Pigeon was perfect casting, absolutely legendary
Such a great choice
R.I.P. Norm Macdonald 🕊️
Well I don't think that this awesome show can continue without the wildcard that was Norm Macdonald as Pigeon/Richard this might be Mike Tyson's cartoon but it kinda turned into Mike Tyson and Norm's as the best cartoon comedy duos since Beavis and Butt Head
It's crazy because I feel like I speak for us all when I say the show literally won't be the same without him even though he provided so little to the show, but it it was a strong hit.
He was the best character
The fact that every line Mike does sounds like he's reading it for the first time is so funny and hits way harder when you're baked made this show fire
makes you forget that he went to jail for raping some one...how many rapists do you like? Whats the difference between Tyson and Kevin Spacey? serious question as it seems like everyone here in youtube land is a hypocrite
Currently baked and you're right
One of my favorite parts of the show is when pigeon goes on about how he sometimes forgets that that's Mike tyson and how easily he could kill any of them. The delivery of it is jusy so good.
Such a good moment
😂😂😂
It was like damn cause you hear it but let’s be real until the show where he punched a man to death or when he was just running around punching random people
Mike Tyson Mysteries, Another adult animated cartoon that I love to watch! Mike did an astounding job voicing the fictional version of himself, And of course Pigeon is one of my favorite characters Norm Macdonald was the perfect casting choice for the character may he rest in peace.
You were suppose to wish for me to be human again not for you to be a pigeon.😅
RIP for sure
Sometimes I think that we forget that he is Mike Tyson and he could fucking kill us
@@emperortrevornorton3119 I think everyone from joe Rogan to Snoop Dogg has said the quote verbatim.
I've always said that this was Norm's show. Without Pigeon, the show wouldnt have been as good as it was. I'm kinda glad that one of his last projects was a high note.
This show is great example of a perfect main cast
@@HatsOffMedias 😅
This show was so off the rails but yet really funny and charming at times.
I couldn't stop laughing
almost makes you forget mike tyson went to jail for raping some one...the cartoon is that good eh?
Who else really wanted to see a Mike Tyson and Venture Bros. crossover? Can you even imagine the insanity that would unfold?
I'd LOVE that
@@HatsOffMedias Thx for replying.
I'd have loved to see Brock VS. Mike!
The ultimate throwdown😁
Norm MacDonald is a national treasure. RIP.
This show was perfect, man, I’m glad to see it get the love it deserves. I feel like not enough people watch it
It literally sounds like Mike Tyson is reading the script right there in the recording booth for the first time.
And that actually makes it perfect.
I'm still a little sad that Adult Swim never picked up another season of series (which meant we could have have more Norm a Pigeon!!!) but I'm glad the show got as many episodes as it did. Still makes me laugh my ass off!!!❤😂
Yeah, I wish we could have gotten one more
I mean Norm passed away. it was kinda out of their control.
@@polocatfan no they had time before his passing. They were just twiddling their thumbs going um .... Maybe....then after they approved another season they later changed their minds.
At least it never jumped the shark
I am surprised they picked up the show at all, he raped someone and went to jail, usually thats a bye felicia type thing, never to be seen in a good light again....but here you are, loving the rapist because he made you laugh....wow dude wow, how many other sex offenders out there that make you laugh so much you forget about their crimes?
Mike's delivery of his lines were so spot on, so many jokes were made so much better when they came out of his mouth. we were so lucky to get 70 episodes of this show that's way more than what most AS shows get.
Mike Tyson was such a good sport for this show.
Edit: That KNOCKOUT edit was smooth af, matches perfectly.
Also the "we have to talk about it at some point, I'm 18!" part 🤣.
Glad it landed!
Yea the rapist is good for a "kids" show, perfectly sums up the hypocrisy in the world and the double standards. Cosby will never be looked at in a pleasant light, but not the convicted rapist known as Mike Tyson. If we can do that for him, will we one day look at Bill cosby with any sort of positive light? I know Michael Jackson was forever tarnished as a child molester. But because Tyson raped an adult its ok?
seriously....
I had no idea Marcus was jacked, and yet he still gets the shit kicked out of him on the regular.
Jim Rash as Marquess is incredibly underrated, some of his quotes and monologues are the funniest scenes in the show
The similarities between this character and "Ray Gillette" from Archer, as voiced by Adam Reed, are hard to ignore.
