoon Network had. Times were different back then.
1:00 aw~ memories~ i remember that Thanksgiving with "Good Wilt Hunting" came on. If i wasn't helping prepare for the food or a random choir, i was glued to that TV cause i loved Eilt and wanted to see the hype around that special.
I'm a simple guy. I see Craig of the Creek content and I click. Way too few people talk about the show and its honestly one of the best thing CN has done in a LONG time. The Capture the Flag arc in particular is pure perfection. You got a new subscriber with this one!
I really miss cable tv being a big thing, I feel like maybe it will come back some day because of fatigue from streaming services but I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Stuff like TWD and CN stuff just can’t happen in the same way as they used to, the closest we get to that now is stranger things and Nintendo directs
I really feel bad for the late 2010s to early 2020 CN. Once the giants like Gumball, Steven Universe, Regular Show, and Adventure Time ended, a lot of people who grew up with them just stopped watching CN as if the golden age is over. Even worse when HBO Max began to take a lot of CN original shows as streaming exclusives especially with Infinity Train and we all know what happened to those exclusive shows. Any shows that has potential either moved somewhere else or poor scheduling pushed away potential watchers. I actually had been watching a lot of their newer shows that were removed by Max, and they all still slap and even retain the same spirit as the older CN shows. Especially with Craig of the Creek that brings back a lot of nostalgic memories despite being a show about alpha kids. At least Craig was able to get plenty of recognition and will definitely get some internet relevance sometime in the future.
You have no idea how much I appreciate the format of this show. It feels like I’m watching a CN classic. From the bumpers to the intro and soundtrack, all the love and effort put into your videos is intoxicating. Keep up the amazing work!
Annnnnnd subbed. You’re the second person I’ve heard in the animation community that understands what filler is as a concept. As such, you have my undying respect, a new subscriber and the slightly used sticky thing I found under the couch. Seriously though, thank you for that brief but EXTREMELY important psa on why original shows can’t have filler and that most people probably don’t understand what the word means. It genuinely means a lot to me as I’ve had this conversation for probably 10 years online now lol
I remember Operation Z.E.R.O and Good Wilt Hunting so VIVIDLY. Man these events had my little brother and I all kinds of wrapped up in them. Craig feels so special even more so to me even as an adult, with having a special with tremendous payoff, but just the mass amount of characters that feel so real. I can gather so many characters from COTC that are just me as a kid running through the woods with my friends. Wildernessa is my girl god I love her.
Craig Of The Creek is such a great, fun show. I really hope we get more shows like this in the future 🙏 And that those shows don't get cancelled or cut seasons 😥 And that the people working on the projects get treated right 😤
I was a big fan from this show but when we left cable and went streaming I had no choice but to wait until the Cartoon Network app would be able to let me watch it. And boy man how it was an event I am so greatful I was able to watch.
Yes I am the 25 year old kid that watched cotc week to week from the beginning. Watching this special literally made me feel like a kid again. Getting the Winter Break arc and the heart of the forest arc after this cemented this shows place in my heart as one of the greats
This was an amazing video and I've been waiting for such a long time for someone to talk about Craig and his friends! Thank you for feeling the heart of the story like I did.
Love that craig of the creek is getting its recognition and just want to add s5 picked up the same quality from ctf the episodes the animation the writing was all great and even the ending movie was beutifil the only thing i fear is that the sequal jessicas world has a similar level of quality
I completely understand what you mean about times changing. For me personally I kind of miss the era of vhs because on certain ones, we got special episodes of shows weather they were related to movies or not. I just feel the right combinations make the experience a lot more special. Heck Cats Don’t Dance’s VHS was one of my first exposures to Cartoon Network itself! And as much as binge watching can be useful for some things, old school tv schedules really did have the right idea of pacing it’s premieres and reruns. Toonami imo has always been the best at presentation when it comes to it’s programming. Tom and Sara are always fun hosts to have around and have occasional world building of their own.
One could argue that Netflix has changed entertainment for the worse, and mega-events like this are a prime example. Think about any series finale pre-streaming, "M*A*S*H", "Friends", even "Breaking Bad"; these were fucking *EVENTS* that everyone was talking about for weeks! But now, in an era where everybody's watching different apps with different lineups at all hours, no one can agree on what to watch, and the age of watercooler talk has faded into memory... Also, once again: fuck David Zaslav.
I might check out Craig of the Creek fully one day, since I only get to watch some episodes on TV when airing Thought the show was kinda boring in my liking, but I heard it got better by Season 2 with more creative plots and build-up for the Capture the Flag special Curious to see if the show was actually really good and I didn't catch on the first time I watch but hey, better late than never I miss massive events as well, considering I really like to be hyped to watch the specials or mini-series, especially Adventure Time and Regular Show
I don’t want to bring any negativity here, but I need to say it: Cartoon Network is cannibalizing themselves! I know they've merged with WB animation, but like how long has it been since they've had a new show? They got like four and are so discriminatory that they put what was ostensibly children's shows onto adult swim because they refuse to allow anything for older kids and preteens anymore. I know this sounds like the 30 year old complaining about kids shows not being the same as they were back in his day but it's not. This is, "I literally don't know what they’re doing, because all logic would tell you this is bad for business!"
BTW, the movie ruled, too. I admit I mostly watch Craig Of The Creek in a very casual way and frankly we should be happy that this series is able to last as long as it did, since the show is gonna end later this year.
Man, COTC is the exact kind of show I really wish was around when I was growing up, cause it is so beautiful, diverse, and empowering - this special being the very epitome of that.
Agreed on all counts.
Not the story huh, just “look! Surface things” are you the “modern audience” I heard so much about?
The ones that are currently destroying the entire creative drive in the entertainment for surface things.
What's diverse about it?
Everybody Gangsta Til DeAngelo uploads two videos in one week
Back on the grind

