Fabulous! (This tutorial is so old, but classic!) Soon to be Grandma, didn't understand why anyone would use gauze. Now I know. I really appreciate how quickly Rob moves through a project. Fast, but clear. Thank you!
U R Krazy ... but that's what makes it fun watching your tutorials. Thanks for the demo, not only on making the Swaddle Blanket, but how to use it properly. Now I know where to send someone when they say "swaddle a baby" (and look at me like I'm nuts). Glad to see there are some in the younger (your) generation that knows what I'm talking about. Love it.
I love this tut. My daughter is an expert swaddler, even nurses have told her she has great technique! I'm using this method to make swaddling blankets for my son, who will be a first time dad this October.
Having been a Nurse Practitioner for premies and term infants this was the best fabric I ever used. The parents would get it as a gift and I would tell them to use it instead of the baby blankets by the hospital because they are extremely soft and it is like using the self securing wrap that labs and vets use to wrap wounds. I am glad you gave a tutorial
Back over 40 years ago when our kiddos were babies, we did almost the same thing with flannel receiving blankets. We just didn't know we were swaddling. 8-) This fabric sounds wonderful!
I like the red T shirt. I love your videos. I like to show my youngest son who has his own sewing machine. He got tired of watching other people make things in my classes.
Rob- You are sooo funny! Of course our Embrace double gauze in the whale print is perfect for you and your Swaddle blanket! So happy to see the tutorial! Thanks!
New fan! So glad to find this channel. I'm a beginner to sewing making a muslin blanket for my nephew. Many sewing videos don't remember to use terminology for beginners and they've been hard to follow. You do a great job of explaining the process and simplifying it. Happy to be following along!
I don't know why no one ever showed me how to do this with my two babies....so happy to know how with my new granddaughter.....ty soooo much.... and yes talk about wiggle worm.....mwah!!!
Love this!! Easy, quick, and SO useful. Swaddling saved our sanity when my (now adult) children were little....a blanket like this would have made things so much easier!!
yes! my moms friend madeyou daughter a big blanket out of fleece and I loved it! it was the perfect size to swaddle her as she grew! we still have it and she's 3 and still loves it!
My first time to your channel and when you first started yelling at me I almost ran out & bought some oxyclean. 😂 Hopefully I’m not so old no one else gets that reference 😆
Love this tutorial Rob. I'm gonna give it a try, but wonder if it will work as good with my baby. She has a significantly shorter beard than your boy, Jerry. I have my duct tape handy just in case. Thanks for all you do. You inspired this Dad to start his own sewing channel. Much love!
+Dad Sews what an awesome comment!! Thank you so much for the love and support! You'll have to let us know how the swaddle for your baby works out, shorter beard and all. :) Good luck on your adventure with sewing!
Swaddled Jerry. lololol. I use various plush and live animals for modeling my baby wares as well. This might be my fave use of Jerry so far, lol. Totally AWESOME tutorial.
I'd love the sewing machine tee. Husband bought me a new Phaff and I sew enjoy using it. Love your informative tutorials too. This one was good but I like the French seam one best.
now this is a great tutorial. I love the easy blanket for swaddling. I will definitely have to make one of these. thank you for the ideas. you are great!!!
I agree with Marcia Tokarchuk I almost lost it when you said duct tape -I was like "are you crazy !" then I got it lol to funny " Never duct tape your children ever" great funny video
This is a great gift idea!! So simple. When at a quilting event a vendor had some double gauze there....so soft and cuddly. Thank you for the instructions!! BTW....I would choose the red t-shirt. :0)
Thanks! Our first grandchild will be arriving in a couple of months. Already made many quilts, never thought of this though. You rock! Do not duct tape children, still laughing...Bwhahahahahah.
I thought maybe Jerry had a bad trip and was in a straight jacket. But really infants sleep so much better when they are swaddled. I bet the double gauze would be perfect for summer in the desert southwest.
I have sold rolls and rolls of that tape. What a great use for it that you have shown. Lol. I need to purchase this fabric. It feels rough in my local fabric shop which hinders me from purchasing.
It softens up after a few washes. It's seriously the best for swaddling. It's stretchy so you can get a nice tight swaddle and its thin and breathable so baby doesn't get too hot.
Great "toot"! One of my babies needed nice tight swaddling and the other had to be "free as a bird"... Chalk and cheese, hey. Thanks for all the great tutorials!
You are so funny! I loved the disclaimer...don't put duct tape on a baby...hahaha! We have a great-grand baby coming in May! I might just make a swaddling blanket. I already made a quilt for the little guy. This would be a fast easy project.
I'm a total newbie to sewing but today I made my grandson's first receiving blanket. He's due in late summer so I want to try double gauze fabric... can I add wide bias tape to finish or is that overkill?
Hello there! The bais may be too much/too thick visiaully. I would give the double gauze a try, I loved the way my swaddling cloth turned out - especially once out of the washer and dryer. Have fun!
:D Duct tape - nice touch! Perfect timing with this. I have a friend due with her first (and long awaited) in just a few weeks. Gauze blankies for summer will make a perfect gift!
hi there i am new to your channel but not new to sewing, but its been a while since i have done some sewing due to an injury o my re and now i am slowly getting back in to it,, i love this tutorial, but i wanted to know where you got your Iron, i have nver seen a cordless iron and i have been wishing for something like to come out,,, please where can it get one

