      Cartoon Network Latin America always had more than one signal, currently I think there are three or five signals.
      If I'm not mistaken at that time there were two signals, a signal from the United States for northern Latin America and another signal from Argentina for southern Latin America.
      Why did I mention the signals of Cartoon Network Latin America?
      Since you are from Mexico, we can say that the signal from the north transmitted Powerpuff Girls Z, and since I am from Argentina, we can say that the signal from the south also transmitted Powerpuff Girls Z.
      In conclusion, in Latin America Powerpuff Girls Z was broadcast.

    I liked PPG Z when I was a kid (luckly it aired in Brazil at the time), but I couldn't handle how Blossom was the only one who compleatly changed her personality in this version. It was very frustraiting to see her getting red notes on tests at school while the original one could even speak fluent mandarin.

    • @pablocasas5906

      I think the Japanese writers wanted to portray Blossom as a more typical Magical Girl/Shōjo heroine, and those are typical not the most very bright students, like Serena from Sailor Moon, Lucy/Hikaru from Rayearth and Sakura from Cardcaptors. Ironically, Blossom was voiced in Neutral Spanish on both the cartoon and anime by Cristina Hernández, who's also famous for voicing Sakura Kinomoto in Cardcaptors Sakura and Chibi-Usa in the original Sailor Moon and Crystal

    Powerpuff Girls Z was what was on TV when I was a kid during lunchbreaks on weekdays so it was usually what I watched on my free time. Now that I am on a nostalgia high, I would LOOOOVE a reboot of PPGZ in a more young adult theme like how My Adventures with Superman is executed. It's just so perfect and the existing villains serve as great commentaries of the real world so it would 100% fit a mature approach on the show.
    Mojo Jojo about animal cruelty, Gangreen Gang about poverty, Princess Morbucks about classism, Sedusa about body dysmorphia, Rowdyruff Boys as toxic masculinity, and then HIM as the final villain as he is "pure evil" personified.

    23:29 Huh, kind of reminds me of Space Ghost Coast to Coast and JBVO (Toon FM outside of the US) with how they had the live animation rigs, the improv voice acting (I mean I'm sure _most_ of JBVO's host segments ar scripted), Space Ghost would interview celebrities and Johnny would call viewers and sometimes talk to Cartoon Network guest characters. Maybe they can dust off JBVO and turn it into an interview show like when they turned Toon FM into whatever Viva Las Bravo was.

    grew up with Latin-A CN (with shows in their original dubs which is how i learned english) during the 2000's and this brought back lots of fond memories. Was always kind of jealous seeing the shows US CN got that we didn't (like class of 3000), but it's pretty nice knowing we also had our own stuff here. I really dug the el santo shorts and wish we got a full series out of it.

    • @pablocasas5906
      @pablocasas5906 Год назад +4

      To be fair, the only Cartoon Network Original Shows that never came to Latin America were Class of 3000, Robotomy, The Problem Solverz and Secret Fountain of Port Awesome, except for the first 2 I don't think we missed much. On the other hand, Toonami and [adult swim] got more anime shows that we had

    • @KremBotop
      @KremBotop Год назад +2

      Well at least most of the CN Real stuff was skipped there, a major relief. From the featured shows here I have a lot of memories watching the El Santo shorts during the ad breaks multiple times. Didn't even know it was based on an actual wrestler until years later since I'm not Mexican. And based on what other people have said, Latin CN did make a bigger push for PPGZ compared to the US so it fared much better there. And it even brought back the majority of the voice cast of the original PPG latin spanish dub.

    • @pablocasas5906
      @pablocasas5906 Год назад +3

      @@KremBotop I'm not from Mexico but I'm from Latin America and I remember when the "Santo contra los Clones" came out, they even showed some behind the scenes clips. Something pretty cool about the Santo shorts is that El Santo's voice actor, Alberto Pedret, actually voiced the wrestler in some of his movies, yes the wrestler's real voice was dubbed over in his movies for some reason
      About PPGZ, I was a fan of the original show but I only saw some clips of the anime, I'm glad that they managed to keep the Neutral Spanish cast almost intact, the only major exception was Buttercup, her original voice actress Rossy Aguirre (Sailor Mercury, Akane Tendo) had some issues with the dubbing studio

    • @KremBotop
      @KremBotop Год назад +2

      @@pablocasas5906 Well, even Arnold Schwarzenegger was dubbed over in his earlier movies so it's no wonder that El Santo dealt with the same thing. Still, it's neat that the VA returned for the shorts. And wasn't Gendy's Clone Wars airing at the same time? With the clones in both series' titles.
      Same here, watched the OG PPG a lot as a kid and was intrigued by PPGZ though it came out at a time when I was watching Nick a lot more often so I didn't end up seeing much from it. Wouldn't mind taking a proper look later. Shame about Buttercup's recast ofc, that should've been the beginning of the end of CN's working relationship with longtime dubbing studio Sensaciones Sónicas as the issues there would then increase a lot more in the following years. And I think Him was also recast too. Though when it comes to the returning VAs, Blossom's VA Cristina Hernández already had plenty of experience dubbing Magical Girl anime with her previous roles as Sailor ChibiMoon and Sakura Kinomoto, so voicing this anime take on Blossom should've been a smooth transition.

    • @pablocasas5906
      @pablocasas5906 Год назад +2

      @@KremBotop I think Genndy's Clone Wars shorts aired around 2003 and 2005, before Revenge of the Sith came to theaters. I'm glad that they managed to keep the dub voice cast of the movies for the shorts.
      Speaking about the Powerpuff Girls, it's kind of funny that they main girls and some of the cast also worked on magical girls anime like Sailor Moon. Blossom was voiced by Cristina Hernández who voiced Chibi-Moon, though in a couple of episodes she was replaced by Vanessa Garcel who actually voiced Chibi-Moon is his first appearance and in episodes 72-74 Blossom was voiced by Circe Luna who voiced Sailor Star Healer and Palla-Palla; while Rossy Aguirre (Buttercup) voiced Sailor Mercury and her replacement in PPGZ Mariana Ortiz is the daughter of the late Araceli de León who voiced Sailor Jupiter; and Maggie Vera who voices Bubbles voiced Queen Serenity in Sailor Moon Crystal Eternal

    Random one… the Latin American version of toonami on Cartoon Network had the Sony dub of Rurouni Kenshin. This version pronounced Kenshin as Kenshi and the show was called samurai X. DBZ and sailor moon were in Spanish.

Apparently there's a later episode not yet on D+ where it's sung by Gabriel's nephew Félix who's been akumatized into the supervillain (have to specify the super part because he is already a villain), Argos where it _was_ translated.

    While also essentially making it more of a sequel series when you think about it, where the original girls existed.. But taking place in a different time period.
    Which gets proven when they have the series take place in NEW townsville instead of just Townsville.
