I love the Traxxis motor plate ABC spacer selections. Set it and forget it. No need for paper, and then the readjust. And the slight groves that sometimes get pressed in. God I love it. This is how they should all be. Oh, and is this a new rc craze? A dedicated mud truck? I sure hope so. Gives me something to trailer in with my crawler. Other than that airboat that never ends up getting used anyway. Hmmm. I really would rather run a brushed motor in my crawler anyway, and keep it out of the mud. This may be the answer.
I'm psyched I found this channel. I found this video very helpful since I'm trying to change my servo. It seems like an easy task but being new to the hobby, the car just drove to the right the first time, I think I need a servo centering tool! I'm going to first put the horn on the drag link as you suggest. Thanks for making creative and informative content.
Hey man great stuff, gobs of power! Can't remember if I let ya know yet, but Bow House RC has a battery lowering kit for the TRX-4. Figured ya might want to drop the cg some after that lift.
Awsome job thanks for showing me the servo tester and the Mr jigg I Have no idea why I never seen those before haha. Well they are all ordered and on way. 😜
HEY HARLEY,with out being one sided, I don't have a 2.2 rig yet, what do you think the bomber kit or the rock Rey kit, just give me your thoughts if you have time, thanx, I know that axial support is huge
IFS vs Solid axle is a HUUUUUGGGGGEEEE difference. If you want to do any trail riding, I would suggest Bomber. The Rock Rey or Yeti even are just not very good rigs unless you're trying to hit the rocks with speed. They aren't really worth driving slow ever. So if you want to do any crawling, Bomber is the only real choice between the two options.
MAD!! I love it! It's cool that with the already abundant Gear Reduction, that you still have wheel standing Torque, even with those tall Tires!! 👍👍🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻 This Mud Looks awesome. Hopefully, I might be able to build something similar. Carmine 💥 ⛽
Did you have to reverse the motor rotation with programming or did you just switch the bullet connectors? I just got a sidewinder sct combo for my fathers trx 4 so that’s why I’m asking
Hey great mod! What are you going to do with all that traxxas electronics? I’m planning to build my first crawler and those can help! If you planning to sale them tell me !
Great video man, hey I have a quick question for ya, I'm building a totally custom crawler with lots of vanquish and insicion parts. I installed a 5700KV sidewinder 3, on 2s. I have a Savox waterproof servo, but I was curious ive been at this kinda stuff for years, but I was curious, before I ruin another servo, how do I properly "center" a servo arm??
chiming in a little late here man but anyway i could get a motor recommendation from you for this truck im still relatively new to the hobby and found out today i have been overpowering mine with a 50c 3s what kind of motor can i run 12.4v on and still be able to crawl ?
Would be cool if it had two speeds so you can somewhat still crawl or for when you get into thick mud but awesome build for the purpose you were going for
That rig looks like a lot of fun!!! What are you thoughts on the motor mount? To me, it is interesting, and it helps out the new guys, but I like setting the mesh by feel.
I REALLY DO WANT THE LIFTKIT,,,,,,,,,BUT I AM NOT* (NOT) GONNA TAKE A WEEK TO DO IT,,,,,,,NOOOO WAYYYYY AND 165$ IM GOOD!!!! YOU ONLY GET LIKE ?? 1INCH MAYYYBE IN LIFT!!!
I understand guys want to tinker and mod, but this seems a bit crazy to me. The TRX4 was not meant to look or perform like this. You took a capable crawler and made it a spastic over powered toy. To each their own, it's your truck, I just don't get it. I totally understand useful mods and upgrades to the TRX4 to improve what it is designed to do, but not this.
You should rethink your way of soldering the female plug to the ESC, could not believe I saw this in one of your videos. BTW: Highly recommended to plug a counter (male) plug into the female (ESC side) XT60 when soldering, otherwise the pins often move a little bit, because the plastic melts. Then the plugs are very hard to plug in and unplug (HK does have pliers); of course a male (battery side) plug without battery, a "dummy"! (Fits into Mr. Jig). Why don't you solder the plug before mounting the ESC into the chassis, and why don't you stabilize the wires and pretin? Since you are probably an ideal for many viewers concerning "technical RC (car) stuff", you should not show such a bad (and incorrect) way of soldering plugs.