Thanks! Love me some Craiggy boy
Craig might be the last great serialized CN show ever, which is sad but also a great way to go
Took ya long enough to talk about COTC, one of the best CN shows of the 2010’s, no contest!! Great vid dude!!
Thanks! Its quickly became a new favorite
This game is the Ed, Edd, n Eddy generation meets D&D.
Back again with another classic DeAngelo 🎉🎉 I need watch more COTC honestly been lacking
Its really good!
@@HatsOffMedias It really is I’m on season three I’ve been loving it so far tho
It was this arc that cemented this show being a spiritual successor to Codename: Kids Next Door for me.
With how things are going, it’s going a be a long time before we get an event as epic as this .

I'm so glad kids are growing up with Craig of the Creek, man. This show is an absolute delight.
Capture the Flag is definitely Craig's biggest event. Two seasons of worldbuilding and characters paid off. Plus major status quo changes.
Craig Of The Creek is such a great, fun show. I really hope we get more shows like this in the future 🙏 And that those shows don't get cancelled or cut seasons 😥 And that the people working on the projects get treated right 😤
This is my fave CN show right now, is so wholesome and funny.
thank you for bringing Craig of the Creek into the limelight. Its a very important show to me, and i want more people to witness it.
I was a big fan from this show but when we left cable and went streaming I had no choice but to wait until the Cartoon Network app would be able to let me watch it. And boy man how it was an event I am so greatful I was able to watch.
This show was like the SHOW during a time other great shows ended
Craig of the creek is the best episodic show I'd seen come out of cartoon network in a long time
Video so good, had to watch it twice lol
Glad you liked!

Some COTC love don't see that often
This show was SO GOOD def needs to be watched in order!

You already had me sold on this, but Deltron?!? His first guest appearance was my favorite episode so I gotta check this out now
Glad COTC is getting the recognition it deserves, such an underrated show ngl

And man that filler comment really grinds my gears like why cant we just enjoy getting to know our characters?
Woo! Flipping awesome video man! Really enjoy your content always top tier my dude!
Gosh man how this show is insane!!!!!!!!!
Hope you'll have a good day
The other side of the creek episodes we're so fun and nice to see.
Craig is wonderful. Thank you for the vid!
Bro I swear Kat is gonna make everyone watch screentime (and I ain't complaining)
Mannnn your videos never miss. Keep up the damn good work!
Great video dude, been meaning to check this one out but now im totally sold
Guess I gotta watch Craig of the Creak now.
Nice one DeAngelo 👍
oh this is the show that made a couple chrono trigger references
Yep!
Craig of the Creek references go hard.

Think you will ever talk about CN’s Powerhouse era or do separate vids of some of the events from the era?
Great video DeAngelo 👍
Yeah im going to admit im surpise creig of the creek have 2 story arc epically when like the concept of the show feel so small
This video got me to check out the series
You may have convinced me to watch this children's show, it looks pretty awesome.
Also deltron showing up to save Craig's butt went HAAARRDDD
BTW, the movie ruled, too. I admit I mostly watch Craig Of The Creek in a very casual way and frankly we should be happy that this series is able to last as long as it did, since the show is gonna end later this year.
What a ride.
Best Floor Is Lava Imagining Craig Of The Creek or Community ?
