Our crazy journey back to Ireland and how we nearly didn't make it. We nearly missed our flight and then we missed the bus it was a super long and stressful journey back to Ireland and here is our story

Amazing trip lol I love traveling like that all crazy. Glad you got there safely. You both look so different in jackets and hoodies. The only time you see Tom in a hoodie is when he is home. Have a wonderful time and can’t wait for your next show. Watched this 5 times in a row make some money 💰.

Our last vacation was also a nightmare for her to get out of the country and she was denied to board the flight. We had to pay another ticket plus do a lot of paperwork(10 days) for her to be able to just be with me. I totally understand you guys struggle at the airport too.
Finally you are now both in Ireland, what a journey indeed 30hrs without sleep, you guys are such an inspiration as you both handled all the hassles and now landed safely. Waiting for the next videos.
You both look great even after all the stress from traveling.

Glad to see that you made it to Ireland. I learned long ago never to choose any flight connection with less than a 3 hour layover. It just ends up being too stressful in the end. I may spend more time sitting and waiting, but compared to what you just went through it's worth it. Happy to see that you made it safely. Looking forward to seeing your Adventures in Ireland. You were still lucky because you didn't miss any of your flights. I believe that the hassles you experienced may have even turned favorably for you because it appeared that you were prioritized (for Lay) in the immigration to catch up to your flights. Of course, Tom was a big help to Lay on what needed to be said and further explained.

I had the opportunity to visit Cork with a friend when i was an international student in Scotland. I studied at Abertay Dundee University. That is a long time ago, 1993 through 1996. I visited Cork late 1995.

You can make a request on your booking what sort of food you want. By doing so, you will get advantage of being served with priority before serving the usual foods to other passengers.

Ah, your airport experiences bring back such fond memories of my own past travels. Running through airports, trying to make connecting flights, between widely separated arrival/departure gates, while carrying your luggage - a lot of fun when you are young; not so much, as you get older & slower... lol.
Nowadays, I prefer a long layover, since I no longer travel for business meetings and do not need to arrive at a specific time of day. Much less stressful. I also only use lightweight, soft-sided, over-the-shoulder luggage vs. heavier, hard-shell, wheeled luggage - easier/faster when you need to run/jog through airports & bus/train stations, as well as haul your luggage up & down a bunch of stairs.
Manchester Airport is better than Heathrow Airport. But, that is just my personal opinion & limited experience.
Does it really matter, though? It does seem that we always get where we are going... eventually. :)

I travel a lot off duty every chance my friends & I get for mini vacations and we experience a lot of good
and hassles although lots of times we’re lucky and have a straight flight to our Asian destinations (smile ) or wherever.
Traveling is a great experience good and uncomfortable at times, just make the best of it as long as you’re safe and good health.
Speaking of traveling, I’m traveling w/ friends in a few days to Florida USA warm weather vacation to some beautiful beaches (smile)
and some sights seeing.
Anyway have a lovely time in Ireland, Tom take good care of Lay (smile)

Yip, definitely got to be careful what airline and airport to use, I'm extremely picky now. Make sure your connections have lots of hours buffer time. It's pretty normal these days for flight delays of at least 1 hour. I flew recently twice in the past few months and both times they were delayed by 1 hour.

Geez guys what an experience,it seems its not that easy to plan any more as certain things in transport services change and some thinl learnt from what happened to you both is one hour between flights is not enough. Lay is certainly a kool person and seems to love the travel, she is a Gem Tom, l only wish at 68 yrs l had the energy and vigor to do what you guys are doing, looking forward to watching and being part of these vlogs ,keep it going Tom & Lay its fantastic.🙏

Regarding the meal fiasco on the flight - my hack is to pre-book the meal, normally isn't needed but it's nice to have before everyone else as you can get to the bog before others 😅
That's a funny story because I remember being late like that and the look at the people on the plane, just like Tom said look at these idiots delaying us and you just feel stupid from their look 😂😂

I am all familiar with these things. Back in 2020 I was almost arrested in Frankfurt for having an expired EU passport, even tho I had a valid Canadian passport. Later that year, in the middle of the biggest Covid restrictions my woman came to Canada and my daughter came with her. The amount of paperwork C.B.S.A needed was unreal. She told me how many ppl were turned back in Zurich for not having a Quarantine plan, or invitation. Luckily my daughter was already holding a Canadian passport, so it made everything easier. Glad I don't have to travel anymore..

It happen to me and my wife we were going to the Netherlands from the US A 8 hr. flight from where we live. Sitting behind us was a family with just one kid and he just cried and kept kicking the back of my chair and I figure he would stop soon. But 2 hr's in the flight the parents just let him keep going. So I got up and yelled at the parents to shut the kid up the whole plane started clapping. We paid $1200.00 for each ticket and the Stewart did nothing and I filed a complaint with KLM and they must received hundreds of complaints and I am report it to the BBB. They took down my info. And gave us $100 dollars for each ticket of for the next ticket in the future. I still heard that kid voice in my head for 2 days. This was 10 years ago!
Frequent international travellers like myself suffer from this occasionally. Ironically, you occasionally lock eyes with other frequent flyers who just “know” when you walk in late 😂. Flying out of LHR rn after a successful UCL game.