I have a grandson coming in July and this whale fabric is perfect for his room. I think you were reading my mind. Thanks so much.
Having been a Nurse Practitioner for premies and term infants this was the best fabric I ever used. ShannonFabrics how are your double gauze fabrics, by the way?
The one thing I love about the tutorials is your ability to laugh at yourself. Love the humor.

+Diane Nickerson thank you so much for your awesome comment!! We really appreciate it!
I've been afraid of sewing with double gauze, so it was nice to watch your hands-on tutorial. Thank you!
yes! my moms friend madeyou daughter a big blanket out of fleece and I loved it! it was the perfect size to swaddle her as she grew! we still have it and she's 3 and still loves it!

LMAO! My goodness I'm howling here! Off the shelf...Really! Duct tape for Security! I'm absolutely dying!
Best Video ever...Thanks Rob!
I Just happened to your channel and absolutely love your video. Now I am going to binge watch your others. Thank you!
The disclaimer to not duct tape your children had me laughing. Another great one. Thank you for the fun and knowledge.
Love that double gauze fabric! It looks like it has the right amount of flexibility for swaddling. Must try!
Oh my word, you are hysterical!!!! Great tutorial. Will try for my grandchildren. Even funnier presentation. You are a hoot! Keep em comin!
Yay! I get to make baby things again. My daughter's assistant coach is going to have a baby so this would make a super shower gift.
Great! We're expecting our first grandchild in the Fall... my daughter in law would love this.
Great Tutorial and very easy to make. I made one and then washed it later....came out very soft with very little fraying.
Loved the swaddled Jerry Garcia!! Too funny! Thanks for another fun tutorial. I love Mondays, thanks to you! :)
Love the idea of using double gauze for many projects. Thanks for all the super fun and creative video tutorials Rob! :)
+queenopearls thank you so much for watching!!
Oh my.....busted a gut at the end! Thanks for the demo on working with gauze fabric. I've always been intimidated by it.
Haha! Very enjoyable to watch. I think I'll go find some double gauze to make these as gifts. I had no idea sewing it was so easy.
Love the tutorial and the duct tape made me laugh out loud. So fun!!!!
Love that double gauze fabric! I will have to see if I can locate it online. Thanks for the tutorial! I can't believe you duct taped poor Jerry, lol.

That fabric is adorable!
FANTASTIC!!!!!
Sweet projectI

Thank you Rob!!
Have fun making this, Susie!
Man sewing tutorials are just great!
This is great! I love that I can get fabric to match the family rather than just pick something up off the shelf.
+Cindy Moreno there are a bunch of adorable prints in this fabric line! You can view them all when clicking the link in the description of this video!
Swaddled Jerry. lololol. I use various plush and live animals for modeling my baby wares as well. This might be my fave use of Jerry so far, lol. Totally AWESOME tutorial.
+Cheryl Land He's generally quiet but sometimes I have to swaddle him to calm him down a tad.
Rob you are truly a fantastic presenter and teacher! I am so cheered by this video, it's good to laugh! Thank you so much 😂😂😂
+Joanne Boswell thank you so much for following along and watching this one!! Glad I was able to brighten your Monday!
I love your fabric choices, Keep up the grate sewing. God Bless you! :)
I'd love the sewing machine tee. Husband bought me a new Phaff and I sew enjoy using it. Love your informative tutorials too. This one was good but I like the French seam one best.
Really easy to make! Demo superbly done!😊
I about died when you took out the tape! Too funny! I could imagine my duct tape loving husband doing that!
Very nice-smart use of material. I will be buying some for a new grandbaby in Sept.
You swaddled Jerry!!! I love it!!!!
My favorite part was the duck tape lol! After 4 sons and now 10 grandchildren, duck tape is the way to go 😁
Love the idea of that fabric. May have to try some for the next baby gift.
now this is a great tutorial. I love the easy blanket for swaddling. I will definitely have to make one of these. thank you for the ideas. you are great!!!