There are certainly many ways to solder and some will be better than others. Plugging in a dummy plug was something I often did with deans. XT60 solder so quickly and easily that I’ve never melted one.
For someone who hates mud you sure have made the baddest mud rigs. The kyosho axle one you built was Awesome.
Rodcodnito 00 a part of me loves how people build the trucks, I just hate the cleanup!

Kevin Talbot would be proud.

If you want some mud, come to North Carolina. We have plenty! Oh bring your snorkel too. Great video. Later
Robert Browning stay safe!
I live in NC you ain't lying lmao
YEEEEE YEEEEEE!!!!!! IM IN GREENSBORO,,,,,,I HATE IT I WANNA GET OUT TO THE COUNTRY
Great job editing man. So quick and to the point.
that truck is the definition of a derby mud truck
Hey man great stuff, gobs of power! Can't remember if I let ya know yet, but Bow House RC has a battery lowering kit for the TRX-4. Figured ya might want to drop the cg some after that lift.
Would it not be better with the tires in the other direction so is pulls itself rather than dig a hole? Just a thought
If you are feeling eco friendly, I will gladly take your original electronics as spare parts!
Who wouldn’t
Awsome job thanks for showing me the servo tester and the Mr jigg I Have no idea why I never seen those before haha. Well they are all ordered and on way. 😜
Love it see an animalistic mud truck build in Rc
I just got my first sidewinder4 yesterday n it looks like it’s got some good power 👍😎
Hurry up with the mud Harley we know u love it
Is the rest of the driveline stock?
😉👍Looks great has a bit of the tamiya bruiser look going on.
Shen RC who u winking at Steve 😂
What's with you and making crawlers go fast lately?
Finally! I've ben waiting for this
I love the eco power servos
What do you do for waterproofing your rigs?
Nice mud truck.
But I'd have to keep that as snow only

Why a new receiver?
Did you ever make it to the mud hole, if you did would you send me a link so I can see how good it goes in the mud please???
Check my recent videos, it was just a few uploads ago.
This the truck that will be in the budget build upcoming series? Or starting with a new stock truck?
It’s a new kit
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I know you didn't build the truck for crawling but how is the start up and slow speed control of the SW4 with the 3800kv motor in the Trx4?
JJ78n being that it is senseless, it’s not great. It would not be my choice for trailing or crawling.
I’m a bit late here but if you want something that can still go slow, you want a hobbywing axe
MAD!! I love it! It's cool that with the already abundant Gear Reduction, that you still have wheel standing Torque, even with those tall Tires!! 👍👍🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
This Mud Looks awesome. Hopefully, I might be able to build something similar.
Carmine 💥 ⛽
What is the top speed of the car with all of its upgrades?
What vanquish servo horn did you use the 20mm or the 24 mm I’m trying to put everything on order so I can build a mud truck as well
I used the 20mm
@@HarleyDesignsInc thank you I appreciate it
Did you have to reverse the motor rotation with programming or did you just switch the bullet connectors? I just got a sidewinder sct combo for my fathers trx 4 so that’s why I’m asking
Since it is a sensorless motor, I just reversed wires as needed.
@@HarleyDesignsInc oh okay but if I wanted it to be semsored I would need the castle blink right?
Hey great mod! What are you going to do with all that traxxas electronics? I’m planning to build my first crawler and those can help! If you planning to sale them tell me !
No mention of waterproofing.
Nothing extra as sensorless ?
Nothing needed with this setup, all the components are ready to go.
Is it possible to set any drag brake on it? 🤔 btw you are the reson I bought my trx4 sport. Nice video you really got me hooked 👏
You probably won’t see this but if you still have this truck would you consider selling it?
Great video man, hey I have a quick question for ya, I'm building a totally custom crawler with lots of vanquish and insicion parts. I installed a 5700KV sidewinder 3, on 2s. Power up the servo, make sure the radio is centered, point the wheels straight, install horn.
Harley Designs thank u

How do you like the EcoPower servo? Would you rate it as high as the Futaba and Protek and recommend this servo for crawlers (VS-410, SCx10 ii)?
Definitely not on that level. It’s just a reasonable servo to use on the cheap. But definitely not a high end unit.
How much will all of these upgrades cost
Everything is linked in the description, you can add it up pretty quickly.