Norm Macdonald was an absolute legend I remember listening to most of his stuff in 2018-2019 and falling in love with mike tyson mysterious thanks to him. He really played pigeon perfectly and made a character most people would hate with a passion, and made him some what loveable, its really ashamed he died I never had a celebrity death hit me that hard.
An irreplaceable talent
HBOMax’s Velma could learn from Yung. She’s sarcastic and snarky, but not mean to literally everyone. Awkward, but not disconnected from reality and blaming society for all her problems. Smart, but doesn’t feel the need to constantly talk down to everyone.
You mentioned the episode he keeps killing astronomers and at the end he runs over a guy and is relieved when he figures out the guy is an astrologer. It was a moment that really hooked me to this show.
Such a good reveal
Dammit, another fender bender?
I not to long ago watched this show in December it was one fun ride. I also looked at the credits to find out Mike Tyson was voiced by Mike Freaking Tyson. I didn't know he sounded like that.
People have been making fun of his voice since the 80s.
@@eddiew.4650 huh I've always knew about him I just never knew what he sounded like haha.
I want him to voice in more stuff
My favorite funfact about the show is that Mike Tyson actually thought Yung Hee was Chinese because his character kept calling her Chinese
Yeah, I saw that in some interviews
This show was one the funniest things Adult Swim had, tragic it ended the way it did.
Yeahhh, it was super good
💮Mike Tyson Mysteries is the anti-Velma(2023)
Hmmm...maybe
My bf got me into Mike Tyson's Mysteries. I would watch episodes when it came on but i never sat down and watched the full series until he asked me to watch with him.
I laughed so hard, the show is so wild but it works.
Excellent job as always. Pigeon is my favorite 😂
It has no right to be this funny
I knew that this show existed but never think to much about it. After this video I will give it a chance, I laught a lot with the jokes I saw here.
Also, this channel is amazing. The other day my brother and I watched your video about Dexter and we relieved a very important part of our childhoods. Keep going man.
Thanks dude!
It was a fun show and did adult mystery shows a due service for being campy and fun.
I want more stuff like this
@@HatsOffMedias we all do but we get stuff like Velma instead
with a rapist like tyson, they had to make it campy and fun for you to over look the fact that Tyson went to jail for raping someone....
As a note: 4:53 where Mike is talking about the show, was not on his podcast, it was Snoop's GGN show.
By far one of the funniest shows i ever watched. Sad I only started following halfway thru the final season. Insane realising the finale the show ended with
Such a crazy episode
The “he’s trying to say something but I can’t hear him” is to this day one of the funniest moments in any cartoon ever
If the episodes weren't so short it would be top tier
I think that's what makes it great 😂
My favourite episode is the one where we found out who Yung He's real father is
😅 yep for some reason it kinda reminded me of Spike lee old boy movie plot twist
7:18
This is wrong in the 4 seasons they managed to solve 7 mysteries
1- found out who said Macbeth
2- help the farmer get to the restaurant
3- found missing boy in the tree
4- cut the red ribbon on the mining museum
5- found the cause of the ghost shares
6- found the missing Indian boy
7- help Margaret get her wish
R.I.P Norm
This show was 🔥🔥🔥
He will definitely be missed
literally the only thing good about the show, why he worked with a rapist like tyson, I will never know
I had no idea this show existed till I showed my friend The Orville. And after the first episode, she was asking me who voiced Yafit (the blob guy). I initially didn't know but she looked it up and found out it was Norm Mcdonald. So she made me watch this show and I fell in love
"the stories they tell feel like the ramblings of a madman"
dude, this perfectly described the way i described the plot synopsis of each episodes to my friends.. which probably explains why they looked at me as if i made this show up..
snoop and mike the killer combo
For real tho
The craziness of this show reminds me of the chaos of always sunny
Mike Tyson Mysteries is SUCH an underrated show. Loved every episode.
That opening scene is crazyy
this kinda reminds me of the origin story of aqua teen hunger force where the whole mystery side of the show was really just a ruse to get the higher ups at adult swim to green light it.
Now to solve the mystery of it lasting forever
If we're going beginning to end, not just cherry picking the best seasons, this is my second favorite animated sitcom after King of the Hill. I love the weirdly calm tone of the show. Even as they're fighting aliens and ghosts and bigfoots, the show never really raises its voice, y'know? It matches the quiet vibes of the Nevada desert.