This is a great gift idea!! So simple. When at a quilting event a vendor had some double gauze there....so soft and cuddly. Thank you for the instructions!! BTW....I would choose the red t-shirt. :0)
This is a great video! As a mom of many I learned early on the need for a good swaddling. This came a bit late for me but great video to pass on.
Can't wait to make one! I would pick the needle shirt.
The finished swaddle blanket is in the wash. Quick, easy, fun. Will be mailed to Florida tomorrow
Fantastic Jude! Feel free to share a photo of it with us on the Man Sewing Facebook and/or Instagram!
Great ,Rob, reminds me zi swaddled my granddaughter when she just would not sleep, guess what it worked.love your stuffmojo
Thanks! Our first grandchild will be arriving in a couple of months. Already made many quilts, never thought of this though. You rock! Do not duct tape children, still laughing...Bwhahahahahah.
You're a riot! Great tutorial. Love your energy!
Lina. I used to swaddle my children 30 years ago. Yes mine was wrapped very tightly. My son still swaddles himself. Lol.
I subscribed for the duck tape😂😂
love these blankets for baby! I was looking for the tutorial on the ironing board. Love your videos!
Here's a link to the ironing board tutorial for you, Deanna! :) ruclips.net/video/Z5g95I-52p8/видео.html
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 kudos to you for sewing period! Love it!!!
love that you love Jerry! ✌🏼
Thanks so much, been looking for a simple muslin swaddle video and there doesn’t seem to be many out there!
You are so crazy, but so much fun to watch! I always look forward to your next tutorial in my email inbox!

That was great. Lol I love how u actually had 2 put in the "Do NOT duct tape your children" bit. Lmbo!
Hahahah the duct tape!!! My little guy was so strong I had to get the Velcro swaddles.
Also works as straight jacket in a pinch.
ct that the fabric is wide enough to make the swaddle a good large size. Also, thanks for the swaddling demo.
What an awesome tutorial.. I love your personality.. and you cracked me up with the duct tape.. 😂
You are so funny! I loved the disclaimer...don't put duct tape on a baby...hahaha! We have a great-grand baby coming in May! I might just make a swaddling blanket. I already made a quilt for the little guy. This would be a fast easy project.
I like that material for sure!
Was this an ad for double gauze? I had been hoping for the usually really good patchwork or quilting videos.
+Bits'nbobs Variety is a good thing - even for quilters. lol
+Bits'nbobs we love trying out new fabrics to expand our sewing skills, sorry that this one wasn't your cup of tea!
+Sue Golob Hi Sue, Thanks for the lol but I just thought if you can't hem a piece of fabric how could you manage to quilt? Variety I like but... :)
Great project! And the duct tape, so funny!
Thank you for the video I really enjoyed
Cute an you crack me up great videos
Can't wait to try this!
Great video!! Will be making one of these for sure!

Hello there! The bais may be too much/too thick visiaully. I would give the double gauze a try, I loved the way my swaddling cloth turned out - especially once out of the washer and dryer. Have fun!
This fabric makes fabulous pre folded diapers also. Use about four layers, and bind as you would a quilt.
That's a great idea!
:D Duct tape - nice touch! Perfect timing with this. I have a friend due with her first (and long awaited) in just a few weeks. Gauze blankies for summer will make a perfect gift!
+Cindi Johnson how exciting for her!!! Glad this came in good timing!
2021 made me find you- thanks so much for this!
Great tutorial Rob
This is great! I have a new grand baby coming in June. I would love to win the needle and thread t-shirt.
Thank you so much Rob, that's awesome
hi there i am new to your channel but not new to sewing, but its been a while since i have done some sewing due to an injury o my re and now i am slowly getting back in to it,, i love this tutorial, but i wanted to know where you got your Iron, i have nver seen a cordless iron and i have been wishing for something like to come out,,, please where can it get one
Hi Tammy! Thank you for tuning into the Man Sewing tutorials. Rob uses this iron while he is filming: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/35414/panasonic/-/360-freestyle-cordless-iron-silver
HAHAHAHAHA! you got a real belly laugh on this one at the end! 😂👏🏼
love that fabric. looks so soft. lol duct tape!!! too funny!!!
I'd serge the raw edges, fold them under and then sew the final seam with a regular sewing machine straight stitch.
Not everyone has a serger...
Rob you are such a kewl dude (I mean bambino).
Great video very easy instructions . I love the iron that has no cord attached . Where can I buy one ?
Isn't it great! No cords in the way! Here's a link to it. www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/35414/panasonic/-/360-freestyle-silver-cordless-iron
Man Sewing A
Hi, I was wondering if you could do this double sided, like 1 pattern on each side
Kool! But do I have to use the double gauze? I'm visually impaired so sewing's coming to me late in life. Thx!
+Bionic Shay EmeraldGypsyHeart I would highly recommend it for this project!
HAHA!!! Why didn't I think of duct tape for my kids?! But seriously, awesome and going to make a few of these for some upcoming babies :)
Does the gauze stretch while sewing the edges? Thanks for the tutorial.
+Rebecca P it actually sews really easy! We didn't have problems with it stretching but like all fabrics, take your time and get comfortable with it!
+Man Sewing Thanks! I did sew on it and it was nice to work with.
Great tutorial!😊
This is great. Swaddler! But do you really need to wrap babies up so tightly? I'm asking because I don't know. Really?
Duct tape has always been a mother's best friend...
Not mine, CPS would have a field day and I would be eating bread and water ,in an orange uniform. SMH