Sweet . thanks for the look.
Looks great seems a bit stiff in the suspension tho
He said in another video that it’s specifically for mud
does the motor cog at a low speed
Not too bad, but this is not a truck you would use for anything other than go fast mud action.
That truck might give the Drag Bolt a good race. lol
Is that with the stock gear ratio
I didn’t change anything else from what I recall!
where can one get those tires and rims
is that castle esc waterproof?
Yes it is
My servo screws install down from the top, did you have to mount it that way because of lift kit?
Yes, that’s the lift kit mounting.
Name and/or link to the servo tester? Keep up the good work!
3800 can handle 3s?
Awesome now we need some MUDD👍🍻
What gears did u change
Only a pinion gear to fit the motor, everything is stock otherwise
How do you like those tires
They are a beast in the mud 🦅🦅
Harley Designs what about in the snow
Never driven them in the snow, we don’t get snow where I live so I’d have to go into the mountains.
Круто! Подскажи пожалуйста, что за зезина такая?
Резина
How long till you hit the mud?
Today!!
What brushed motor would give more speed but still work with the stock esc
Dan Gavin - RC videos better off getting brushless
Yes finally lifted Trx 4
Is the "Mr. Solder Jig" something you machined or something you can buy on Amazon?
It’s available for purchase but I’ve had it for 5-6 years probably!
Awesome dude can I do it to my deadbolt
so many ideas now 💡
Great videos man! Subscribed and keep it up!
Would be cool if it had two speeds so you can somewhat still crawl or for when you get into thick mud but awesome build for the purpose you were going for
They have them but its a kir
Kit
That rig looks like a lot of fun!!! What are you thoughts on the motor mount? To me, it is interesting, and it helps out the new guys, but I like setting the mesh by feel.
I don’t like it, the mesh seems too tight, and the whole thing feels flimsy. Just not a fan!
Damn i like everything about this truck except the esc motor i prefer using hb
Looking forward to the Mud pit video........... 8^))
Hey who doesn't like speed, I see you caught the bug lately! Lol
Running same setup on a monster slash 💪🏼👌🏼
Awesome setup lol
New wheelie king lol
Man love those tires
got a need for speed this and the dragbolt :P
Awesome mud truck!!
You may also want to 3D Print some inner Wheelwells for it, to keep mud out of the Gearbox and Electronics...
Nice color, power :)
More vids on this thing !!!!
needs rear wheel stear
TIME TO FIND SOME MUD!!!!😆😆😆😆
Paultro 84 good to see u brotha! 👍😎
Damn that’s something unique lmao nice one👍🏼
I was wondering what happened to this
My only complaint about TRX4 is high carbon hardware will rust like crazy.
Needs the bigfoot body on it!!
Needs a Chevy square body now
I see the motor is sensored, isn't the esc? Is there a reason not to set it up as sensored ?
GMUMMY SW4 is a non sensored esc
Awesome dude
RC PATAPOUF u changed ur icon, no more ninja bear
@@STEVOD313 u prefer the ninja bear ?
I'd toss a set of inner fenders on before the mud...
I do like the EcoPower servos, but one of the gears is still plastic, FYI: www.amainhobbies.com/ecopower-120t-metal-servo-gear-set-ecp-3099/p755536
Looken Good!👍
I like it 👍🏻
any bets on the mud roost this is going to throw in the air? 10' starts the bet..lol
look ma, I made a new Wheelie King
Terra Quest RC what’s up brotha good to see u
Nice
I REALLY DO WANT THE LIFTKIT,,,,,,,,,BUT I AM NOT* (NOT) GONNA TAKE A WEEK TO DO IT,,,,,,,NOOOO WAYYYYY AND 165$ IM GOOD!!!! YOU ONLY GET LIKE ?? 1INCH MAYYYBE IN LIFT!!!
I enjoyed a great video let's be friends🤩🤩🤩😊😊
우리 친구 해요!!!!!
In it to win it;)
Awesome I subbed
I GOTTA DO THIS WHEN I GET MY TRX4(BUT MUDDING TIRES) AND GONNA STAY(BRUSHED)
Why do people say waterproof brushless? Any unsenored brushless motor will run under water no problem.
🤘🍻🤘
Why all the Traxxas hate you Futaba fan boy? ;-P