Mike in real life actually loves pigeons
I can't believe you neglected to mention that its revealed that Pigeon is Jung Hee's father.
I mean, I don't like to spoil everything in my vids
@@HatsOffMedias I can appreciate that. Still that kind of the capstone to his characters arc in the series.
but pigeon hits on jung hee
@@markbryant-wt7rc Pigeon doesn't learn that Jung Hee is his daughter until almost the end of the series and that revelation kind of hits like a truck for that reason.
@@Terminalsanity ewwwwww jung hee likes pigeon too
Loved Norm Macdonald in this. Miss that guy.
Same here
Let me show you my succulents.
No thanks, im straight
Cant wait for capcom to make a reference in sf6 with a fake in universe show called "balrog/m. Bison conundrums"
So glad that people still appreciate this show! I Still watch it every now and then
The first time I watched this show, I thought the dude who was voicing Mike did a really good job.
Then they did the little after cartoon bit, and I realized that it really was Mike...
Mind blown🤯
Jackie Chan adventures was goated loved that show.
I still will say that Jackie Chan Adventures is the best celebrity cartoon but Mike Tyson's Mysterys is pretty good too.
I plan on taking a look at that one too
@@HatsOffMedias cool
Having a famous poet arrested to protect his son, _and_ father of modern boxing. What a chad.
Mike killing god is even funnier when you remember that in this show, Jerry Jones is god
I just think it's funny he took out God and the devil
What the hell happened to Adult Swim? Used to be filled to the brim with amazing cartoons like this. Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Boondocks, Venture Bros., Superjail, Moral Orel, Frankenhole, so many great shows.
I like the running joke where everyone keeps thinking Young is a boy
Salute bra, documentary style videos about our favorite cartoons wit real research and info behind them u got a hit channel
Holy shit you mention Jackie Chan's show at the beginning, I watched the hell out of that as a kid
Bro, that Muhammad Ali cartoon clip genuinely looks like something Marc M. animated
It's soooo crazy looking
this "god dying because of his own powers" remind me of the demons? in the 7 deadly sins anime who would die when their enemies would use their power's rules against them!
Definitely a show I over looked when it first began airing bc I did think it was gonna be a bad celebrity cartoon. Very happy that it succeeded expectations tho!
Same, but I'm glad I came back to it
"[...] and there's not even a mystery in this one; Iron Mike just mollywops the Prince of Darkness... and *it works."*
thats another reason why Mike is such an awesome person. how many big names wouldve just kicked these guys in the ass -> out the door? Mike kept his mind open and was willing to step outside his comfort zone to make some fun entertainment on a whim. the guy inspires me with literally every single piece of recorded history with him in it. he answers every question asked of him by taking a moment to think first and then will give you the most profound answer that will leave you thinking about all kinds of shit for awhile even though you only asked him how he felt about broccoli or something. Mike is a treasure. theres not much more to say. I appreciate growing up watching him navigate life as a warrior and even more appreciate him enjoying it finally as a sage. and a warrior. he would still knock a motherfuckers head off if he has to
Yung isn't pan. She doesn't sound sure of herself when she says it and we only ever see her attracted to boys. She was just being pressured to answer by pigeon.
One of the best running gags of the show is that mike throws up his dukes almost anytime he hears a bell
11:20 HOLY FUCKING CHRIST 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
my personal fav adult swim show (tied w smiling friends) its the most underrated show OAT fr
I feel like this show is what _Velma_ was trying to pull off, but they failed miserably.
Aw man, another fender bender?
I literally made Mike Tyson Mysteries, I used to watch this when I was young (my parents let me watch adult swim, bad on you mother and father I know) but like I sat, and was like "ima make a scooby doo parody with a snozzy ghost, a guy with a face tattoo and velma archetype." and didn't think about Mike Tyson Mysteries auUUUUUUUUUUGH!
From the first time I caught an episode I was hooked, and on a separate note it got me into Norm Macdonald. Probably top 3 Adult Swim shows for me but the one I go back to the most.
This is how you do a diverse mystery series MINDY KALING!
Thanks Ugly Velma, I would not know this show exist without you. See, Mindy did do something right, by having other people recommending other shows better than hers.
I love this show so much even if I never enjoyed Mike Tyson as a person.
