With that many views you should have more likes, this info is DIFFICULT to find, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with this setup, VERY helpful.
Thanks! I've said it before - my content was always going to be niche as I make videos about things I want to see on youtube but can't find. Some positive feedback is always welcome though.
The card that you are using is very old then. This is something seen on units manufactured prior to April 2009. This was later corrected and APC normally replaces them for free if you had an issue on it bearing you call them upon identification of the issue. No need to use a hacksaw.
Nice video. I have a question . If I take NFC card form one UPS and place it to a new one will it work or Do I need to reset (using the reset button) the old used card before using it again on other UPS and get another ip address .
Thanks. I’m not able to answer that. I purchased a used card but it required several firmware updates before it even became visible on the network so I have no idea if it would have worked under the old config.
The usb allows you to connect devices where the UPS needs to inform them to perform a graceful shutdown rather than over the network. I think the other port you are referring to is a serial port for direct access to the UPS (not the NMC).
Thanks for the video mate! But I have one clarification, you said "off network" to configure the nmc. Does that mean you connect the nmc's lan cable directly to your computer, from then you are able to reset username and pass to log in to the web interface?
Yes - I made a direct connection between the laptop and the NMC with a network cable. You might need to set a static IP address on the computer to make sure you are on the same network but the APC app will keep you right.
Mark Jiidee no, APC offer a download for the configuration software. I used that to detect the card with a direct Ethernet connection then gave it my specified IP address and subnet.
@@AlbaTech I think its more a QA issue in tier development process. I also believe that there are some hardware issues compounding the problem with the software. I have found them the be almost eager to replace hardware which also suggests they are aware of the issue and that software updates are goign to resolve it at the customers expected level of performance.
Have a question. Can you remotely turn on/off battery charging? For example if use Li-Ion pack then you certainly do not want this thing to charge battery 24/7.
CraftMojo I have no experience with that card and with the extra features I image it would be even more expensive so I didn’t consider it. APC support are very helpful, and they do list the firmware alongside the 9630 so you might be in luck.
Thankyou for your reply. Can you please recommend some of the best softwares,, right now I am using tera term and hyper terminal but I am not satisfied.

What are the usb and ethernet ports above nmc the slot for ?

Brother I want to ask how to find any NMC existing ip address
@@AlbaTech Hello, How do you know your NMC IP address is 192.168.1.30. Is it default like this?
Mark Jiidee no, APC offer a download for the configuration software. I used that to detect the card with a direct Ethernet connection then gave it my specified IP address and subnet.
@@AlbaTech Thanks. What is the app?
We've had numerous issues with dozens APC unitsover the last decade and have switched to Eaton.
P. Wingert Interesting. Makes no sense that APC left that faulty firmware out in the wild for so long.

Can we shut down power of srt300xli ups with AP9630 network card
Is it possible to control my ups anywhere i mean cloudly with my android phone!!
Maybe the newer APC cards let you do that but this old one is local network only.
Have a question. Can you remotely turn on/off battery charging?

Charge cycles are controlled by the firmware, you’d have to ask APC about that.
is NMC card can be install to active UPS? or when installed the NMC UPS must off ?
I would never perform a hot swap on it.
@@AlbaTech i have to ask APC engineer, it possible to install on active UPS. then i try it. and the NMC working .
@@AlbaTechhot swap works fine, there are no problems with it
How about the compability between AP9631 and SMT750i ?
CraftMojo I have no experience with that card and with the extra features I image it would be even more expensive so I didn’t consider it. APC support are very helpful, and they do list the firmware alongside the 9630 so you might be in luck.
I want to configure new ip to NMC and I don't know the previous ip address what is the procedure find old ip
Umar Butt try the APC website, they offer a piece of software that should allow you to configure the card.
Thankyou for your reply. Can you please recommend some of the best softwares,, right now I am using tera term and hyper terminal but I am not satisfied.
Umar Butt MacOS!