Marquess is pronounced "mar-kwus", which is why it's funny that everyone calls him "marcus" Marquess is not pronounced the same as marquis, although I've done the same plenty of times too.
You're on a roll, dude! Keep it up!
Thanks! Doing my best
This show was great! Wish it got an proper conclusion tho i loved the old school hannah barbara style look of the show
Thanks for keeping the Fangfandom alive
I like how your voice is synced with the cartoon talking
Love this stupid show.
Like Pigeon said,
Sometimes we forget that’s actually Mike Tyson and he could kill any of us at any moment he chooses.
Or the ghost of the dude who invented boxing is a freaking character and helped guide Mike Tyson, the man who finished boxing.
And Mike is so damn earnest voice delivery.
Damn dude, sick intro too
Your one of my new favorite RUclipsrs! Keep on the great content
Thanks! I'll do my best!
Im glad to have learned about the Meatric system today
That was the perfect opening 🤣🤣
I had a plan, and I delivered
11:19 Mike is right, how the hell could a ghost die, its already dead
8:19 Hey, just wanted to say thanks for unearthing some buried childhood trauma for me with this scene lmfao, I totally forgot that as a kid I LOVED the Dexter's Lab movie but HAD to look away during this scene. The first time I watched it, I recall having a lot of fear as I imagined the situation happening to me, and ended up with nightmares. The story was so good that I never stopped watching the movie though, props to everyone who worked on that movie.
And I'm glad that someone made a video about the show as a retrospective. In spite of the at-times obvious interference by Producers to shoe-horn in more sleezy comedy/overly-violent jokes, the rest of the show really does keep you watching for longer than you'd expect.
The last season is basically full of voice lines trying to get you to hate Pigeon though, I swear, it's annoying as to how badly they end up botching the jokes in the later episodes and what got me to stop watching. Also, I found out about Mike Tyson's "checkered past" and I still don't know if I can separate the art from the artist in this case. Not when the art is an admitedly-funny cash-grab (to specifically help Tyson out when his income wasn't looking too great at the time), but a cash-grab nonetheless. The show's not exactly a high-brow masterpiece for the ages, let's be honest.
I think it's a show worth remembering, as long as the context of the main character's IRL crimes are also kept in mind, but I can't blame anyone for having a different opinion at the same time. Thanks again for making a video that discusses the show in the first place, it was a great skimming of the series for anyone interested in learning about it!
The fight or flight scene is my favorite.
So funny
Truly a gem I yet to finish
Hammer man was mc hammers cartoon when he was hot. He had talking shoes that gave him powers, he would dance his way out of jams.
Pro stars was Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, Wayne Gretzky collab cartoon. I don’t remember what they do in the show but probably 90s cartoon shit like save the day or get power ups.
2:09 I forgot how good the animation of wild kratts is
Yeah, I'm jelly I didn't have it as a kid
The the extended warranty on a $100 pair and just keep trading them in again and again getting another warranty. Also great video on one of the funniest shows ever.
This is was what Velma COULD have been.
Didn't have to be Scooby Doo.
That Rice a Roni bit still has me giggling 5 minutes later.
Mike Tyson mysteries is one of my all time favorite adult swim shows. It reminds me a lot of ATHF in how its self contained insanity. It's funny as hell and doesn't try to be something it's not. I still watch the reruns when they're on
I'd love to see a crossover special with Harvey Birdman. :P
I'd like to see what that could have looked like
Ima go rewatch the entire show now.
Turd Ferguson is almost as entertaining as Mike Tyson and definitely has more intellectual depth than the Pigeon, Norm MacDonald.
RIP Norm McDonald
I miss this show man and I miss norm RIP Norm Macdonald
The ricearoni bit really is one of the greatest one off bits of the whole show.
At the break I got an ad how does he have the power of he man
The Looney Toons show should not be overlooked. That show was stupid funny as well. Daffy in that series is so much like Pigeon.
😅😅 yo now that I think about yesss 😅 if only Looney tunes had cursing
This show deserved s venture bros or Harvey birdman attorney at law crossover haha
In other words this is the show HBO Max's Velma should have take notes from. Yeah I know it's beating a dead horse at this point...well not as a dead horse as the extreme hatred for Scrappy Doo.
Her name is Yung Hee, hence why they run the “looks like a boy” jokes into the ground purposefully
I remember plowing through this show over a long weekend, and man, my stomach hurt so bad from laughing. Show is a classic.
